Housing construction system

A wall surfacing system for providing a secondary ceiling or wall covering structure adjacent a primary structure. The system provides a plurality of elongated structural support rails, each of these support rails have a coupling web with a bearing surface for attachment to the primary structure, a coupling mechanism, and a portion integrally formed with and connecting the coupling web to the coupling mechanism. A plurality of generally planar surface panels are provided. Each panel has an integral interlocking member configured to mate with the coupling mechanism on the support rail. The elongated support rails are secured to primary structures, thereby extending the surface panels to form an aesthetically pleasing covered surface.

A two-piece trim assembly covers the ends of siding used on building exterior walls. The trim assembly includes an L-shaped base and L-shaped cover. The base is secured to the wall first, then the siding strips are attached to the wall such that the ends of the strips are in close proximity to the upstanding leg of the base. Then the cover is installed so that one leg overlies the upstanding leg of the base and the front leg overlies the corners of the siding strips. The inner surface of the base and the outer surface of the cover or color coordinated with the siding strip, with the non-colored surfaces of the base and cover being hidden from view when the base and cover are assembled.

The system includes a first side flashing assembly for fortifying a first side seam between the first blast, ballistic, and forced entry resistant shelter module and the second blast, ballistic, and forced entry resistant shelter module, a top flashing assembly for fortifying a top seam between the first blast, ballistic, and forced entry resistant shelter module and the second blast, ballistic, and forced entry resistant shelter module, and a second side flashing assembly for fortifying a second side seam between the first blast, ballistic, and forced entry resistant shelter module and the second blast, ballistic, and forced entry resistant shelter module. The system can also include fastening assemblies for coupling the flashing assemblies with the blast, ballistic, and forced entry resistant shelter modules.

There is disclosed a system and method for wall panel trim installation. In an embodiment, the system comprises a plurality of horizontal and vertical trim profiles having a back plate adapted to receive a top cap within a bracket, the bracket including a mounting base and walls extending up from either side of the base; and at least one flange formed on the walls and extending outwardly, the at least one flange including a shallow channel; wherein, upon receiving the top cap within the bracket, the at least one flange forming the shallow channel and a portion of the top cap secure an edge of a wall panel therebetween. In an embodiment, the shallow channel formed within the at least one flange is adapted to receive an adhesive or sealant. The top cap is partially received within the bracket such that a clearance is formed between a bottom of the mounting base and a bottom of the top cap. Back plate and top cap pairs allow installation of wall panels placed into position without fasteners.
