Motorized door opening device
A motorized door opening device, including at least one wheel, configured to be lowered to a surface and forced thereagainst with a force sufficient to ensure friction between the wheel and the surface and to prevent slipping of the wheel relative to the surface; an electric motor including a rotor coupled to rotate the wheel; a wheel actuator, coupled between the door and the wheel, to lower the wheel to the surface in response to a wheel lowering signal; and control circuitry to signal the wheel actuator to lower the wheel by generating the wheel lowering signal and push down the wheel to create friction; and a door attachment member to attach the motor and the wheel actuator to a bottom part of the door;
whereby rotation of the wheel after lowering of the wheel causes the wheel to rotate in contact with the surface and move the door.
Determining motion of a moveable platform
In some examples, to perform motion detection of a moveable platform, variance values based on acceleration data from an accelerometer on the moveable platform are computed. Using the computed variance values, it is determined whether the moveable platform is in motion.
VEHICLE STORAGE COMPARTMENT
A storage compartment for the vehicle is disclosed herein. The storage compartment includes a receptacle. A door is coupled to the receptacle and is operable between an open position and a closed position. A sensors coupled to the door and is configured to sense a user input. An actuator is configured to allow the door to move from the closed position to the open position in response to the sensor, sensing the user input, wherein the actuator is electrically coupled to the sensor when the door is in the closed position and is electrically disconnected from the sensor, when the door is in the open position.
NETWORKED DOOR CLOSER
A door closer assembly for an entryway device having a position sensor that assists in determining the location of the door closer assembly, and thus the location of the associated entryway device, relative to at least an entryway. The position sensor can be coupled to, and/or part of, the door closer assembly. Information obtained by the position sensor may be used by one or processing devices of an access control system to determine whether the door closer assembly and/or the entryway device is at the closed location, among other locations, as well as the direction(s) of displacement of the entryway device. Such information may be utilized in calibrating other devices, as well as determining the occurrence of a number of events, including unauthorized displacement or holding of the entryway device. A timer may also be utilized to further evaluate the nature of the displacement of the entryway device.
Movable barrier opener with brushless DC motor
A movable barrier opener system having a multiphase brushless DC motor in the drive assembly is provided. The multiphase brushless DC motor may impart motive force to a movable barrier in response to barrier movement instructions from the barrier operator controller to the drive assembly. The barrier operator controller of the movable barrier opener system is configured to detect a back EMF of at least one winding of the multiphase brushless DC motor and determines a position of the movable barrier and/or determines a torque of the multiphase brushless DC motor in response to the detected back EMF. A position sensor and a back EMF sensor module provides actual operating parameters to the controller.
Systems and methods for preventing garage door from closing on opened-liftgate
A vehicle includes a liftgate system for preventing a garage door from closing on a liftgate when the liftgate is open. The liftgate system includes the liftgate and a processor. The liftgate includes an external-facing sensor. The processor is to, when a garage door is open, determine whether the liftgate is in a closing path of the garage door. When the liftgate is in the closing path, the processor causes the liftgate to be lowered to an intermediate position between a fully open position and a fully closed position.
METHOD FOR CONTROLLING DOOR MOVEMENTS OF THE DOOR OF A MOTOR VEHICLE, AND MOTOR VEHICLE COMPONENT
A method for controlling door motions of a controllable door of a motor vehicle, wherein a control device and a sensor arrangement are assigned to the door, and the door includes a controllable motion influencing device. A motion of a door wing of the door can be controlled and influenced by the motion influencing device to alternate between a closed position and an open position. The sensor arrangement includes a surround sensor and monitors the surroundings of the door. The control device captures the signals from the sensor arrangement and evaluates the movement of an object in the surroundings of the door relative to the door and actively moves the door wing of the door, to prevent a collision with the object or to reduce its effects.
METHOD FOR CONTROLLING DOOR MOVEMENTS OF THE DOOR OF A MOTOR VEHICLE, AND MOTOR VEHICLE COMPONENT
A method for controlling door movements of a controllable door of a motor vehicle, and a motor vehicle component. A control device and a sensor arrangement are attributed to the door. The door has a controllable motion influencing device, wherein a motion of a door wing of the door can be controlled and influenced by way of the motion influencing device to alternate between a closed position and an open position. The control device obtains position data which are representative of the geographic position of the motor vehicle and the control device controls movements of the door wing in dependence on the position data.
METHOD FOR CONTROLLING DOOR MOVEMENTS OF THE DOOR OF A MOTOR VEHICLE, AND MOTOR VEHICLE COMPONENT
A method for controlling the movements of a controllable door of a motor vehicle that has two or more doors with movable door wings. One door is a main door and at least one other door is a secondary door. A control device and a sensor arrangement are associated to the doors. The secondary door includes a controllable motion influencing device, wherein a motion of the door wing of the secondary door can be at least partially controlled and influenced by way of the motion influencing device between a closed position and an open position. The motion influencing device brakes or arrests a door wing of the secondary door in the closed position for a predetermined time period after the main door has been opened, and/or in dependence on an identified situation.
METHOD FOR CONTROLLING DOOR MOVEMENTS OF THE DOOR OF A MOTOR VEHICLE, AND MOTOR VEHICLE COMPONENT
A method of controlling the movements of at least one controllable door of a motor vehicle and a motor vehicle component. A control device and a sensor arrangement are assigned to the door, and the door has a controllable motion influencing device. A motion of a door wing of the door can be controlled and influenced by way of the motion influencing device in between a closed position and an open position. The sensor arrangement includes a distance sensor in the movable door wing that captures distance data during the motion, and obtains from the distance data captured with the distance sensor in different angular positions, the position of at least one object in the surrounding area of the door wing, by way of triangulation.
