DOOR POSITION SENSOR FOR AN ELECTROMAGNETIC DOOR LOCK

A door position sensor of an electromagnetic door lock. The electromagnetic lock also includes an electromagnet and a strike plate. The electromagnet is secured to the door frame and the strike plate is movably mounted to the door so that a controlled amount of door movement in the opening direction is permitted while the strike plate remains in contact with an energized electromagnet. The door position sensor may comprise a sensor in or on the electromagnet and a permanent magnet mounted to the door and disposed in proximity to the sensor when the door is in a closed position. The sensor may be a reed switch or a Hall Effect sensor. The permanent magnet and strike plate may be mounted to the door by a mounting tray. The mounting tray may include indicia to aid in providing a proper alignment of the strike plate to the door and electromagnet.

An aircraft door latch apparatus includes a stowage bin assembly having a door that is rotatably moveable between open and closed positions, and a frame structure. The aircraft apparatus includes a latch apparatus that is configured to couple and uncouple the door to the frame structure, the latch apparatus includes a floating strike assembly that pivotably adjusts to a deflection of the stowage bin assembly. Related methods are also provided.

MECHANICAL RELEASE APPARATUS AND METHOD

A latch mechanism is disclosed. The latch mechanism has a first member, and a second member that is rotatable relative to the first member, the second member being rotatable in a first direction between a first position and a second position. The second member contacts the first member and is received by the first member when the second member is in the second position. The first member includes a shape memory alloy portion. The shape memory alloy portion is movable between a first shape when in a first state and a second shape when in a second state. The shape memory alloy portion moves from the first shape to the second shape based on a temperature of the shape memory alloy portion exceeding a threshold transition temperature of the shape memory alloy portion.

B-Pillarless Opposite Sliding Door

Embodiments provide a B-pillarless opposite sliding door in which a hook fastening means is used instead of an upper latch to be installed at an upper end of the B pillarless opposite sliding door. An upper end of a door B-pillar beam, which serves to support a B-pillar, can fastened to a roof part of a vehicle body to ensure a ceiling strength performance when the hook fastening means is applied.

Latch apparatus with independent identical opposing latches

The present latch apparatus includes a swinging piece having first and second independent latches or sliders sliding in first and second slots. The first and second sliders slide independently of each other. The first and second sliders engage an undersurface of an extension of a first object such as a gate. If either the first or second slider is engaged on the undersurface, the swinging piece is locked and is not swingable such that the first object such as the gate cannot itself swing away from a second object such as a barrier section. Only when each of the first and second sliders has been slid beyond the undersurface can the swinging piece swing to permit the first object such as the gate to be released and thus swingable itself relative to the second object such as the barrier section.

Multi-point lock with single actuation and mishandling device and self-aligning engagement

A multi-point locking arrangement is provided. The multi-point locking arrangement includes a primary lock bolt and an auxiliary lock bolt offset from the primary lock bolt. The multi-point locking arrangement, in an embodiment, uses a single actuation motion to transition between locked and unlocked states. The locking arrangement may also include a lockout device that prevents transitioning from the unlocked state to the locked state when the lockout device is not actuated. The locking arrangement may include a biased auxiliary strike plate that cooperate with the auxiliary lock bolt to provide improved alignment and a tighter seal.

LATCH ASSEMBLY FOR AIRCRAFT MONUMENT
20200256091 · 2020-08-13 ·

A latch assembly for selectively preventing a relative movement between first and second components of an aircraft cabin monument, including a latch having a first connection member and a striker plate having a second connection member complementary to and selectively engageable with the first connection member. The engaged latch and striker plate in use are subjected to a load having a use threshold value and a decompression threshold value. The striker plate is designed to have a failure load higher than the use threshold value and lower than the decompression threshold value. The latch has a failure load higher than the use threshold value and higher than the decompression threshold value. A method of tailoring a failure of a latch assembly selectively preventing a relative movement between first and second components of an aircraft cabin monument is also discussed.

Adjustable door lock and associated method

An adjustable door lock includes a catch plate having a body and a plurality of flanges positioned on an exterior face of the body such that a corresponding gap is formed between the body and each of the flanges, respectively. Advantageously, a catch having a channel is adjustably connected to the catch plate wherein the catch is selectively interfitted through at least of one of the gaps. A door plate is disposed adjacent to the catch plate and adapted to be secured to the door. A locking bolt is in communication with the door plate and linearly reciprocated along a first linear path passing along the door plate and the channel. Notably, the catch is automatically adjusted along a second linear path orthogonally registered relative to the first linear path such that the linear channel automatically becomes axially aligned with the locking bolt as the locking bolt ingresses and egresses the catch.

A multi-function latch and latch bolt includes a pair of mechanical fastener to be installed on a gate for the purpose of holding the gate in closed position, and that a person standing on the inside of the fence can disengage the latch hook bracket from the latch bolt, or disengage the latch bolt from the latch hook bracket in any of which method to unlatch and open the gate from inside the fence even when the outside of the latch is locked. On the other hand, when the latch is not locked on the inside but locked on the outside with an incorporated lock, keyed or combination padlock; then a person standing on the outside of the gate may open the gate if he/she has an appropriate key or knows the combination codes in order to unlock, unlatch and open the gate from outside the fence.
