In one embodiment, a pool filter backwash assembly is described that comprises a pool filter extension configured to be connected to a backwash outlet of a pool filter and a backwash shower head configured to convert a backwash stream from the backwash outlet to a spray directed away from the pool filter. In some embodiments, the pool filter backwash assembly further comprises a backwash shower extension and an angled adapter. In addition, a method of backwashing a pool filter is described in which a pool filter backwash assembly is attached to a backwash outlet of a pool filter.

A water level control system and device is provided which maintains a desired running level of water in a surge tank connected to a pool or other body of water by facilitating automatic drainage of precipitation water from the body of water. The water level control system includes a water level control device configured to open and close a drain in the surge tank. The water level control device can adopt an open position when water in the surge tank is at a first level slightly above the running level, and a closed position in the presence of surge water or water displaced by bathers causing a rapid water rise in the surge tank above first level.

A pool cleaning system for use in cleaning pools. The pool cleaning system contains a pool cleaning cart, a pool vacuum head, and a vehicle mounting bracket. The pool cleaning cart is designed to easily move various pool cleaning equipment from site to site. The pool vacuum head is configured to be attachable to a pole and be used to clean one or more surfaces of the pool located under the surface of the water. The mounting bracket is configured to allow the pool cleaning cart to secure to a vehicle.

A method for treating water in a spa or a hot tub includes, for example, suspending a water treatment dispenser from an upper end of a filter cartridge disposed in a skimmer of the spa or the hot tub. The dispenser includes a water treatment material. A supply of water is passed from the spa or the hot tub into the skimmer and through the filter cartridge so that the dispenser suspended in the filtered water in the filter cartridge is operable to dispense the water treatment material from the dispenser, and a supply of treated filtered water from the filter cartridge is returned to the spa or the hot tub. A cover, for example, may be employed when the dispenser is not used.

A water recycling apparatus and method for a pool filtration system. A holding tank receives backwashed water containing water-borne particles, and is configured to allow for settling of particles into regions of clear water, and lower regions of sediment. Performing a backwash of the filter directs the backwash into the holding tank for settling for at least 24 hours. A recycling outlet in the tank is coupled through the pool filtration system and its valves to allow redirecting this filtered (or recycled/refiltered) water back to the pool, or for other uses, so that it is not directed down a drain, or otherwise wasted. In addition, the liquid portion of the sedimentary regions can be recycled as desired, such as to garden beds, and the lower sedimentary solids disposed of through a sewer connection or manually collected for disposal.

In an embodiment of the present invention, a swimming pool water exchange device is provided. In an embodiment, the device fills fresh water, from a water source, into one or more bags as the old water is pumped from the bottom of the pool. In an embodiment, the water exchange device is further provided with a regulation system. In the embodiment, the regulation system cuts off the fresh water supply if the water level exceeds a predetermined height. Furthermore, the regulation system may shut off the pump if the water level drops below a predetermined height.

There is provided systems and methods for automated water operations for aquatic facilities using at least one image captured of the aquatic facilities. A method includes: receiving an input signal including a detected number of occupants in the water at the aquatic facilities, the number of occupants determined using a trained detection machine learning model, the detection machine learning model receiving the captured image with an associated feature map as input, and outputting a detection of each occupant in the water, the water level machine learning model trained using training images each including a respective label for each occupant in the training image; determining a volume of water to add by multiplying the number of occupants by a predetermined volume of freshwater to add per occupant; and directing one or more water flow regulators to permit inflow of water approximately equivalent to the volume of water to add.

A publicly accessible urban beach entertainment complex is disclosed, with a man-made tropical, pristine-clear lagoon as the centerpiece of the complex, with surrounding entertainment, educational, sports, and commercial facilities, the complex having controlled public access and providing the look and feel of a tropical beach with clear waters and sandy beaches. In addition a method for efficiently utilizing facilities and land that are vacant, underutilized, have limited uses, or that are contiguous to or nearby recreational, educational, sports, or commercial venues is disclosed. The method providing a publicly accessible urban beach entertainment complex with a centerpiece man-made tropical-style pristine-clear lagoon. The method allows for generating revenue and increasing efficiency by pairing vacant sites, underutilized sites, limited use land, or sites that are contiguous to entertainment, educational, sports, and/or commercial venues with urban beach entertainment complexes. The complex preferably has a controlled public access, thereby allowing entrance upon payment of a fee.

A method for treating water in a spa or hot tub includes, for example, supporting one or more water treatment dispensers from a supporting structure in an upper end of a filter cartridge disposed in a skimmer of the spa or the hot tub. A first dispenser includes a first water treatment material and the second dispenser includes a second different water treatment material. A supply of water is passed from the spa or hot tub into the skimmer and through the filter cartridge so that the first dispenser is disposed in the filtered water in the filter cartridge to dispense the first and/or the second water treatment materials from the first and/or dispensers, and a supply of treated filtered water from the filter cartridge to the spa or hot tub. One or more caps, for example, may be employed when the first and/or the second dispenser is not used.
