ENTRYWAY SEALING SPACER
20180305975 · 2018-10-25 · ·

A gasket for an entryway is described that includes a compliant sealing portion having an uncompressed gasket thickness and a less compliant compression control portion having opposing exposed surfaces. A perimeter of the less compliant compression control portion is surrounded by the compliant sealing portion. A thickness of the less compliant compression control portion is less than the uncompressed gasket thickness.

DOOR ASSEMBLY

A door assembly is shown and described herein. The door assembly may include at least one door panel and a door frame having a plurality of frame members including a header and a mullion. The invention may also be considered a frame member. The frame member may be a mullion and include a core; and a two-piece top piece adjoining the core to form a structural member. The door assembly may further include at least one adjacent panel. The inventions disclosed are also applicable to jambs and window structures. Also disclosed are methods and assemblies for a mullion door frame member.

Thermal frame

The invention features a refrigerator cabinet door frame. The frame includes a thermally conductive outer frame, a thermally insulating inner frame member, and a sealing plate. The outer frame member includes a forward end having an outer surface that is disposed outside of a refrigerated cabinet with the frame mounted, and a rearward end defining a joint. The inner frame member includes a first end retained in the joint, and a second end. The sealing plate includes a first edge coupled to the outer frame member at the rearward end, forward of the joint, a second edge supported by the second end of the inner frame member, and a thermally conductive sealing surface. The first edge of the sealing plate is coupled to the outer frame member such that the sealing surface and the outer surface of the outer frame member together form a continuous heat transfer path.

Reinforced mull post assembly

A composite reinforced mull post is disclosed for use in an entryway assembly. The mull post may engage a door on one side and a side light window on the other side. The mull post may comprise a one or two-piece outer portion and one or more internal reinforcing members. The outer portion may comprise a plurality of interlocking pieces. A first internal reinforcing member may be formed of engineered material such as a wood laminate, and a second reinforcing member may comprise a channel that extends partially around the first reinforcing member. The reinforcing member may include orthogonal portions conterminously received within a correspondingly shaped central chamber formed by the housing formed by the joined interlocking pieces. The reinforcing member may include an upper wood portion and a lower durable portion, connected end to end by a glued finger joint.

Adjustable mullion receptacle

An adjustable mullion receptacle includes a two-sided safety block adapted to sit in the well portion of the mullion receptacle. A receiving block face side of the block is adapted to fit into the hollow bottom of a hollow mullion tube. The opposite side of the block defines a smooth safety face that can be used to set in the receptacle well when the mullion is removed for any purpose. The block then fills the well and provides a smooth surface over the receptacle well.

MODULAR STOREFRONT SYSTEM

A storefront system includes an outer frame having a top piece, a first side piece, a second side piece, and a bottom piece. The top piece has a glass receiving surface, an inner base cap receiving structure, and an outer base cap receiving structure. The first side piece has a glass receiving surface, an inner base cap receiving structure, and an outer base cap receiving structure. The second side piece has a glass receiving surface, an inner base cap receiving structure, and an outer base cap receiving structure. The bottom piece has a bottom piece cross section defined by a glass receiving surface. The storefront system has at least one inner base cap, at least one outer base cap, and glass. The storefront system may also include one or more vertical mullions and one or more horizontal mullions and/or include hinged doors.

A platform landing door casement includes a platform face; a casement frame with first and second lateral uprights separated from one another by cross members to delimit a glazing opening; a glass pane mounted in the glazing opening by being received in the lateral uprights and the cross members; a glazing bead mounted removably on one of the lateral uprights by reversible fixing means; and a glazing bead cover mounted removably on the glazing bead. The glazing bead and the glazing bead cover being mounted on the platform face side and the casement further including, on the platform face side, a protective trim for locking and securing the glazing bead cover on the glazing bead.

Electrical mullion receptacle

A door mullion receptacle box assembly includes a toe plate, a channel box and block components. When a mullion is removed from a building/room opening, the toe plate may be fixed in the mullion receptacle box thus creating a uniform threshold across the width of the door openings. Using the assembly described herein, however, there are no large diameter holes in the top of the toe plate and no projections into the opening that could be a trip hazard. The present assembly replaces traditional fixed sill blocks mounted to the floor, or to the top of a threshold to anchor the bottom of conventional mullions. A typical mullion is locked in place with a lock at the top of the mullion. When installed, this mullion is placed over the sill block at the sill and tilted into place and locked into a header block at the top of the mullion. However because the components of the conventional sill blocks project up into the mullion from the thresholds, they become a trip hazard and a liability when the mullion is temporarily removed.
