ANTI-PINCH PROTECTION SYSTEM UTILIZING LATCH CONTROL
20220243503 · 2022-08-04 ·

A system for detecting an obstacle between a closure panel and a body of a vehicle, comprising: an actuator for moving the closure panel from a partially closed position to a closed position; a sensor for sensing a position of the closure panel between the partially closed and the closed position; and a controller for receiving position signals from the sensor and for controlling operation of the actuator; wherein the controller is adapted to inhibit moving of the closure panel when the sensor detects an improper change in the position of the closure panel during operation of the actuator.

CLOSURE LATCH ASSEMBLY WITH CINCH MECHANISM AND VARIABLE POWERED ANTI-PINCH CINCH CONTROL
20220259901 · 2022-08-18 ·

A closure latch assembly and method for cinching a closure panel from a partially closed position to a fully closed position without pinching an object between the closure panel and a structural portion of a motor vehicle are provided. The latch assembly has a latch cinch mechanism including a cinch lever operably moveable from a cinch start position to a cinch stop position to cause a cinch link to move a ratchet from a secondary striker capture position to a primary striker capture position. A power-operated cinch actuator receives a first signal to move the cinch lever from the cinch start position to the cinch stop position and receives a second signal, in response to an object detected between the closure panel and the structural portion, to stop moving the cinch lever from the cinch start position toward the cinch stop position.

METHOD FOR OPERATING A MOTOR VEHICLE LOCKING SYSTEM
20220090417 · 2022-03-24 ·

A method for operating a motor vehicle locking system, particularly for acting upon a motor vehicle cover and preferably a motor vehicle door for the purpose of locking it. A drive for the cover is acted upon depending on a pre-locked position and a fully latched position of the cover determined by a sensor. According to the invention, a sensor detects the over-travel beyond the fully latched position, resulting in the motor being driven in a reverse direction irrespective of the previously assumed fully latched position.

Opening and closing system

An opening and closing system includes a first human detection sensor configured to detect a vehicle user who enters a first area defined on a periphery of a vehicle body, a lamp visible by the vehicle user who enters the first area, and a control device configured to control an unlocking operation of the lock device, a closing operation of the striker device, a pop-up operation of the striker device, and switching on and off of the lamp. The control device switches on the lamp when the vehicle user is detected by the first human detection sensor and starts the controlling of the unlocking operation of the lock device and the closing operation and the pop-up operation of the striker device in response to the lamp being switched on.

Vehicle door latch device

Provided is a vehicle door latch device capable of shortening of energization time to an electrical drive source while a moving member is restrained by abutting against a stopper portion and improvement of durability of the electrical drive source. A control unit of the door latch device controls an electric motor for driving a sector gear in a release direction based on a door operation of an operation switch, and controls to stop a power supply to the electric motor when the latch is rotated from the full-latch position to the open position and a full-latch detecting switch is activated while the moving member is brought into abutment with the stopper portion and is stopped.

LOCK COMPRISING A CLOSING DEVICE FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE
20210270065 · 2021-09-02 ·

A lock for a motor vehicle includes a locking mechanism consisting of a rotary latch and at least one pawl, a closing device having an electric drive, wherein the locking mechanism can be transferred from a pre-locking position into a main locking position by the closing device, and a control unit for the closing drive, wherein a closing operation can be prevented in accordance with a measurement variable of the closing drive, and wherein the closing operation can be prevented in accordance with a determinable deviation from a setpoint value curve.

MOTOR-VEHICLE DOOR LOCK
20210230911 · 2021-07-29 ·

A motor-vehicle door lock, which is equipped with a locking mechanism, comprising a rotary latch and at least one pawl, and with a closing drive and an opening drive for the locking mechanism. The rotary latch can be transferred into an overtravel position by means of the closing drive. According to the invention, in order to open the locking mechanism, the rotary latch is held in the overtravel position by means of the closing drive. In this way, the opening drive can open the pawl and subsequently the closing drive can travel back when the locking mechanism is open.

MOTOR-VEHICLE DOOR LOCK

A motor vehicle door lock, more particularly a flap lock or a hood lock. The basic design of the motor vehicle door lock is equipped with a locking mechanism substantially consisting of a rotary latch and a pawl. There is also a motorized closing aid which has a motor and also a first lever, which is acted upon by the motor, and a second lever. The two levers are hinged to each other. According to the invention, during the lowering of a flap or hood, the second lever first of all carries out a movement, which is controlled by the rotary latch, while simultaneously freewheeling in relation to the first lever. Only following the freewheeling does the first lever, which is then driven, act upon the second lever, in order to close the rotary latch.

CLOSING DEVICE FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE LOCK
20240003169 · 2024-01-04 · ·

A closing device for a motor vehicle lock, in particular to a closing aid for a motor vehicle door lock. According to its basic design, said closing aid has a locking mechanism substantially consisting of a rotary latch and a pawl. Furthermore, an electric motor and a transmission following the electric motor are realized. The transmission operates on the rotary latch at least during a closing operation. According to the invention, for the mechanical interruption of the closing operation, the transmission has a force flux element which can be selectively engaged and disengaged.

Door drive system

A door drive assembly including: a drive arm including a first end configured to be rotatably coupled to the body and a second end configured to be rotatably coupled to the door. The door drive assembly also includes a drive mechanism coupled to the drive arm and configured to rotate the drive arm between an open position and a closed position. The door drive assembly also includes a control arm including a first end configured to be rotatably coupled to a vehicle body and a second end configured to be rotatably coupled to the door. The door drive assembly also includes a race configured to be disposed between the body and the first end of the control arm where the first end of control arm is configured to translate by a first distance along the race as the drive arm rotates between the open and closed positions.
