CASSETTE FOR A CONSOLE OF AN OPHTHALMOSURGICAL SYSTEM, AND OPHTHALMOSURGICAL SYSTEM
A cassette for a console of an ophthalmosurgical system for treating an eye is configured for insertion into a cassette receiving region of the console and has a fluid pump configured to deliver a treatment fluid, a tube for attachment to a handpiece, and a connection unit secured against detachment, of a cassette-side end of the tube to a cassette housing of the cassette. The connection unit includes an attachment stub arranged on the cassette housing and has a through opening for the treatment fluid, and a plug-in connector arranged on the cassette-side end of the tube and likewise has a through opening for the treatment fluid, with the plug-in connector, when it is connected to the attachment stub, being held in a fluid-tight manner with respect to the attachment stub and so as to be able to rotate about a longitudinal axis of the through opening.
OPHTHALMIC SURGICAL CARTRIDGE
An ophthalmic surgical cartridge has a fluid pump with a pump chamber and a drive chamber which are separated by a fluid-tight and ion-tight partition element. A body fluid is suppliable to the pump chamber and a drive fluid is suppliable to the drive chamber. A deformation or change in position of a portion of the partition element is achievable with the drive fluid which increases the second volume in size and decreases the first volume in size to drain the body fluid from the pump chamber. The drive chamber has a front side wall with an edge zone in which only a single passage opening is provided, through which the drive fluid is suppliable into the drive chamber to fill the drive chamber with the drive fluid, and through which said drive fluid can be drained from the drive chamber to remove the drive fluid from the drive chamber.
METHOD FOR OPERATING A FLUID PUMP, AND OPHTHALMOSURGICAL SYSTEM WITH SAME
A method for operating a fluid pump of an ophthalmosurgical system for conveying a treatment fluid is provided. The fluid pump has a pump chamber and a drive chamber separated from the latter with an elastic partition element and which is acted upon by a drive fluid. A position of the partition element is detected. The method includes subjecting the drive fluid to a first drive pressure, detecting a treatment fluid pressure present in the first position of the partition element, subjecting the drive fluid to a further drive pressure, at which the partition element adopts a further position, detecting the at least one further position of the partition element, and a further treatment fluid pressure present in this further position, and taking into account the treatment fluid pressures and drive pressures present in the respective positions account in the operation of the fluid pump.
Medicine delivery, wash, clean and air dry system
The present disclosure provides a toilet seat assembly for delivering medicine, washing, cleaning, and drying a perineal region of a user. The toilet seat assembly includes a spraying nozzle assembly having one or more retractable spray nozzle units for delivering a liquid product, a drying nozzle assembly having one or more retractable drying nozzle units for drying the region, and a medicine delivery assembly for delivering a medicinal product to the region, the medicine delivery assembly having a medicine delivery nozzle connected to a medicine storage element containing the medicinal product.
Dual pump arthroscopic irrigation/aspiration system with outflow control
A fluid pump system having a first fluid pump for pumping fluid from a source to a surgical site and a second fluid pump for removing fluid from the surgical site at a first predetermined rate, wherein said fluid pump system intermittently operates in conjunction with a surgical tool which, when operational, removes fluid from the surgical site at a second predetermined rate greater than said first predetermined rate, the improvement including a sensor for sensing a predetermined parameter of the surgical tool and providing an output signal indicating that the surgical tool is operating; and an actuating means responsive to said output signal to actuate said second fluid pump to remove fluid from the surgical site at second predetermined rate.
Phacoemulsification surgical multi-use pack usage tracker system
A surgical cassette/pack usage tracker for tracking a number of uses for a cassette/pack to prohibit uses from exceeding a maximum amount. A usage tracker system engages with or scans a portion of the cassette/pack to determine the number of uses. In illustrative embodiments, an implement interacts with a film in the cassette after each use and determines remaining uses for the cassette/pack. In other embodiments, an implement interacts with a rotatable wheel that rotates with each use, the implement configured to permit the tracker to identify the number uses and determine remaining uses for the cassette/pack. When a maximum usage amount is reached, the tracker system may issue a warning, eject or reject the cassette/pack and/or disable the surgical device from further use.
Integrated pump control for dynamic control of plasma field
A pump and a pump controller which uses an algorithm to quickly achieve and maintain a stable plasma field in a surgical site are provided. The algorithm calculates an electrical characteristic value to determine if a suction rate by the pump should be increased or decreased to achieve the stable plasma field. A method of using the pump and the pump controller is also provided.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR POST-OCCLUSION BREAK SURGE MITIGATION
A surgical cassette for an ophthalmic surgical system includes an irrigation system, an aspiration system, and a computer. The irrigation system is in fluid communication with a handpiece and carries fluid toward a surgical site. The aspiration system is in fluid communication with the handpiece via an aspiration conduit and carries fluid away from the surgical site. The computer instructs the aspiration system to vibrate fluid back and forth within the aspiration conduit to perform a priming procedure.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR POST-OCCLUSION BREAK SURGE MITIGATION
A surgical cassette for an ophthalmic surgical system includes an irrigation system and an aspiration system. The irrigation system is in fluid communication with a handpiece and carries fluid toward a surgical site. The aspiration system is in fluid communication with the handpiece and carries fluid away from the surgical site. The aspiration system includes an aspiration pump and tubing of an aspiration conduit. The aspiration pump generates a normal vacuum pressure within the aspiration conduit to carry fluid away from the surgical site during normal operation. The tubing has a larger cross-sectional area in response to normal vacuum pressure. The tubing collapses from the larger cross-sectional area to a smaller cross-sectional area in response to an occlusion; maintains the smaller cross-sectional area during a post-occlusion break surge to mitigate the post-occlusion break surge; and returns to the larger cross-sectional area after the post-occlusion break surge.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR POST-OCCLUSION BREAK SURGE MITIGATION
A surgical cassette for an ophthalmic surgical system comprises an irrigation system and an aspiration system. The irrigation system is in fluid communication with a handpiece and carries fluid toward a surgical site. The aspiration system is in fluid communication with the handpiece via an aspiration conduit, and carries fluid away from the surgical site. The aspiration system comprises a chamber that expands to store fluid, and collapses to move the fluid to meet a volume demand in the aspiration conduit to mitigate a post-occlusion break surge.
