Anti-barricading thumb turn assembly for a door lockset

An anti-barricading thumb turn assembly is configured for use with a lockset including a bolt movable to lock and unlock a door. The anti-barricading thumb turn assembly includes a spindle connected to a thumb turn with a biasing member on one side of the lockset. The lockset is also operable by a key from the other side of the door to lock and unlock the door. Under normal operation, the spindle and thumb turn rotate as the bolt is locked and unlocked. In a barricading situation in which the thumb turn is held in an attempt to prevent the spindle from rotating, the biasing member allows the spindle to rotate relative to the thumb turn upon application of sufficient force through rotation of the key to overcome the biasing force and unlock the bolt even if the thumb turn is held stationary.

LOCKING DEVICE

The invention relates to the field of locks, and discloses a locking device comprising: a latch fixed on an object to be locked for engaging with a bore of a strike, the latch having a bolt configured to lock the object by moving approaching the bore; a spindle, one end of which being detachably connected with the latch for driving the bolt to move towards or away from the bore; and a rotary assembly disposed at an other end of the spindle, a spindle driving means being provided at one end of the rotary assembly adjacent to the spindle and engaged with the other end of the spindle under an external torque to drive the spindle to rotate; wherein the rotary assembly drives the spindle to rotate via the spindle driving means under the external torque, and the spindle drives the bolt to move approaching the bore to realize locking.

Modular bidirectional spring cage

An exemplary apparatus includes a modular, self-contained spring cage and a spindle. The spring cage includes a housing and a clock spring mounted in the housing, and the clock spring includes a first leg and a second leg. The spindle extends through the spring cage, and is rotatable from a home position about a longitudinal axis in each of a first rotational direction and a second rotational direction. Rotation of the spindle from the home position in the first rotational direction causes pivoting of the first leg while the second leg remains stationary, thereby causing the clock spring to urge the spindle to return to the home position. Rotation of the spindle from the home position in the second rotational direction causes pivoting of the second leg while the first leg remains stationary, thereby causing the clock spring to urge the spindle to return to the home position.

RETURN CARTRIDGE FOR DOOR HANDLES

A handle return assembly removably attachable to an escutcheon. The removably attachable assembly may include a housing to be attached to the escutcheon and a hub rotatably disposed within the housing for operably connecting an operating handle to a drive spindle. A torsion spring may bias the hub toward an initial position. At least one stopper plate may interact with the cartridge housing for limiting rotational motion of the hub relative to the housing. Selectively positioning the stopper plate and the spring relative to the housing provides the assembly with the ability to provide a right-handed operation and a left-handed operation.

A vehicle lock device includes a base including an entry groove for entry of a striker, a latch that pivots between a restraining position to restrain the striker and a release position to release the striker and also to allow entry of the striker, a locking lever engaging the latch and holding the latch in the restraining position, and a torsion spring that presses the striker rearward in an entry direction when a first arm portion comes into contact with the striker, and that applies an elastic force to the latch toward the release position when the first arm portion engages the latch. The first arm portion of the torsion spring is disengaged from the latch when the first arm portion is pushed down in the entry direction by the striker.
