METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR CONTROLLED HYPERTHERMIA
20200345920 · 2020-11-05 ·

Methods and for treatment of cancer and other diseases including complications from late stage viral infections by inducing hyperthermia in a patient relying on withdrawing blood from the patient and returning the withdrawn blood to the patient to establish an extracorporeal flow circuit. Blood is heated by passing through the extracorporeal circuit at a controlled rate until a target body core temperature in is achieved. Usually, the blood will be subjected to a continuously re-circulating dialysis to balance electrolytes. Additionally, the blood will be subjected to a continuously recirculating regeneration through a carbon sorbent column where toxins and contaminants are removed. The blood temperature is maintained at the target blood temperature for a treatment period, and the blood is cooled after the treatment period has been completed. The method can also be effective in treating rheumatoid arthritis, scleroderma, hepatitis, sepsis, the Epstein-Barr virus, and patients with life threatening complications from other viruses, including the COVID-19 virus. A method for removing viruses from the blood supply in an external circuit is also presented.

METHOD OF HEAT SANITIZATION OF A HAEMODIALYSIS WATER CIRCUIT USING A CALCULATED DOSE

A method of sanitizing liquid for use in a. medical device, the method comprising the steps of providing a medical device defining a water circuit with a volume of liquid, sensing the temperature of the volume of liquid with a sensor, heating the volume of liquid from an initial temperature to exceed a threshold temperature, maintaining the volume of liquid above the threshold temperature, determining a time-temperature value for the volume of liquid periodically once the threshold temperature has been exceeded, calculating a. cumulative time-temperature value and providing an output signal once the cumulative time-temperature value has reached a level indicative of a sanitizing dose. A medical device and a liquid sanitizer are also disclosed.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PHOTOACTIVATION OF A BIOLOGICAL FLUID

Methods and systems for treating a biological fluid with light are disclosed. The methods and systems provide for determining a target light dose for the biological fluid; loading a treatment container holding the biological fluid into an irradiation chamber of an irradiation device comprising: with the treatment container being supported in the irradiation device in between a first array of light sources and first light energy sensors and a second light energy sensor. The first array of light sources is activated, and a first light intensity is measured with the first light energy sensors. A second light intensity is measured with the second light energy sensor, and the first light intensity is compared to the second light intensity to determine an attenuation factor. The attenuation factor is applied to the first light intensity to determine a time to achieve the target light dose, with the first array of multiple light sources being deactivated after the time to achieve the target light dose has elapsed.

Many pneumonia diseases and lung malfunctions can be quickly repaired using an improved lung lavage technique where the patient is rotated in specific 3D orientations to increase the efficiency of the lavage procedure. The process involves filling and emptying the lungs with fluid and rotating the patient makes this process natural and effective. Supplementary, a hydro-pneumatic system facilitates the operations with the patient sustained in various positions such as being immersed in water and having various control mechanisms such as variable pressures, temperatures, and performing assisted breathing. Additionally, immersed devices are implanted that shake-up of alveolar wall and other devices perform ultrasound imaging with a 0.1 mm resolution, a resolution in competition with stereoscopic X-ray. The bio-medical data acquisition system allows physicians to completely assess patient status in real time and guide the treatment to ensure optimum patient care, under quality assurance procedures.

METHOD OF PREPARING CONTAINERS FOR BLOOD-DERIVED PRODUCTS
