Antibacterial member
An antibacterial member that maintains a high antibacterial property and a high osteoconductive property for a long duration is provided. The antibacterial member includes a DLC film (F-DLC film) 40 containing fluorine at least partially or entirely on an outermost surface of a base material 10. The F-DLC film has an element ratio (F/(F+C)) of 17% to 72% and a nanoindentation hardness of 2,000 MPa to 16,000 MPa. This maintains wear resistance and close contact, and obtains an antibacterial member that maintains a high antibacterial property and a high osteoconductive property for a long duration. The F-DLC film does not necessarily need to cover the entire outermost surface of the base material but may be disposed in a mottled pattern.

Topical Formulation Cures and Heals a Variety of Skin Conditions Including Ulcers, Decubitus Ulcers, Cancer, Abrasions and other Conditions and also accelerates the curing and healing of those Conditions
A formulation consisting of Thymol Iodide, in a Lanolin, Petrolatum, Zinc Oxide, Olive Oil base is applied to a topical skin lesion. Observed also and after discussions with patients, caregivers and patient relatives, it was discovered that a certain formulation consisting of an active pharmaceutical ingredient together with a specific base formulation promoted curing and accelerated healing of a variety of conditions. This formulation was examined for its superior effectiveness leading to the discovery found within this patent application.
Such a formulation will have a drastic reduction of healthcare costs because the topical application of this formulation will effect improvement, cure and accelerated healing resulting in no need for costly operations, hospitalizations, or long-term treatment.
ANTIMICROBIAL COMPOSITION COMPRISING A POLYSACCHARIDE, A STABILIZING AGENT AND TRIIODIDE, METHOD OF PREPARATION THEREOF AND USE THEREOF
A composition having antimicrobial activity is provided. The composition comprises a polysaccharide, a stabilizer, and a triiodide, where the triiodide decomposition to iodide and volatile iodine can be significantly suppressed by the presence of the stabilizer. Methods of preparing and using the composition and devices prepared therewith are also disclosed. As compared to liquid forms comprising triiodide, stabilized solid forms can be used for a much wider range of applications due to their shape stability and a significantly smaller volume and weight of total material.
HEMOSTATIC COMPOSITION
The present invention relates to improved hemostatic compositions comprising cellulose-based fibers supplemented with compounds, preparation and use thereof.
Medical supplies and method of producing the same
A method of producing metallic medical supplies includes supplying a metallic material selected from the group consisting of Ti, a Ti alloy, stainless steel and a CoCr alloy as a base material; treating the base material by carrying out anodic oxidation treatment in which an acid electrolytic bath or an alkali electrolytic bath is used as an electrolytic solution, and pulsed current having a frequency of 50 to 10,000 Hz is applied to the base material in the electrolytic solution to carry out electrolysis treatment to form a film having micro pores and/or micro unevennesses having a density of 510.sup.4/mm.sup.2 or more on a surface of the base material; and carrying out iodine-impregnation treatment to impregnate the film with iodine or iodine compounds, wherein the metallic medical supplies have an antimicrobial activity value of not less than 2 to not more than 4.
Controlled Release Iodine Structure For Use With Wound Care
Systems, methods, and apparatuses for generating and releasing iodine are described. Some embodiments may include a dressing member including a plurality of iodine-forming reagents and a water-swellable material. In some embodiments, the dressing member may include water-swellable fibers. The water-swellable fibers may each include a water-swellable material in which iodine-forming reagents are dispersed. As liquid comes into contact with and is absorbed by the water-swellable material, the iodine-forming reagents may come into contact with each other, causing an iodine-forming reaction to occur, producing iodine.
