EXTRACELLULAR MATRIX SHEET STRUCTURES
20250228999 · 2025-07-17 · ·

An implantable medical product and method of use for substantially reducing or eliminating harsh biological responses associated with conventionally implanted medical devices, including inflammation, infection and thrombogenesis, when implanted in in a body of a warm blooded mammal. The bioremodelable pouch structure is configured and sized to receive, encase and retain an electrical medical device therein and to allow such device to be inserted into the internal region or cavity of the pouch structure; with the pouch structure formed from either: (a) first and second sheets, or (b) a single sheet having first and second sheet portions. After receiving the electrical device, the edges around the opening are closed by suturing or stapling. The medical device encased by the bioremodelable pouch structure effectively improves biological functions by promoting tissue regeneration, modulated healing of adjacent tissue or growth of new tissue when implanted in the body of the mammal.

Methods for treating tissue matrices and tissue matrices produced according to the methods are provided. The methods can include treating select portions of a tissue matrix with a fluid containing at least one agent to produce a tissue matrix with variable mechanical and/or biological properties

CHITOSAN-CONTAINING FORMULATIONS AND METHODS OF MAKING AND USING THE SAME

Provided herein are chitosan-containing formulations, methods of making such formulations, and methods of using such formulations. Chitosan contemplated for use herein is preferably of high quality and its source is preferably of crustacean origin. The formulations contemplated herein are aqueous, either liquid- or viscous-like, varying in concentration and type of chitosan and acid used, and may include other components. Their uses are diverse, for oral/dental administration or topical/surface application to subjects (e.g. humans or animals) in need thereof or even food commodities, aiming to maintain a good condition where it is applied or contributing to health enhancement, healing, disease prevention or treatment. The present invention also relates to concentrated solutions that may be used for the formulation of other products.

BALLOON CATHETERS FOR BODY LUMENS
20230173240 · 2023-06-08 ·

Various embodiments disclosed relate to drug-coated balloon catheters for treating strictures in body lumens and methods of using the same. A drug-coated balloon catheter for delivering a therapeutic agent to a target site of a body lumen stricture includes an elongated balloon having a main diameter. The balloon catheter includes a coating layer overlying an exterior surface of the balloon. The coating layer includes one or more water-soluble additives and an initial drug load of a therapeutic agent.

09827349 · 2017-11-28 · ·

The present invention relates to settable compositions for use in surgery. The invention also provides related compositions, including surgical kits and packages, as well as methods of making and using the settable compositions.

PLASTER FOR USE IN THE CONTEXT OF AN INTRAMUSCULAR INJECTION, IN PARTICULAR A VACCINATION
20230173134 · 2023-06-08 ·

The invention relates to a plaster for use in the context of an intramuscular injection, particularly a vaccination, having a patient side and an outer side, comprising: an adhesive layer on the patient side for attaching the plaster to the skin of a patient, an absorbent wound-covering on the patient side in the region of an intended intramuscular injection site, the absorbent wound-covering having received a disinfectant, and an opening on the outer side in the area of the absorbent wound-covering of the patient side for the injection needle.

Biomaterial comprising poly(itaconate-co-citrate-co-octanediol)

A method of treating infection and/or inflammation in a subject includes steps of providing a polyester biomaterial comprising diol monomers and at least first carboxylate monomers, wherein the first carboxylate monomers are itaconate; and administering the polyester biomaterial to the subject. The polyester biomaterial can be in the form of a biomimetic, and characterized by hydrolytic degradability. The polyester biomaterial may further include second carboxylate monomers. The biomaterial can be poly(itaconate-co-citrate-co-octanediol).

USE OF SELF-ASSEMBLED ALKYLSILANE COATINGS FOR DRUG DELIVERY APPLICATIONS

The invention relates to self-assembled organosilane- and small molecule drug-containing coatings for resorbable medical implant devices. The coatings can be prepared from precursor compositions containing an organosilane and a small molecule drug, and can be applied to substrates. Prior to applying the coatings, the surfaces of the substrates can be pretreated. The coatings can be functionalized with a binding compound that is coupled with an active component. The coatings can be applied using various techniques and apparatus, more particularly, by a deep-coating process conducted at ambient conditions.
