LIGHT-ACTIVATED COATING AND MATERIALS
A surgical type face mask having a substrate forming an outer layer. The outer layer being treated with a water-based polymer containing at least one photosensitizer in sufficient quantity to impart a characteristic color. In the presence of visible light, the water based polymer generates therapeutically useful quantities of singlet oxygen for treatment, by inhalation thereof, of respiratory infections and cancers.
CORROSION-RESISTANT AND LEAK-PROOF STOMA PASTE WITH SELF-REGULATION OF STRENGTH AND PREPARATION METHOD
A corrosion-resistant and leak-proof stoma paste with self-regulation of strength is provided in this disclosure, with a formula comprising 4-40 parts of liquid rubber with a molecular weight ranging from 2000 to 5000, 8-18 parts of mineral oil, 14-34 parts of iota-carrageenan, 10-20 parts of plant polysaccharide and 15-20 parts of sericite, by weight. A product of the present disclosure can self-regulate hardness of the paste according to amount of stoma excreta through cooperation of the iota-carrageenan and the sericite to improve corrosion resistance of the paste; and synergistic effect provided by the iota-carrageenan and the sericite powder can improve strength and corrosion resistance of the paste.
METHOD FOR PREPARING CELL MEMBRANE-COATED NANO TOPOLOGICALARRAY AND USE THEREOF
A method for preparing a cell membrane-coated nano topological array and a use thereof are disclosed. The method includes: stimulating macrophages to form stimulated macrophages, and extracting the membrane of the stimulated macrophages; at the same time, processing a substrate to form a substrate with nanowires, and treating the substrate with nanowires to form a positively charged nanowire substrate; combining the membrane of the stimulated macrophages with the positively charged nanowire substrate to obtain a macrophage membrane-modified nano topological array. The present invention is simple in preparation and operation, and can be applied to capture bacteria.
Bacteriophage Cocktail-Containing Hydrogel Compositions and Methods of Production and Use Thereof
An anti-bacterial coating composition for use with a medical implant is disclosed. The anti-bacterial coating composition includes a bacteriophage cocktail that is encapsulated in beads that are embedded within a hydrogel. Also disclosed are kits containing the anti-bacterial coating composition as well as methods of producing and using the coating composition.
ELASTOMERIC RUBBER GLOVES WITH IMPROVED SKIN HYDRATION CHARACTERISTICS
According to various embodiments, a glove is provided with improved hydration characteristics and low dermatitis potential. The glove comprises a substrate and a polymer system that coats a surface of the substrate. The polymer system comprises: a polyol, a botanical extract, an emollient agent, a silicone copolymer dispersion, a lubricant, and a surfactant. The substrate may be free of sulphur and accelerators. An example formulation of the polymer system may comprise glycerol, Aloe vera, a carnauba wax dispersion, dimethicone, a polyalkylene glycol (PAG), and polyoxyethylene (20) sorbitan monooleate. The polymer system may be applied to the\surface of the substrate by dipping the surface into a water-based dispersion of the polymer system, or spraying the water-based dispersion onto the interior surface. The polymer system may be blended into water at a total solids content of 0.8% to 1.2% w/w to form the water-based dispersion.
Amniotic or placental device for ophthalmic use as a dressing with refractory center section
A biodegradable lens-shaped patch useful for healing and treatment of ocular conditions is disclosed. The patch is formed from a biodegradable carrier which carries amniotic extract and/or placental extract. The lens-shaped patch may be shaped in the form of a conventional contact lens and it is applied to a corneal surface to enhance healing thereof. After a certain period of time, the patch dissolves on its own and it need not be removed from the eye by a clinician. In an embodiment, the patch includes a clear central section that may be refractory, and a biodegradable peripheral section.
Clostridiodes Difficile Growth Inhibitor
Provided is a growth inhibitor for Clostridioides difficile. A growth inhibitor for Clostridioides difficile, comprising killed Enterococcus faecalis. Also provided are a parenteral pharmaceutical preparation, a bactericide, a disinfectant, an antibacterial agent, a sanitizer or a detergent for inhibiting the growth of Clostridioides difficile.
WOUND DRESSING ARTICLES MADE OF ARRAYS OF MICROSCOPIC NEEDLES OBTAINED FROM EXOSKELETONS OF CRUSTACEANS AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME
The present invention provides a novel and simple method for fabricating a layer (membrane) containing arrays of microscopic needles obtained from crab shells capable of effectively treating wounds and having other medical applications; the method comprises crustacean exoskeletons treated with a base solution, an acid solution, and then medicinally active ingredients such as polysaccharide, proterin, artificial polymer, and inorganic solution.
