Building component
A building formwork component comprising first and second spaced sidewalls having one or more webs extending there-between, each sidewall comprising a flange extending inwardly along a first edge of the sidewall such that an outer surface of the flange forms a ramp surface; and a groove extending along an opposing second edge of the sidewall; wherein the component may be coupled to a like component by relative movement of the components towards each other, whereby the flanges are received in respective grooves of the like component, and whereby the ramp surfaces facilitate such coupling by engaging respective second edges of the like component to move the second edges and/or ramp surfaces for engagement of the flanges in the grooves.
Methods and systems for modular buildings
A modular seamless corner component for providing a corner to a structure without having to compromise between structural integrity and energy efficiency. The continuous insulation and structure of the modular seamless corner component provide for a stronger corner because there are no seams to magnify stress and provide for a high energy efficiency because there is no thermal bridging.
Composite structural panel and method of fabrication
A structural panel and method of fabricating and manufacturing same comprises a top panel and a bottom panel separated by and attached to at least one, but preferably a plurality, of structural composite preforms which may be fabricated by a continuous manufacturing process and may be saturated by resin using a continuous wetting process. The composite preforms may take any cross sectional shape but are preferably trapezoidal. The top and bottom panels may be fabricated from a plurality of layers of woven fabric layers and non-woven fabric layers which are saturated with a resin that is subsequently cured using cure processes known in the art. The composite structural panel of the invention is usable as a flat structural member for use as bridge decking, ramps, trestles, and any application requiring a structural panel.
Demountable/modular structure system
A demountable structure system is disclosed. The demountable structure system may have a roof system positioned atop one or more structural panel(s) and a floor system positioned beneath one or more structural panels(s). The structural panels may have different shapes, configurations, and features, and may support the roof system in order to form a demountable structure. Alternatively, the roof system is omitted and a wall or other structure can be formed from the structural panels. Each structural panel may have other features, such as finish panels, fabric panels, accessory mounts, recessed lighting, electrical outlets, etc. Some structural panels have sound dampening features, such as to form portable musician's sound booth. Thus, a structure may be formed which is both readily disassembled, yet also sturdy.
EXPLOSIVE BLAST ABSORPTION
An explosive blast absorption barrier, comprising a plurality of layers including a front layer and at least one further layer which comprises a recess forming layer providing a plurality of conical or pyramidal tapered recesses, each tapering from a wider opening at a surface distal from the front layer to a narrower end, each tapered recess being at least partially filled with a mixture of particulate matter and a gel.
Multi-functional composite structure for extreme environments
A multi-functional composite structure has a modular design that can be altered depending on an extreme environment in which the structure will be exposed such as hazardous radiation, micro-meteoroid and orbital debris impacts, extreme temperature changes, etc. The material combinations employed in the multi-functional composite structure provide a supporting structure with low weight and maximum protection from radiation, debris impacts and temperature variations.
INSULATING AND STORM-RESISTANT PANELS
In one example, the present invention is directed at a panel that includes (a) a first material having an inside surface and an outside surface, (b) a second material having an inside surface and an outside surface, (c) a zig-zag web with arms and apices disposed between the first material and the second material, (d) insulation disposed between adjacent arms, (e) a composite material comprising an adhesive and particulate material, wherein the composite material is applied to (i) inside surfaces of the first material and the second material, (ii) the zig-zag web, and (iii) the insulation; and wherein the outside surfaces of the first material and the second material are each substantially planar and parallel to one another, the inside surfaces of the first material and the second material contact the apices, and the first material and the second material are the same or different.
PREFABRICATED CONSTRUCTION WALL ASSEMBLY
A prefabricated construction wall assembly comprising: a frame structure having a first thermal expansion coefficient; and a panel configured for covering at least a majority of the a face of the frame structure, said panel having a second thermal expansion coefficient different from the first thermal expansion coefficient, and a solid-surface exterior face exposed to an exterior of the wall assembly and an interior face connected to the face of the frame structure so as to withstand the thermal structural differences between the frame structure and the exterior face.
COMPOSITE BRIDGE DECK STRUCTURAL PANEL AND METHOD OF FABRICATION
A composite structural panel for use in bridge structures, and method of manufacturing same, comprises a top panel and a bottom panel separated by and attached to at least one, but preferably a plurality, of structural composite preforms which may be fabricated by a continuous manufacturing process and may be saturated by resin using a continuous wetting process.
A PRE-ASSEMBLED WALL PANEL FOR UTILITY INSTALLATION
An example pre-assembled wall panel may include a panel frame which includes a plurality of studs connected to opposing end members, first and second wall boards connected to opposite first and second sides of the panel frame, a plurality of spacers attached to at least one of the first and second wall boards and configured to support a finish panel in a spaced relation from the at least one of the first and second wall boards; and a pipe disposed between the first and second wall boards and extending between the opposing end members, wherein the pipe includes a pipe diverter, and wherein a free end of the pipe diverter passes through an opening in the first wall board or the second wall board.
