GUTTER ASSEMBLY UTILIZING A LATCH ACTUATED BOTTOM DEBRIS RELEASE DOOR
20190119919 · 2019-04-25 ·

A gutter assembly utilizing a latch actuated bottom release door. This bottom debris release door allows built-up debris, snow, and the like to be quickly and effectively removed from the gutter such that conventional clearing and cleaning methodologies are not necessary. The latch mechanism utilized can be conveniently actuated from the ground using an extension pole or the like. Optionally, an electronic release mechanism can be provided. The gutter assembly of the present invention can be used with a variety of conventional or custom bracings, end caps, downspouts, connectors, corner pieces, etc., well known to those of ordinary skill in the art, and can be installed like any conventional gutter. All components of the gutter assembly can be extruded, molded, three-dimensional (3-D) printed, or the like.

A gutter debris chute assembly includes a chute that has a pair of entries that is each attachable to a respective pair of gutters on a building to receive rain and debris from the gutters. The chute has an exit that is positioned between the entries. The exit is attachable to a downspout on the building to direct the rain and debris into the downspout. The chute curves downwardly between each of the entries and the exit thereby facilitating the chute to increase the velocity of the rain and debris when the rain and debris moves toward the exit. In this way the chute inhibits the debris from clogging in the chute. The chute has a plurality of vanes each is disposed in the chute and each of the vanes is oriented to surround the exit. Each of the vanes is curved thereby urging the rain and debris to flow in a circular direction to inhibit the debris from clogging in the downspout.

The present invention is a gutter system comprising at least a gutter section and one or more downspout sections. It may further incorporate one or more elbow sections. Each of the gutter, downspout and elbow sections may incorporate at least one see-through section. Such see-through sections allow for the monitoring of the rainwater flow and debris in the gutter system.

This monitoring facilitates detection of the exact spot of where debris collects in the gutter system, so that blockages in the gutter system can be predicted and prevented, debris build-up in the gutter system can be cleaned, and the gutter system can be repaired. Rainwater runoff can flow through the gutter system, and unnecessary cleaning of the gutter system, and the cost thereof, can be avoided. The elbow sections may incorporate an access port for access to the interior of the elbow, to permit the removal of debris therefrom.

Rain head and screen therefor

A rain head comprising a lower body, a screen and an upper body. The screen includes a frame having a trough or recess. Lower parts of the sidewalls of the upper body 14 can fit into the trough or recess to enable the upper body to be removably mounted to the rain head. The screen also includes a peripheral flange and a downwardly extending lip that enable the screen to be removably mounted to the upper part of the lower body. At least some water splashing off the screen during a rain event comes into contact with the upper body and is re-directed to flow into the lower body and out through the outlet of the lower body to a rainwater collection tank. The screen and upper body may be provided separately to the lower body.
