CABLE ANCHORAGE SYSTEM
A cable anchorage system for anchoring a cable to a support structure in a civil engineering construction comprises an anchorage socket attached to the cable, a support socket attached to the support structure and a longitudinal coupling rod, which couples the anchorage socket to the support socket. The coupling rod comprises a threaded end, which interacts with a counter thread on one of the two parts which are the anchorage socket and the support socket, and a mounting end with a radially extending rod shoulder. The other one of the two parts which are the anchorage socket and the support socket comprises a longitudinal opening for receiving the mounting end of the coupling rod, which opening comprises an inwardly extending abutment shoulder. The rod shoulder abuts on the abutment shoulder in a first longitudinal direction and is slideable within the opening in a second longitudinal direction opposite to the first direction, when the anchorage socket is moved towards the support socket for tuning the cable anchorage system.
High performance, reinforced insulated precast concrete and tilt-up concrete structures and methods of making same
The invention comprises a product. The product comprises a foam insulating panel, the panel having a first primary surface and an opposite second primary surface, wherein the foam insulating panel defines at least one recessed channel in the first primary surface, the at least one recessed channel being sized and shaped to provide a mold for a structural reinforcing member. The product also comprises a concrete panel formed on the first primary surface and filling the at least one recessed channel so as to provide a structural reinforcing member for the concrete panel. The product further comprises an elongate anchor member in the foam insulating panel and extending from the first primary surface of the foam insulating panel into the concrete panel. A method of making a composite reinforced insulated concrete structure is also disclosed.
Delay anchor
A delay anchor (delay anchor) for coupling terminal ends of two discontinuous tendons together resulting in a structurally continuous single tendon. The delay anchor generally comprises a coupling sleeve seating one set of tendon wedges for clamping one tendon end, and a stressing barrel seating a second set of tendon wedges for the other tendon end, the stressing barrel being attached to the coupling sleeve, and a compression spring biasing the two assemblies apart. The coupling sleeve is internally configured with a plurality of internal locking channels, and the stressing barrel has a plurality of radially protruding locking lugs slidable therein to provide a twist-lock insertion feature. An encapsulation insert is engaged to one side of an intermediate anchor and an encapsulation sleeve locks onto the encapsulation insert and covers and weather seals all internal components of the delay anchor.
Guide device for retaining ties in masonry walls
A retention tie system for pre- or post-construction installation to stabilize masonry or composite walls. The system comprises a tie member anchored in an anchor hole bored into the existing foundation and a tensioned against a base plate and a cover plate seated along the top of the wall. A bracing member is used to provide lateral stability to the respective plate members. A tension washer is used to ensure that the tie members are tensioned to the appropriate load. A guide member is installed within the masonry wall to brace the tie members against lateral deflection.
Collapsible element pocket former
A pocket former may include a pocket former body, the pocket former body having an outer surface. The pocket former may further include a collapsible element, the collapsible element formed on the outer surface of the pocket former body. The collapsible element may extend radially outwardly from the pocket former body.
Method of determining the magnitude of tension in a tension tie member
A load indicating washer, or tension washer, for visually indicating pre-determined magnitudes of tension force in a tension tie member. The tension washer comprises a body portion with a deformable, curved annular flange member depending from the body portion. When the tension washer is compressed against a flat bearing surface, the flange member deforms to produce a visual or color indication of the magnitude of load in the tie member.
Pillar for supporting a modular structure, beam intended to be supported on pillars of this type, and structure comprising said pillars and beams
Precast concrete column (1) for the support of structural modular floor, preferably dry assembled, comprising in its upper part a capital for the support (2) of beams (3), having the support capital (2) a square or quadrangular plan in such a way that four sides (21, 22, 23, 24) are defined for the support of the beams (3), in which each of the sides (21, 22, 23, 24) comprises concave recesses (4) of sides parallel to the axis of the beams (3) that define convex protrusions (5) which sides comprise bearing surfaces (6) such that when laying a beam (3), which ends are complementary to said recesses (4), the bearing forces have directions contained in a plane (41, 42, 43, 44) perpendicular to the axis of the beam (3), having said directions a horizontal component. The invention also refers to a beam complementary to this column and to slab segments, as well as to a structure provided with said columns, said beams and optionally also said slab segments.
Advanced Stranded Cable Termination Methods and Design
A compact overall termination for a multi-stranded synthetic filament cable that provides for the inspection of the individual components. Multiple individual cable strands are provided with a strand termination on their free end. These strand terminations are connected to a collector to form an overall cable termination. An advanced collar is provided that reroutes the strands as they leave the collector and controls the transition to the structure found in the free portion of the cable. The advanced collar often shortens the length required for the transition from the collector to the free portion of the cable.
Systems and methods for concrete support post-tensioning
A system, method, and apparatus for post-tensioning in masonry-based system, especially concrete support systems. In one embodiment, a system is presented that can include an anchor, pocket-former, and bolt, wherein the pocket-former can be configured to engage each of the anchor and bolt to facilitate securing of the system to a form. In another embodiment, a method of post-tensioning is presented, wherein a tendon can be suspended at the live end via connections facilitated by a pocket-former. In another embodiment, a system and method of post-tensioning is presented that prevents a pocket and anchor from being contaminated with debris that could ultimately compromise the integrity of the tensioned material.
Multi-anchor concrete post-tensioning system
A system for use with a post-tensioning concrete anchor may comprise a connector anchor including a bore therethrough, the bore including a first frustoconical portion, the connector anchor adapted to bear on the post-tensioning concrete anchor, and a coupler. The coupler may comprise a coupler body including a bore therethrough, the bore including a second frustoconical portion that is oriented oppositely to the first frustoconical portion, and a connector having a bore therethrough and configured to receive the coupler body therein, the connector adapted to mechanically engage the connector anchor such that a tensioning force can be transmitted from the coupler body to the connector anchor via the connector. A method of using the system may allow a second concrete section to be poured adjacent to a first concrete section before the first concrete section has been stressed.
