Experimental system for out-of-plane seismic performance of masonry block wall, and experimental method using same

An experimental system for out-of-plane seismic performance of a masonry block wall, comprising: a static test bed (1), a lateral limiting system disposed on one side on the static test bed (1), and a transverse load system disposed on the other side on the static test bed (1), a masonry block wall to be tested (401) being disposed between the lateral limiting system and the transverse load system. The experimental system also comprises a vertical load system disposed above a wall. Also provided is an experimental method using the experimental system for out-of-plane seismic performance of a masonry block wall, on the basis of a quasi-static test method, a horizontal reciprocating actuator is used to simulate an out-of-plane seismic load action; quarter-point loading is implemented by means of a multi-stage shear stress distribution apparatus, then a force is transmitted to a second screw rod (602), and the second screw rod (602) fits an out-of-plane uniformly distributed load into four horizontally-equidistant transversely-concentrated forces and transmits same to a test piece. The present invention has the characteristics of a clear force transmission path, uniform stress distribution, high experimental precision and an accurate result, such that the study of the out-of-plane seismic performance of a component is more accurate and reliable.

Insulated wallboards are exposed interior insulation panels, for walls and ceilings, in occupiable spaces, that can be taped, finished, textured, and painted, which eliminates the need for gypsum board, and reduces or eliminates the need for other insulation, such as wall cavity insulation and exterior insulation. Insulated wallboard panels are formed by applying various combinations of thermal reflection layers such as aluminum foil; moisture resistance layer; or reinforcement layers over an insulating core. An enhanced surface or enhanced surface layer is provided on the interior-facing surface of the panel, to accept joint compound, paint, plaster, texture, or other interior finish. The core may be phenolic or other material with appropriate insulating and fire-retardant properties. The insulated wallboards may be applied directly to wood or metal framing, masonry, CMU, tilt-up concrete walls; or over existing gypsum board or other interior surfaces to retrofit additional insulation without disrupting exterior walls or roof.

Brick tie gap connector

A sheet metal connector is provided for connecting a brick wall to a second structural member, the connector is received in the mortar joint of the brick wall and is connected to second structural member. The connector is provided with zones of controlled bending and controlled stiffness to allow for controlled bending of the connector in the field.

Dry stacking system

The invention concerns a dry stacking system (1) comprising: bricks (2, 3, 4, 5, 27, 29), with a flat top face (8) and a flat bottom face (9) in which a groove (14, 15) is provided in the length direction; a wall tie (6); and an anchoring clamping element (7) which can be attached to the wall tie (6) and in adjacent grooves (14, 15) of a top-stacked brick (2, 3, 4, 5, 27, 29) and a corresponding under-stacked brick (2, 3, 4, 5);
wherein at least one brick (2, 29) as an anchoring brick (2, 29) has one or more recesses (16) in its top face (8) and/or its bottom face (9) for receiving the wall tie (6) therein, wherein each recess (16) extends from a rear face (10) to beyond the corresponding groove (14). The invention also concerns an anchoring brick (2, 29) for such a dry stacking system (1), a facade (26) erected therewith, and a method for erecting such a facade (26).
