BALCONY
A building construction, comprising: one or more studs protruding from a building façade; at least a partially constructed balcony; cooperating means for hooking the balcony into position relative to the studs to locate the balcony; the cooperating means comprising: a pin mounted to the one or more studs or a part connected thereto extending in a generally horizontal direction substantially parallel to the building façade when the stud is affixed in a wall of the building; and a slot provided on the balcony extending in a generally vertical disposition, whereby the balcony can be located into position by locating the pin within the slot, the slot extending upwards from a bottom portion of the balcony.
Resilient prestress-free steel structure formed by combining pin-ended columns with elastic centering beam
A resilient prestress-free steel structure includes the elastic centering beam and two pin-ended box column bases. The elastic centering beam includes two cantilever segment I-shaped steel beams, a middle segment I-shaped steel beam and buckling restrained high strength steel bars. The cantilever segment I-shaped steel beams are fixed to the two pin-ended box column bases, the middle segment I-shaped steel beam is connected between the two cantilever segment I-shaped steel beams, the buckling restrained high strength steel bars are symmetrically arranged. One end of each of the buckling restrained high strength steel bars is firmly connected with the web of each of the cantilever segment I-shaped steel beams, and the other end of each of the buckling restrained high strength steel bars is firmly connected with the web of the middle segment I-shaped steel beam. The resilient prestress-free steel structure is arranged in left and right symmetrical manner.

A building framework is disclosed herein comprising a first structural member, a second structural member, and a third structural member disposed between the first and second structural members, a first web member connecting the first and third structural members in a spaced apart relationship, and a second web member connecting the second and third structural members in a spaced apart relationship. The first web member is positioned relative to the second web member such that the shortest distance between the first web member and second web member is greater than or equal to 5 times the thickness of the third structural member. Structural support member with swaged female interface
A swaged interface includes a male element that includes a male cavity defined by at least one male sidewall, and a plurality of first openings defined in the at least one male sidewall. The swaged interface also includes a female element that includes a female cavity defined by at least one female sidewall, and a plurality of second openings defined in the at least one female sidewall. The female element has an inner cross section sized to receive the male element such that each of the first openings is aligned with a respective one of the second openings. The inner cross section is formed by swaging.
SUPPORT BEAM FOR SCREENED ENCLOSURE AND CONNECTORS THEREFORE
A beam system for a screened enclosure that includes one piece support beams having an internal channel and three or more spline grooves on one or more exterior sides. The spline grooves are designed to accept and secure screen material. Inserts positionable within the interior channel of adjacent beams may provide increased structural support for larger openings in the screened enclosure. The inserts generally include a central pillar having angular caps attached to opposing lateral edges thereof so that an insert fits snugly within the interior channel of the support beam. The inserts may be secured within the support beams by fastening elements.

The invention discloses a calculation method of ultimate moment resistance and moment-rotation relation for steel beam to concrete-filled steel tube column connections with bidirectional bolts, wherein the calculation method as follows: calculate ultimate moment resistance values of the connection for different failure modes, i.e. yielding of the endplate or T-stub in bending, failure of bolts in tension, failure of column in transverse compression, failure of panel zone in shear, and yielding of the steel beam in bending; the smallest one in the five ultimate moment resistance values is taken as the ultimate moment resistance of the connection; obtain the initial rotational stiffness of the connection by the test, simulation or theoretical calculation; then, the moment-rotation curve of the connection is obtained by substituting the initial rotational stiffness and the ultimate moment resistance into the proposed exponential model for the moment-rotation relation.
Modular building connector
A connector assembly, having an upper connector coupled to a lower connector and a gusset plate sandwiched between the upper and lower connectors. The upper and lower connectors allow for coupling to adjacent upper and lower connectors, respectively, allowing for addition of a modular unit to a pre-existing modular structure. Also, ways of coupling adjacent upper connectors and coupling of adjacent lower connectors when coupling a modular unit to a pre-existing modular structure are provided.
Building construction
A modular perimeter frame system is described for forming a perimeter frame used in the construction of floors, walls and roofs of buildings. The modular perimeter frame system has a first modular sub-frame having one or two blunt end portions, and a second modular sub-frame having one or two overhang end portions. The blunt and overhang end portions are so dimensioned and shaped as to facilitate a continuous abutting engagement between at least two surfaces which meet at a corner of the blunt end portion and at least two surfaces which meet at a corner of the overhang end portion.
LOCATING PIN ASSEMBLY FOR A MODULAR FRAME
A locating pin assembly for coupling a first modular frame to a second modular frame is disclosed. The locating pin assembly has a first gusset plate positioned between the first modular frame and the second modular frame. The first gusset plate has a first gusset plate aperture and a second gusset plate aperture for receiving fastening means for coupling the first-modular-frame-first-beam and the second-modular-frame-first-beam the gusset plate. The pin assembly also has a pin engaging the first gusset plate, the first modular frame and the second modular frame. Also disclosed are modular frame units having the pin assembly, system of modular frame units having the pin assembly and a method of coupling modular frame units.
MULTI-STORY BUILDING HAVING PODIUM LEVEL STEEL TRANSFER STRUCTURE
A building includes a podium level steel transfer structure configured to receive vertical loads and lateral loads from upper portions of the building. The building may be a low-rise building or a mid-rise building. The podium level steel transfer structure may be at least partially pre-constructed such that final assembly may occur at a job site with reduced skilled labor. Transverse members of the podium level steel transfer structure may include engagement features extending vertically therefrom, and configured to align, engage, and retain at least one interior demising wall and at least one exterior wall in an orthogonal relationship through multiple fasteners. The engagement features may include a steel member with a trapezoidal profile having one or more angular notches, one or more captive fasteners, and at least one alignment hole.
