Member-to-member laminar fuse connection
A member-to-member planar connection bracket that includes multiple repeated fuse element configurations that each provide a pre-determined inelastic load-carrying capacity and a reliable inelastic deformation capacity upon development of one or more inelastic hinge locations within the fuse elements. The fuse configurations are interconnected in series such that the total deformation accommodated between first end of the bracket and second end of the bracket is the sum of deformations accommodated by the individual fuse configurations. Multiple brackets are configured in laminar configurations and interconnected to create a connection assembly that provides increased strength or increased deformation capacity as compared to an individual bracket. The connection assembly is used to connect a first structural member and second structural member. The pre-determined maximum inelastic load-carrying capacity of the assembly is less than the elastic load-carrying capacity of the first structural member and the second structural member.
INSULATABLE, INSULATIVE FRAMEWORK APPARATUS AND METHODS OF MAKING AND USING SAME
A building framework is disclosed herein having a first structural member, a second structural member, and a third structural member disposed between the first and second structural members, a first web member connecting the first and third structural members in a spaced apart relationship, and a second web member connecting the second and third structural members in a spaced apart relationship. The first web member is positioned relative to the second web member such that the shortest distance between the first web member and second web member is greater than or equal to 5 times the thickness of the third structural member. STRUCTURAL COMPONENT FOR MODULAR WALLS
A reversible structural component for use as a portion of a vertical frame in a modular wall system includes an elongate body extending between a first end and a second end thereof, a plurality of countersunk through-holes extending through the structural component, and a plurality of threaded through-holes extending through the structural component. The countersunk through-holes and the threaded through-holes are disposed on the elongate body between the first end and the second end so that the countersunk through-holes of the structural component are aligned with the threaded through-holes of a separate identical structural component when back sides of the structural component and the separate identical structural component are brought together 180-degrees relative to one another during use.
Plastic wall panel with edge reinforcement
The present invention relates to a modular building structure that can be used for storage in a yard or the like. It comprises a plurality of sidewall panels and roofing panels. At least some of the sidewall panels have a pair of opposing marginal edges with adjacent marginal edges being provided with flanges that can overlap one another. At least one of the marginal edges has a reinforcing channel secured to a bead portion thereof and extending along a substantial portion of the length of the bead edge.
Insulated metal panel and curtain wall systems
Wall systems and buildings having such wall systems are disclosed. Such wall systems include parametric mullions each of which is constructed from a plurality of interconnecting components so that the wall systems may be disposed much closer to the building frame than conventional wall systems. Such wall systems may include panels disposed to form convex or concave facades. Such wall systems may also include decorative features superimposed over one or more panels or extending outward from the facade surface. The parametric mullions may be formed into trusses which may be used as part of a wall system or independently of such wall systems.
TRUSS FORMED OF FOLDED SHEET METAL
A truss includes a plurality of truss members, each truss member formed from a unitary folded blank of sheet metal to create a main panel, and proximal and distal flanges and a horizontal panel each extending perpendicularly from the main panel, the proximal flange of a first truss member is connected to the distal flange of a second truss member to form a truss. In one embodiment employing trusses formed of folded sheet metal, a plurality of interconnected truss modules, each truss module including a plurality of truss members, forms a plurality of oppositely extending horizontal flanges that collectively present the top and bottom surfaces of a cantilevered canopy.
Wall mounting system with ledge
A system for mounting a load to a wall frame is disclosed. The system has upper and lower mounting systems. Each of the upper and lower mounting systems has a wall bracket and a load bracket. The wall brackets of the upper and lower mounting systems each include a retaining flange, and are configured to be mounted to the wall frame. While the wall brackets of the upper and lower mounting systems are mounted to the wall frame, a space is defined between the wall and the retaining flanges. The wall bracket of the lower mounting system includes a ledge that is configured to support the load. The load brackets of the upper and lower mounting systems each include a retainable flange, and are configured to be mounted to the load. While the load is mounted to the wall, the weight of the load is supported by the ledge.
METHOD, ASSEMBLY AND SYSTEM FOR ASSEMBLING AND DISASSEMBLING A SHELTER
A method, assembly and system of assembling and disassembling a shelter is provided. The method provided is configured to assemble a modular shelter in a hard to access location without heavy machinery. The assembly comprises a plurality of shipping modules having truss systems composed of beams and columns. The trusses may be connected to other trusses with the help of joint nodes. The truss system may be extended for sliding columns, may be connected to varying other trusses with varying joint nodes and may comprise connecting elements for angled connections. The assembly and the truss system are modular in that a plurality of the beams, columns and joint nodes may be removable.
Deck Framing Device
A deck framing device relates to a clamp-based system that can be safely implemented without risk of damaging rails, banisters, or other such existing mounting structures. A set of clamps allows the apparatus to mount securely and removably atop a deck, especially the railing of a deck. The clamps may be adjustable to accommodate for different widths of railings or supports. A vertical post extends upwards from around each of the clamps. These vertical posts are connected by horizontal beams that are optimized for the support of various items, including, but not limited to, curtains, ornamental lighting fixtures, blankets, and more. In many versions, the horizontal beams may expand telescopically to allow for customizable length adjustment or may be cut down to an appropriate size and fit into hinged supports extending from the top portions of the vertical posts. Various threaded fasteners ensure that customization is both convenient and intuitive.
