SYSTEM FOR TREATING EMBOLISM AND ASSOCIATED DEVICES AND METHODS
Systems and methods for the intravascular treatment of clot material within a blood vessel of a human patient are disclosed herein. A method in accordance with embodiments of the present technology can include, for example, positioning a distal portion of a catheter proximate to the clot material within the blood vessel. The method can further include coupling a pressure source to the catheter via a tubing subsystem including a valve or other fluid control device and, while the valve is closed, activating the pressure source to charge a vacuum. The valve can then be opened to apply the vacuum to the catheter to thereby aspirate at least a portion of the clot material from the blood vessel and into the catheter.
Filtration process and assembly
A filtering process can comprise providing a dispersion comprising a liquid and a plurality of particles contained in the liquid; moving an object relative to the dispersion; selectively removing at least a portion of the plurality of particles from the dispersion to obtain a plurality of separated particles attached to the object. In a further embodiment, an assembly for separating particles from a dispersion can comprise a chamber including a dispersion, the dispersion comprising a liquid and a plurality of particles; a movable object, the object being adapted for moving through the chamber and adsorbing at least a portion of the plurality of particles during moving; a first construction adapted for moving the object relative to the dispersion at a controlled moving speed, and a second construction adapted for removing and collecting from the object a plurality of separated particles from the dispersion.

OPTIMIZATION OF FLUID POOLING
A method (and a system for implementing such method) for creating a plurality of fluid products each having a minimum content of a fluid component includes providing a plurality of intermediate fluid volumes each having a known content of a fluid component. The intermediate fluid volumes are grouped by fluid component content, followed by a determination of whether two of the intermediate fluid volumes may be pooled to achieve the minimum content for a final fluid product. The method proceeds with creating combinations of three and then more intermediate fluid volumes achieving the minimum content for a final fluid product, followed by creating combinations of intermediate fluid volumes exceeding the minimum content. Each intermediate fluid volume is assigned to only one of the combinations, with the intermediate fluid volumes being assigned to the combinations so as to maximize the number of combinations and, thus, the number of final fluid products.

APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR POINT-OF-CARE RED BLOOD CELL WASHING
Apparatus and methods for point-of-care red blood cell washing are disclosed. One method of filtering a suspension of red blood cells may generally comprise introducing a wash solution to the suspension of red blood cells such that a combined volume is retained within a first compartment, applying a sweeping action upon the volume, applying a pressure upon the volume while applying the sweeping action such that the volume is urged through a filter membrane at a predetermined filtration rate, maintaining the filtration rate over a predetermined period of time such that hemolysis is maintained below a threshold level, and collecting the volume within a second compartment.
HAEMOCONCENTRATION DEVICE
A haemoconcentration device comprising membrane filter having both a screen filtration and a depth filtration function.
Cell harvesting apparatus
Disclosed herein is a cell harvesting instrument suitable for concentrating cells from a source suspension of cells and/or washing said cells, the instrument comprising: a housing for accommodating mechanical elements including at least one fluid pump, at least one valve; and a processing kit removably insertable into the housing, said kit including a generally flat frame having or supporting plural sealed fluid paths arranged in a generally flat plane and such that fluids in the paths do not contact said mechanical elements, wherein at least portions of the fluid paths comprise flexible tubes, the outer surfaces of which are manipulateable by the or each fluid pump, to provide fluid flow in one or more of the paths and/or by the or each valve to restrict fluid flow in one or more of the paths. In an embodiment, the kit comprises also a fluid processing reservoir and a filter suitable for separating cells from fluid in said paths. A transfer mechanism for moving and weighing the fluid processing reservoir is disclosed also.
