DOOR CLOSER WITH POWER CLOSE

A door closer may utilize a door closing device (e.g., spring) and a force adjustment device (e.g., a motor) in order to allow for manual door opening and assisted door closing. During operation, as a door is manually opened, the spring is loaded (e.g., compressed or tensioned) above its pre-loaded closed position state. Once manual opening is completed, the spring that is loaded during opening begins returning to the pre-loaded closed position state, and thus, moves the door automatically towards the closed position. Depending on the pre-loaded spring setting, the closing force of the door may not be enough to close the door, or to close the door with the preferred force. As such, during closing a controller may engage a motor not to drive the door directly, but to increase the pre-load of spring to increase the closing force in order to allow the door to close as preferred.

NETWORKED DOOR CLOSER

A door closer assembly for an entryway device having a position sensor that assists in determining the location of the door closer assembly, and thus the location of the associated entryway device, relative to at least an entryway. The position sensor can be coupled to, and/or part of, the door closer assembly. Information obtained by the position sensor may be used by one or processing devices of an access control system to determine whether the door closer assembly and/or the entryway device is at the closed location, among other locations, as well as the direction(s) of displacement of the entryway device. Such information may be utilized in calibrating other devices, as well as determining the occurrence of a number of events, including unauthorized displacement or holding of the entryway device. A timer may also be utilized to further evaluate the nature of the displacement of the entryway device.

ELECTRIC SIDE DOOR DRIVE ASSEMBLY FOR A VEHICLE

An electric side door drive assembly for a vehicle having a length-adjustable electric actuator to bring about opening and closing of the side door, and a door movement sensor unit designed to detect stopping and a current position of the side door during opening or closing of the side door. In the event of stopping of the side door detected by the door movement sensor unit, a controller determines, on the basis of side door position data provided by the door movement sensor unit, a necessary current strength which is to be supplied to the electric motor to hold the side door in its current position, and to deliver the necessary current strength to the motor of the actuator for a holding operation.

A device for locking a leaf of a door or the like comprising at least one electric motor operated as a generator having a motor shaft which is operatively connected to the leaf via a force transmission unit. The motor terminals of at least one electric motor operated as a generator are connected in this regard to a damping circuit for damping the leaf movements. The motor shaft of at least one electric motor operated as a generator is acted on by a brake unit to lock the leaf.

FIXING AND/OR EMERGENCY OPENING SYSTEM
20180223585 · 2018-08-09 ·

A system for the fixing and/or emergency opening of a leaf of a door, a window or the like comprises a drive having at least one mechanical energy storage device, which is charged by an opening movement of the leaf and is discharged by a closing movement of the leaf, at least one electric motor, the motor shaft of which is operatively connected to the leaf, and open-loop and/or closed-loop control electronics for actuating the electric motor. The electric motor can be actuated by means of the open-loop and/or closed-loop control electronics both for generator-like damping of the leaf movements and for fixing of the leaf against the force of the mechanical storage device and/or for electric motor-driven emergency opening of the leaf, in that the electric motor additionally can be supplied with external electrical energy from an external device, in particular such as a smoke detector control unit, a smoke and heat extraction control unit or the like, for the fixing and/or emergency opening of the leaf.
