Drainage channel for use in a building wall
10745911 · 2020-08-18 · ·

The disclosure provides example drainage channels, drainage systems, building walls and methods. An example drainage channel includes a drainage panel for conveying water within a building wall. The drainage panel is impermeable and has a first end and a second end. A support panel is coupled to the first end or the second end of the drainage panel such that the support panel is configured to be arranged vertically relative to the building wall. The drainage panel is configured to be arranged either perpendicular to an exterior sheathing of the building wall or angled downward from the first end of the drainage panel toward both the second end of the drainage panel and the exterior sheathing of the building wall.

Temporary corner guard

It is the object of the present invention to improve the stability of temporary corner guards. The Improved Temporary Corner Guard achieves enhanced stability through strategic selection of total device mass, mass distribution, and frictional properties of the selected materials. The Improved Temporary Corner Guard has a total device mass that is higher than commercially available corner guards. The device mass is strategically distributed, with the bulk of the weight residing in the base portion of the device. The device may also employ materials or coatings that have a higher coefficient of friction when placed against the outside corners, which would further enhance the ability to resist being upset if a lateral force is applied during use.

Weep screed

A method of applying a veneer exterior wall system, the method having the steps of attaching a weep screed substantially horizontally on a wall at a location where a veneer has a termination edge; attaching a weather barrier layer over an outward side of the wall, the weather barrier extending downward and terminating at the upper flange; attaching a drainage mat over on an outward side of the weather barrier, the drainage mat extending downward and terminating at the upper flange, wherein the apertures are directly below at least a portion of the drainage mat; attaching a mesh over on an outward side of the drainage mat, the mesh extending downward and terminating at the upper flange; and applying at least one coat of plaster over the mesh, the coat of plaster extending downward and terminating at the upper flange.

Exterior wall system
10683660 · 2020-06-16 · ·

A vertical exterior wall system has an exterior substrate and a control joint disposed on the substrate. A building material such as stucco covers a base plate of the control joint. An A-shaped ridge extends from the based plate of the control joint and is disposed between a first area of the building material and a second area of the building material, defining a gap. A sealant may be disposed in the gap and may cover the A-shaped ridge, adhering to building materials of the first area and the second area.

A self-aligning corner bead for fireproofing structural steel, having a strip of welded wire fabric cut to the appropriate width for the fireproofing thickness and bent longitudinally to form an obtuse V-shaped device is disclosed. A plastic nosing is installed along one edge. A method of finishing the corners for fireproofing of structural steel member using an improved corner bead includes the step of attaching the first wing of an obtuse V-shaped device through a lathe to the structural steel member utilizing pneumatic or screw type fasteners. The mesh structure of the second wing of the V-shaped device provides a dam to form a roughened surface on the first application of fireproofing material until it hardens.
