Illuminated latch
A system for a replenishment door of a vehicle includes a body having a port and defining a latch aperture, a door pivotably attached to the body with a hinge, a system controller, and a latch assembly. The door is pivotable between a closed position and an open position. The latch assembly is configured for securing the door to the housing in the closed position. Further, the latch assembly includes a housing and a light source disposed within the housing, the light source being configured to project light through the housing, and the system controller being configured to control an intensity of the light source.
Door opening and closing device for refrigerator and method of controlling the same
A door opening and closing device for a refrigerator includes a door coupled to a main body, an opening and closing unit including a drive unit for generating rotational force by means of a motor and a door rotating mechanism for opening or closing the door, a device for measuring a back electromotive force generated from the motor, a power circuit connected for supplying power to the motor, a circuit for transmitting back electromotive force of the motor to the device, a control switch for selectively connecting the motor to the circuit or the power circuit, and a control unit for connecting the control switch to the power circuit when the motor is activated, and connecting the control switch to the circuit and opening or closing the door when the motor is deactivated, wherein the control unit closes the door when a predetermined back electromotive force is input to the device.
Security devices for doors
A door security device for preventing opening of a door. A first device includes a bar that seats against a doorframe on opposite sides of the door and a clamp that clasps a door latch and applies a force to draw the bar against the doorframe while pulling the door latch toward the bar. The door cannot be opened away from the bar. A second device has a bar that seats against a doorframe at the floor with a two plates that extend beneath the door and around to opposite sides of the doorframe. Removable pins or other locks obstruct the plates from sliding along the bar. The bar is tall enough that the door cannot pass over the bar, thus obstructing the door from opening inwardly. A closer cover slides over a mechanical door closing mechanism to be used alone or with the other devices.
Actuator Assembly for Moving a Sliding Door or Window
An actuator assembly (100) for moving a sliding door or window (10), the actuator assembly (100) including: a motor assembly (110) attachable to a frame (20) of the sliding door or window (10); a rod (120) driveable by the motor assembly (110), the rod (120) having a thread (122); a block (130) that is engaged with and driveable by the thread (122) of the rod (120); a connector (150) engaged at a first end (152), with the block (130), and engageable at a second end (154) with the sliding door or window (10), such that actuation of the motor assembly (110) to drive the rod (120) causes movement of the block (130) along the rod (120), which causes movement of the connector (150) for moving the sliding door or window (10).
Pre-Biased Delayed Emergency Release
The manual release mechanism described herein enables a passenger to attempt to manually open the transit door but delays opening until the vehicle is no longer moving. A motion transfer device (14) moves to an unlocking position of the door lock (10) only when the manual release mechanism is activated to release store energy in a mechanical energy storage device (40) and an electromechanical device (26) is de-energized to release the motion transfer device (14).
IMAGE READING APPARATUS
An image reading apparatus includes a reading unit, a hinge connected to the reading unit, and a cover connected to the hinge. The image reading apparatus further includes a decelerator configured to apply a damping resistance to a particular gear of the hinge, as a planet gear engages with the particular gear during movement of the cover from an open position to a closed position.
Adjustable hangar hinge
A hanger hinge for a folding door, window or similar closure having one or more panels, the hanger hinge comprising: A hanger bolt having a receiving portion in a lower end thereof adapted to receive at least a portion of an adjusting tool; A sleeve adapted to be supported on the lower end of the hanger bolt; At least one hinge leaf pivotally mounted on the hanger bolt and adapted to be fixed to a respective panel; and A locking mechanism comprising a locking member movable axially between a locked condition in which the locking member is engaged with the sleeve in a manner to substantially preclude rotation of the hanger bolt relative to the sleeve, and an unlocked condition in which the locking member is disengaged from the sleeve by axial insertion of the adjusting tool into the receiving portion, thereby freeing the hanger bolt for rotation relative to the sleeve.
Power Retractable Tonneau Cover
A powered truck bed tonneau cover includes a handle operating a clutch to engage and disengage an electric motor from the tonneau cover. The handle is operable whenever the tonneau cover is open. A Hall sensor measures the position of the cover and a user may select closed and open positions for powered operation. A drive assembly of the powered truck bed tonneau cover resides just behind the cab and urges the cover into a spiral to avoid binding.
SECURITY-ENHANCED GARAGE DOOR OPENER SYSTEM
This invention is about an improved garage door opener system, with design features for preventing garage door break-in from outside of the garage using an object such as a hanger. Typically, a person pulls down a cord connected to a release handle to release emergency release of a garage door opener, allowing the door to be manually open or closed. An unauthorized person may attempt to pull down the cord using a hanger from outside the garage or to pull or push down the release handle, to open the door from outside and gain unauthorized entrance. The improved garage door opener system provides a mechanism to reverse the pulling direction of the cord and also protects release handle from being accessed from outside the garage, for increased security.
