[Objective]
To provide a pressure-sensitive adhesive agent for skin containing a pressure-sensitive adhesive agent for skin that has favorable shape retention properties and skin-follow up properties without being adversely affected by moisture from excrement or the like even when adhered to the skin over a long period of time and yet leaves no adhesive residue after separation and a pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet for skin contains a base material and a layer of the pressure-sensitive adhesive agent for skin.
[Means to Achieve Objectives]
A pressure-sensitive adhesive agent for skin contains 2 to 35% by weight of a thermoplastic elastomer, 25 to 60% by weight of a hydrophilic polymer compound, 16 to 40% by weight of a softener, and 0.01 to 4.8% by weight of a physiologically active agent; and has a water absorption 3 hours after of 55 to 240% and a water absorption 24 hours after of 240 to 450%. A pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet for skin contains a base material and a layer of a pressure-sensitive adhesive agent for skin that contains 2 to 35% by weight of a thermoplastic elastomer, 25 to 60% by weight of a hydrophilic polymer compound, 16 to 40% by weight of a softener, and 0.01 to 4.8% by weight of a physiologically active agent and is formed on one side of the base material; and has a water absorption 3 hours after of 55 to 240% and a water absorption 24 hours after of 240 to 450%.
SUTURES
The invention relates to a suture thread material comprising at least one polymer and at least one eutectic mixture. The polymer can be a biocompatible polymer such as polycaprolactone or PLGA. The eutectic mixture may comprise maleic acid and an antibiotic such as metronidazole. Other eutectic mixtures can be used in suture thread materials to reduce SSis and/or to decrease pain and/or to increase lubricity of sutures. The invention also provides a method for the production of sutures with drug loadings, the method comprising the use of therapeutic deep eutectic solvent (THEDES) technology to significantly increase drug content in suture matrices.
SURFACE TREATMENTS
An antimicrobial surface treatment method comprising the step of contacting a stainless-steel surface with an aqueous dispersion of at least one functional-lipid construct where the lipid moiety is a phosphatidylethanolamine and the functional moiety confers the antimicrobial activity.
THERAPEUTIC COMPOSITIONS FOR WOUND TREATMENT
Described herein are therapeutic compositions comprising a rhamnolipid impregnated within an electrospun support, and methods of using the same. Exemplary therapeutic compositions may be used for wound treatment.
Methods and composition for suppression of pathogenic bacterial growth, fungal growth, or microbial growth in or on skin
The present disclosure relates to methods and compositions for suppressing pathogenic bacterial growth, fungal growth, or microbial growth in or on a selected area of skin or open wound. An area of the skin or open wound having pathogenic bacterial growth, fungal growth, or microbial growth is selected for the suppression of the growth. A suppressing material comprising punicic acid is applied to the selected area of the skin and the pathogenic bacterial growth, fungal growth, or microbial growth is suppressed. Methods of making and using the suppressing material comprising punicic acid are also presently provided.
