Systems and methods for insulating attic openings
A cover for closing an access opening that leads to an infrequently used space within a building, such as an attic, that generally provides an air seal, thermal insulation and/or acoustic insulation at the access opening. The cover may be in one or two portions, including a closure alone or a closure and a frame having an aperture that can be closed by engagement between the closure and the frame. When the cover is used alone it engages a frame or a wall circumscribing the access opening. The cover is sized and shaped to close a stairwell, or the opening at one end of a stairway, an opening in a generally vertical wall, a hatch, or a pull down ladder. The closure and frame are each made of one or more components.
Foldable staircase
A foldable staircase that can be easily transported and conveniently used rather than a ladder. The foldable staircase includes a lower staircase and an upper staircase. The upper staircase and the lower staircase are constructions that bridge vertical distances and provide platforms allowing the user to walk up or down the foldable staircase. The foldable staircase provides an alternative means to reach high areas that is easy and safe to ascend or descend as conventional stairways and staircases along with the transportability of a conventional ladder. The foldable staircase can be adjusted to a collapsed configuration or operative configuration. The collapsed configuration allows a user to store or easily transport the foldable staircase. The operative configuration allows the user to ascend or descend the foldable staircase.
Splicing step device
A splicing step device includes a first step body and a second step body. A height of the first step body is different from a height of the second step body, and the first step body is configured by splicing. The splicing step device is detachable, which reduces a space occupied by the splicing step device during storage and transportation, and reduces storage costs as well as transportation costs.

Laterally Collapsible Staircase
A laterally collapsible staircase with first and second side rails has a number of advantages compared to prior structures. A leveling screw is connected to the second side rail bottom surface to adjust the position of the stairs when deployed to insure that the stairs are horizontal. The second rail has a top side edge extending between its top and bottom and a recessed area extends along the second rail top side edge allowing a user's fingers to grip the rail to facilitate its movement between laterally collapsed and deployed positions. At least one permanent magnet is connected to the second side rail inner surface capable of interacting with another aligned permanent magnet mounted in a wall to help maintain the second side rail in a laterally collapsed position until intentionally moved. Pre-calibrated gas struts eliminate racking, jiggle, and bounce of the staircase.
SAFETY ROOF HATCH SYSTEM
A system is provided for safe access to a roof through an opening in a roof of a structure having a fixed ladder leading upward to the opening. The system includes a mechanism to drive a set of pushrods to raise a hatch covering the opening. The system may include a section of ladder secured to the underside of the hatch. The system may have an extendable ladder driven by the drive mechanism to slide along the fixed ladder and extend through the opening in the roof when the hatch is raised. The system may include a safety pole driven by the drive mechanism to extend through the opening in the roof when the hatch is raised. The system allows someone who needs to access the roof for inspection or maintenance to safely open the hatch, climb up through the opening in the roof, and safely step onto the roof.
Attic Ladder and Kit
An attic ladder modification kit, a method of modifying an attic ladder using the kit, an attic ladder, and a method of using the attic ladder. The attic ladder modification kit includes a plurality of components for installation onto the attic ladder to improve the safety and ease of use of the attic ladder through modification, either during construction of the attic ladder, or as an after-market addition to the attic ladder. The plurality of components includes a pair of springs to bias a hinged connection between a middle section and an upper section of the attic ladder, means to removably secure a lower section hingedly connected to the middle section of the attic ladder, and a rope and pulley system and a descent rope to facilitate raising and lowering the attic ladder into and out of an attic opening, respectively.
FOLDING PET STAIRCASE
A folding pet staircase consists of frames and treads, wherein, the frame comprises a starting edge, a tread edge and side edges, two sides of the starting edge are connected with the side edges, two sides of the tread edge are connected with the side edges, a tread beam is arranged between the starting edge and the tread edge, baffle fixing plates are embedded in the starting edge, the tread edge and the side edges, and the tread is placed on the tread beam. The fixing plates are fixed to the specific positions by the flexible fabric frames. When the user wants to fold the pet staircase, he/she can fold the pet staircase directly along the crease lines of the fixing plates into a flat sheet structure, thus facilitating storage. The pet staircase can be used for the storage of small pet products such as toys, comb, snacks, etc.
ATTIC STAIR APPARATUS
An improved retractable attic stair apparatus assembly includes a stair component retractable staircase assembly including two shock mount subassemblies, two gas spring subassemblies, and two short railing pipe assemblies. The two short railing pipe assemblies are used as a left and right handrail of the retractable staircase assembly while also supporting the two shock mount subassemblies. The two gas spring subassemblies are at least partially supported by the two shock mount subassemblies. The attic stair apparatus is configured for an installation site in an attic or a garage and includes a first retracted configuration. A deployed configuration allows the apparatus to extend downwardly from the installation site for use of the attic stair apparatus by a user to ascend the attic stair apparatus to access an attic, a garage crawl space, or a garage roof.
Folding attic stairway transport system
A device and system for transporting items up and down a folding attic stairway in a building, such as a residential structure, and into an attic space finally resting securely on the floor of the attic.
