System to deter external climbing of open stairs
The present invention provides a guard which is a surface that is adapted for mounting over the open end of the tread of a step of an open stairway such that when associated with a stairway: the exposed area of the OTEP is reduced. The present invention further provides for a retention means to maintain stable association of the guard with the stairway. The present invention further comprises kits comprising one or more guards, one or more retention means and instructions for use.

Floor or wall covering system with laying units which can be combined in a modular manner
Surface laying unit (100) for laying with other surface laying units (100) on an underlying surface (300), wherein the surface laying unit (100) has a useful layer (102) and a connecting structure (104) which is provided directly on an underside of the useful layer (102) and which is designed for connecting to the underlying surface (300).
Kit of parts for trimming step edges
An apparatus for trimming step edges includes an elongate member forming a nose piece for mounting at an edge of a horizontal existing surface. The member comprises a rear surface, a front face, a top surface extending therebetween, and a groove in the front face of the member. The groove has first and second side walls extending from first and second side edges at the front face and leading to a base recessed therefrom. The member is supported by screws received in the groove in a mounted position wherein the top surface of the member is spaced above the existing surface so that a thickness of a covering material, which disposed on the existing surface for covering same, is located between the top surface and the existing surface. Also, a lighting element is inserted in the groove for illuminating an area adjacent the edge of the existing surface.
FLOORING SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME
A flooring panel comprising a first end, a second end opposite the first end, and an axis extending between the first end and the second end. A tread portion extends between the first and second ends, the tread portion configured to be coupled to a tread of a stair. A curved cap is integrally formed with the tread portion and extends between the first end and the second end, the curved cap configured to be coupled to an edge of the stair. A plurality of grooves is formed in an inner surface of the curved cap, the plurality of grooves extending parallel to the axis of the tread portion, the plurality of grooves extending along a majority of inner surface of the curved cap. A cover member is adhesively coupled to the inner surface and covering the plurality of grooves.
Device and methods for making a stair tread and a molded curved stair tread
A device for making a molded stair tread is described. The device can have: a base; a pivoting assembly; a molding template connected to the pivoting assembly; a holding device connected to the molding template, the holding device having a clamp jaw and a pivot configured to rotate the holding device relative to the molding template; and a locking mechanism configured to hold the molding template and the holding device in an open configuration such that the holding device can accept a first part of the plastic sheet and configured to release the molding template and the holding device such that the holding device is in a securing configuration that secures, via the clamp jaw, the first part of the plastic sheet to the first side of the molding template at the first longitudinal edge of the molding template. Methods for making the stair tread are described as well as the molded stair tread.
Luxury vinyl plank stair noses and other moldings
A molding is made from a first flooring plank. A first groove is formed into the first flooring plank with a first flat bottom surface. A second groove is formed into the first flooring plank with a second flat bottom surface. The first flooring plank is folded at the first groove and second groove. A second flooring plank is disposed adjacent to the molding. A color and pattern of the first flooring plank and second flooring plank match.

STAIR NOSING
An injection molded stair nosing has a tread member, a front portion of which is downwardly and backwardly canted from the horizontal by about 5 to about 7 degrees. The front portion is supported by a plurality of spaced apart support ribs underneath the front portion. Each support rib may have a front concave surface to fit to a curved transition of a stair tread to a stair riser or nose. A back portion of the tread member is tapered to mitigate any interference with the foot or shoe of a user.
