HEMORRHAGE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
An embodiment includes a wound dressing comprising: a shape memory polymer (SMP) foam, including open cells, having first and second states; and a hydrogel (HG) included within the cells; wherein (a) in a first position a composite, including the SMP foam and the HG, is configured to be located proximate a hemorrhagic tissue with the SMP foam in the first state; (b) in a second position the composite is configured to be expanded to the second state against the hemorrhagic tissue when the SMP foam is plasticized at 37? C. depressing a glass transition temperature (T.sub.g) of the SMP foam to below 25? C. Other embodiments are described herein.

Antimicrobial hydrochloric acid catheter lock solution and method of use
A catheter lock solution includes a hydrochloric acid solution having a concentration of 0.3 Molar to 1.0 Molar. This hydrochloric acid solution may be used to lock a catheter and/or salvage an infected catheter.
COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR TREATING OR PREVENTING DISEASES ASSOCIATED WITH OXIDATIVE STRESS
Methods and compositions for treating various indications by lessening oxidative stress in a patient are provided. A pharmaceutical composition comprises between about 0.001% to about 10.0%, or more specifically between about 0.015% to about 5%, sodium iodide or catalase by weight. The iodine ion or the catalase dissociates hydrogen peroxide into water and molecular oxygen to interrupt biological events that result in negative side effects. The pharmaceutical composition further comprises in some cases a reducing agent or various carrier materials. The pharmaceutical composition is in some cases formulated for a variety of delivery methods.
COMPOSITE ANTIBACTERIAL HYDROGEL DRESSING, PREPARATION METHOD AND APPLICATION THEREOF
A composite antibacterial hydrogel dressing, a preparation method and an application method thereof are provided, which relate to the field of biomedical technologies. The composite antibacterial hydrogel dressing is made from the following raw materials in parts by weight: 8 to 22 parts of chitosan, 12 to 36 parts of carrageenan, 9 to 25 parts of 2-aminoisonicotinic acid, 3 to 8 parts of lactic acid, 4 to 10 parts of iodine and 6 to 15 parts of potassium iodide. The composite antibacterial hydrogel dressing has a good flexibility, a strong antibacterial effect, a long antibacterial time, no skin irritation, good application prospect in the field of medical wound repair, simple preparation process and easy industrial production.
