PORTABLE MODULAR SYSTEM FOR STRUCTURAL ASSEMBLIES
The present invention provides a modular system for constructing a structure assembly. The system comprises first and second sidewall components each comprising a set of spaced-apart longitudinally oriented grooves disposed in a first face thereof. The system comprises a plurality of rib components, each rib component having a pair of elongated protrusions extending from opposing sides of the rib component and, each protrusion being shaped to matingly engage with at least the first portion of the groove to connect the first and second sidewall components along a face-to-face direction. The system further comprises two elongate key joint members matingly engaging with two respective additional sidewall components to connect the sidewall components with the additional sidewall components along a transverse direction perpendicular to the face-to-face direction in a side to side relationship.
Formwork plate for walls and arches
The present invention relates to a formwork plate comprising a flat rectangular central body extended in a first direction by a first series of flat tabs and in a second opposing direction by a second series of flat tabs, the tabs extending in the plane of the body while leaving a spacing between tabs of the same series, the plate having first and second sets of angled tabs, with each angled tab extending into the spacing between two flat tabs respectively from the first or second series, the tabs being angled while extending the body each having an angled portion and a flat distal end portion extending parallel to the flat tabs. The invention also relates to a formwork made from several plates.
FRAMELESS MODULAR WALL PANEL SYSTEMS, STRUCTURES AND RELATED METHODS
Frameless modular wall systems, frameless modular free-standing wall structures, and related methods are disclosed. The systems and structures include a plurality of panels including a wall portion and connector portions extending from opposing lateral sides of the wall portion, the connector portions each including a wide portion and a narrow portion extending between the wide portions and the panel portion. The systems and structures also include a plurality of connecting posts including connector slots configured to removably accept a connector portion of a panel therein, the connector slots each including a wide portion and a narrow portion corresponding to the wide portion and a narrow portion of the connector portions of the panels. When the plurality of panels and the plurality of connecting posts are removably coupled via the connector portions and the connector slots, the panels and connecting posts form a free-standing wall structure.
Method for making a covering
A method for making a covering is described. The covering includes a first layer made of a flexible material; a second and a third layers made of a preferably rigid material engaged on opposite sides to the first layer. The second and the third layers respectively have a plurality of V-shaped grooves defining respective adjacent rigid and corresponding structural portions. Each rigid structural portion can be oriented with respect to the adjacent rigid structural portion, by folding the first layer so as to model the covering according to three-dimensional configurations and/or a simple or double curvature. The method is preferably performed through a virtual designing of the shape desired to be obtained and a processing of the same for the obtainment of the grooves required to attain such shape.
Cold-formed steel above ground tornado shelter
A tornado shelter which meets the structural performance criteria of ICC, FEMA, ASCE, AISI, and ACI, produced from trapezoidal cold-formed steel panels.
Panelized structure improvement
A panelized complex polyhedron structure can be constructed quickly and inexpensively from a plurality panels. According to one embodiment, the structure includes a plurality of panels, wherein a first panel comprises an integrated connecting feature formed unitarily with the first panel and including a faceted feature connected to a plain end of a second panel. According to another embodiment, the first panel includes integrated connecting features including a plurality of planar faceted features, wherein one of the faceted features is connected to a plain end of the second panel. The plurality of planar faceted features are oriented at angles selected to enable a plurality of panel connections necessary to construct the structure. In one embodiment, the panel comprising the integrated connecting features is formed unitarily.
BEAM CONNECTOR FOR ARCH STRUCTURE
Structural connectors used as a component to construct an arch including a plurality of closely adjacent, polygonal rows of stringer beams. The multiple row polygonal arch is a low-cost, general purpose support structure for bridges, shelters and arbors applicable to many cost-, time- or environmentally-sensitive situations. The structural connectors may be a Y-shaped connectors with three brackets, two upper brackets and a lower bracket, which collectively enable a union of three beams forming one node of the multiple row polygonal arch. Using these Y-shaped connectors to join the beams at each node creates the arch structure, and additionally provides the features of cantilevering, modularity, generic component shape, reusability and safety. Structural connectors are applicable to a variety of structures such as pedestrian and vehicular bridges, shelters, arbors, as well as jewelry, furniture and toys. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also included.
Corrugated metal plate and overhead structure incorporating same
A corrugated metal plate comprises a plate configured to define a series of crests and troughs, where the plate has longitudinal edges extending parallel to longitudinal axes of the crests and the troughs and transverse edges extending orthogonally to the longitudinal axes of the crests and the troughs. The corrugated metal plate further comprises at least one of: at least one longitudinal flange extending from each longitudinal edge, and at least one transverse flange extending from each transverse edge.
MODULAR WALL SYSTEMS
A modular wall structure can include a first modular unit having a first face defined by a first perimeter and a second modular unit having a second face defined by a second perimeter. The first modular unit can be operably and selectively coupled to the second modular unit. Base units can be provided to support the first and second modular units.
Architectural building block
An architectural building block including a generally triangular block having an outer wall, an inner wall disposed in substantially parallel configuration with respect to the outer wall and three side walls, each adjoining the outer wall and the inner wall. One of the side walls includes dual inverse mirror planes and each of the other two of which includes a single inverse mirror plane. At least one the side walls is configured to be positionable so as to mate with a side wall of an abuttingly disposed block, whereby curved structures may be constructed from a plurality of such blocks to form a dihedral angle between each set of two blocks. In one embodiment, the inner wall further includes at least one depression disposed on the inner wall of the block.
