Apparatuses, methods, and systems for providing a locking apparatus for resisting movement of an openable element are described. The locking apparatus includes a body, an actuator, a lifting member, at least a portion of the lifting member being configured to be raised or lowered relative to the body according to an output of the actuator, the lifting member comprising a contact surface configured to restrict movement of the openable element, and a strap coupled to the body and to the lifting member, the strap configured to permit the lifting member to flex based at least in part upon contact between the lifting member and the openable element and to transfer energy received at the lifting member into the body of the locking apparatus into a surface to which the locking apparatus is mounted.

Locking apparatuses and methods are provided for controlling access to a space using an improved locking apparatus. The locking apparatus includes a body, an actuator, and a lifting member, at least a portion of the lifting member being configured to be raised or lowered relative to the body according to a command position. The locking apparatus further includes a lifting mechanism configured to receive an output of the actuator and to raise or lower the lifting member responsive to the actuator output, and an adjustment member configured to contact the body and the lifting member. A manual operation-based locking apparatus is provided which uses a foot pedal to lock or unlock the locking apparatus. A method is provided for operating a mounted locking apparatus in a locked or unlocked state.

The lock includes one or more rotatable selectors each having multiple indicia disposed thereon. Rotation of the rotatable selectors to predetermined indicia places the lock in the unlocked position. The lock can further include an electronic port and an actuator. Upon receipt of a predetermined credential via the port, the actuator can place the lock in in the unlocked position. The lock further includes a knob that, when the lock is in the unlocked position, can be rotated between a first position in which the lock is in a closed position and a second position in which the lock is in an open position.

A inner casing member can move in and out of an outer casing member, and a lamp body member can be placed over and removably attached to an outer casing member. An inner casing member can include two or more walls, and a top surface and a bottom surface. An inner casing member can have attachment points for a lead, screw, a lead screw nut, and guide rails. An inner casing member can have a locking mechanism that can keep the inner casing member inside an outer casing member and lamp body. An outer casing can substantially surround an inner casing. An outer casing can have attachment points for an inner casing member to move in and out of through guide rail supports An inner casing member can move in and out of an outer casing member through a motor rotating a lead screw. An electronic controlling member can have a microcontroller that can be connected to a smart phone and can allow a user to send and receive information from a lamp safe system.
