COLOR-CODED AND SIZED LOADABLE POLYMERIC PARTICLES FOR THERAPEUTIC AND/OR DIAGNOSTIC APPLICATIONS AND METHODS OFPREPARING AND USING THE SAME

Polymeric particles are provided for use in therapeutic and/or diagnostic procedures. The particles include poly[bis(trifluoroethoxy)phosphazene and/or a derivative thereof which may be present throughout the particles or within an outer coating of the particles. The particles may also include a core having a hydrogel formed from an acrylic-based polymer. Such particles may be provided to a user in specific selected sizes to allow for selective embolization of certain sized blood vessels or localized treatment with an active component agent in specific clinical uses. Particles of the present invention may further be provided as color-coded microspheres or nanospheres to allow ready identification of the sized particles in use. Such color-coded microspheres or nanospheres may further be provided in like color-coded delivery or containment devices to enhance user identification and provide visual confirmation of the use of a specifically desired size of microspheres or nanospheres.

20210007976 · 2021-01-14 ·

Disclosed herein are segmented, EVA intravaginal rings that release 17-estradiol and progesterone with specific pharmacokinetics useful for treating, ameliorating, and preventing symptoms associated with menopause and vulvar and vaginal atrophy.

EVA SEGMENTED INTRAVAGINAL RINGS CONTAINING PROGESTERONE
20210000641 · 2021-01-07 ·

Disclosed herein are segmented EVA Rings that contain progesterone that can be used to prevent preterm birth in subjects with a shortened cervix or to treat luteal phase deficiency or as luteal phase support.

METHODS AND COMPOSITIONS FOR TREATMENT OF PENILE DEFECTS
20200405774 · 2020-12-31 ·

Compositions for use in treating penile defects, including erectile dysfunction and Peyronie's disease. Compositions include penile stem cells and isolated penile stem cells substantially free of red blood cells, additives such as amnion, amniotic fluid, extracellular matrix components, growth factors, anti-inflammatories, antioxidants, wound healing agents, and collagenases. Also provided are methods of treating said penile defects in a patient, including implanting a composition of penile stem cells or platelet rich plasma derived from the penis into a patient. Methods include implanting a composition of amnion and/or amniotic fluid into a patient for a penile defect. Also provided are methods of isolating penile stem cells substantially free of red blood cells by providing a whole blood specimen obtained from the penis of a subject; separating the whole blood into fractions containing penile stem cells and the red blood cells from the specimen; and collecting the penile stem cell fraction.

OCULAR DEVICE DELIVERY METHODS AND SYSTEMS

The present disclosure provides an ophthalmic article. The ophthalmic article may comprise a biocompatible matrix comprising a copolymer derived from a caprolactone monomer and at least one other monomer. The ophthalmic article may also comprise an active agent or a diagnostic agent. The ophthalmic article may be configured to associate to a haptic of an intraocular lens (IOL).

DELIVERY SYSTEMS

Methods for manufacturing drug delivery systems are provided. The drug delivery systems may include a substrate coated with at least one polymer and at least one active compound. The substrate may include yarns, yarn precursors, threads, filaments, fibers, and/or other suitable substrates. The methods may include disposing a solution including a monomer and an active compound on the substrate. The methods may also include exposing the solution and the substrate to UV light to initiate polymerization of the solution.

ABSORBABLE IRON-BASED IMPLANTABLE DEVICE

An absorbable iron-based implantable device, including an iron-based substrate and an iron absorption promoter that is attached to the iron-based substrate. The iron absorption promoter is a polymer containing an antioxidant structural unit on the molecular chain thereof. The antioxidant is gradually released as the iron absorption promoter is gradually degraded or broken, and may promote the absorption of iron.
