An overhead garage door opening and closing system for a building structure having a track system comprising a pair of spaced apart tracks; a plurality of hinged door panels hingedly connected together to form the door; a plurality of track wheel assemblies disposed at said door panels, wherein each of said plurality of track wheel assembly comprises a shaft and a wheel rotatably mounted at said shaft and rotatable about an axis of rotation of said wheel, and wherein said door panels move along said tracks via rolling engagement of said wheels of said track wheel assemblies with said tracks as said door panels move between an opened position and a closed position; wherein said track wheel assemblies, when disposed at said door panels, are configured to allow for movement of the respective door panel relative to said wheels in a direction generally normal to said axes of rotation of said wheels and generally normal to a direction of travel of said wheels along said tracks; a door moving assembly that functions to move each of said door panels toward the building structure when the door is moved toward and to its closed position; and wherein, when said door moving assembly moves said door panels toward the building structure as the door closes, said door panels move relative to said wheels and toward the building structure and away from said axes of rotation and said wheels at said track.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONVERTING AN OVERHEAD DOOR INTO A GATE OR SERVING WINDOW TO FACILITATE ENTERTAINMENT AND OTHER PURPOSES
20200355023 · 2020-11-12 · ·

A system is disclosed for converting an overhead door into a gate or serving window, the system having at least two rows of panels spanning the width of the door, one panel located above and adjacent to the other panel, a pair of rails opposite one another and adjacent to the panels, the panels traveling within the rails to move from a closed position to an open position, and at least one hinge connecting the lower row of panels to the upper row of panels, the hinge having an upper half attached to the upper row of panels and a lower half attached to the lower row of panels, the upper and lower halves of the hinge connected by a removable central pin, wherein the upper row of panels moves from the closed position to the open position when the central pin is removed from the hinge.

Overhead door header with maximum clearance

Embodiments of the invention provide a header for enclosing a counterbalance assembly for use with an overhead door assembly. The header comprises a top surface, a rear surface coupled to a rear end of the top surface, a bottom surface coupled to a bottom end of the rear surface, and at least one reinforcement member disposed rearward of the counterbalance assembly and forward of the rear surface. The at least one reinforcement member provides necessary reinforcement to the header while allowing for a vertical height of the header to be minimized.

Motor-operable and vertically movable gate

The present invention relates to a gate with a gate panel, comprising several gate panel sections which are hingedly coupled to each other by way of hinges, where a hinge comprises two hinge panels of adjacent gate panel sections, at least one elongate drive means which is connected to at least one gate panel section, and at least one guide means which is suitable to guide the gate panel during its motion. In order to optimize the gate with regard to its installation space, in particular in the width and depth direction, and to ensure simple and inexpensive yet at the same time still reliable operation of the gate, it is proposed to arrange the elongated drive means at least in sections received in the gate panel section.

Hinged bottom roller assembly and counterbalance mechanism for overhead door

A door having a door body that can be lifted, along a predetermined path, from a closed position in which it closes a wall opening into an open position in which it is located substantially overhead, the door body having two, three or more door body elements arranged one on top of the other in the closed position, is modified according to the invention in that a lower edge of the door body in the closed position and trailing during the lifting can be lifted separately, when the door reaches the open position, by a pivoting movement of a lower door body element having said edge in a lifting direction with respect to a door body element situated above it in the closed position relative to the predetermined path.

Hinge cover

A hinge cover for preventing damage to a vehicle or other object caused by contact with one or more hinge of a vertically opening door. Hinges which may be covered with a hinge cover may include leaves connected together by an axial barrel with opposite ends defining openings. A hinge cover may comprise a generally wedge-shaped body and an axial connector removably insertable in a respective barrel end opening to removably attach the hinge cover to the hinge. The body may include a downwardly-sloping ramp and a pair of opposed sidewalls which receive the barrel therebetween. In embodiments, an axial connector comprises a pair of opposed coaxial tabs extending from a respective sidewall which can each be inserted into a respective end opening of the barrel to removably attach the hinge cover to the hinge. The hinge cover shields a vehicle or other object in the path of the hinge from direct or glancing damaging contact by the hinge.

SPRING-BIASED GARAGE DOOR ROLLER
20200240187 · 2020-07-30 ·

The spring-biased garage door roller is configured for use with a garage door. The garage door comprises the garage door, a plurality of tracks, a plurality of roller wheels, and a plurality of compression springs. The plurality of roller wheels and the plurality of compression springs combine to attach the garage door to the plurality of tracks. The plurality of tracks guide the motion of the plurality of roller wheels. There is a one to one correspondence between the plurality of roller wheels and the plurality of compression springs. Each individual compression spring generates a motive force that urges its associated individual roller wheel into a track selected from the plurality of tracks.

GARAGE DOOR NOISE REDUCTION ROLLER ASSEMBLY HAVING THREADS WHICH EXTEND TO THE DISTAL END OF THE ROLLER SHAFT, AND A THREADED CLOSING MEMBER
20200190878 · 2020-06-18 ·

A roller with a plastic injection tube to coat the steel shaft wherein the plastic coated shaft eliminates the metal-to-metal contact that creates the noise. Further disclosed is an improved roller wheel having a tire made of material selected from the group consisting of urethane and urethane (PER) on which the roller will roll within a garage door track to significantly reduce the noise of the roller as it rolls inside the garage door tracks as the garage door is raised and lowered. The roller shaft has the treads extending to a distal end of the roller shaft where a plastic washer and a closing cover nut with interior threads are threaded onto the distal end of the roller shaft. The closing cover nut with interior threads is selected from an acorn nut with a nylon insert and a hex lock nut with a nylon insert.
