20190358390 · 2019-11-28 ·

The invention relates to a device, a system and a method for carrying out a lavage-like, repetitive supply and draining of a flushing, cleaning or other therapeutically active substance, in particular in the context of an evacuation by irrigation of a patient's colon. The device has a bag unit or bag/hose unit which has a combined flushing and collecting function and also at least one flow-directing function which prevents flushing liquid which has already been drained into the bag from flowing back towards the patient. The invention also relates to the combination of the bag unit or bag/hose unit with a catheter unit which can be placed in position in a permanent and atraumatic manner, is positioned trans-anally, seals off the anal canal, preferably by means of a dumbbell-shaped balloon component, and can be left in the patient's rectum, preferably after lavage is complete.

Wound debridement by irrigation with ultrasonically activated microbubbles

A treatment system for debriding a treatment area of a tissue site and applying negative pressure is disclosed. In some embodiments, the treatment system may include an ultrasonic bubble generator fluidly coupled to a negative-pressure source, fluid source, and a dressing. Fluid may be drawn from the fluid source to the ultrasonic bubble generator, whereby micro-bubbles and ultrasonic waves may be generated in the fluid before the fluid is instilled to the dressing.

SURGICAL FLUID MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS AND METHODS

A fluid management system for use with a fluid reservoir includes an inflow pump and an outflow pump. The inflow pump is connectable to a probe for delivering a distention fluid to a body cavity. The outflow pump removes the distention fluid through the same probe, thus establishing a re-circulating volume of distention fluid within the body cavity. The removed fluid is filtered and returned to a fluid reservoir for eventual recycling to the body cavity. A controller adjusts the flow rates of the inflow pump and the outflow pump to maintain a pre-selected fluid pressure or volume within the body cavity.

NASAL IRRIGATOR

A nasal irrigator includes a nasal irrigator body, a nasal irrigator handle, a clean water tank, and a dirty water tank. The clean water tank and the dirty water tank are both arranged on a side of the nasal irrigator body, and a water inlet pump communicated with the clean water tank and a dirty water pump communicated with the dirty water tank are provided inside the nasal irrigator body. The nasal irrigator body is provided with an insertion hole configured to fix the nasal irrigator handle, and the nasal irrigator handle is capable of being inserted into the insertion hole or taken out of the insertion hole. A water inlet soft rubber nozzle and a water return soft rubber nozzle are mounted on the nasal irrigator handle.

IN VIVO GRAFT PERFUSION

A portable, patient-wearable perfusion system includes a patch configured to cover at least a portion of a biological tissue graft implanted within a defect in a patient, a perfusion assembly configured to be worn or carried on the patient, and arterial and venous cannulas. The arterial and venous cannulas are configured to yield a closed fluid circuit for the perfusate to circulate through the graft. The patch includes a first sensor for detecting a first parameter relating to a physiologic state of the biological tissue graft. The perfusion assembly includes a reservoir for a perfusate, a pump, and a controller operatively coupled to the sensor. The controller is configured to operate the pump to control the physiologic state of the tissue graft based on data regarding the first parameter. The portable-patient wearable perfusion system may be used to preserve the implanted graft until the body naturally vascularizes the graft.

Wound cleansing apparatus in-situ

An apparatus for cleansing wounds, in which wound exudate is removed from a wound bed and selectively cleansed and returned to the wound. The cleansing means removes materials deleterious to wound healing, and the cleansed fluid, still containing materials that are beneficial in promoting wound healing, is returned to the wound bed. The associated wound dressing and cleansing means are conformable to the wound, and may have irrigant fluid circulated from a reservoir by a device for moving fluid through a flow path which passes through the dressing and a means for fluid cleansing and back to the dressing.

Suction apparatus for peritoneal cavity fluid perfusion system

When sucking a fluid within a body cavity, foreign matter included in the fluid which exceeds the filtering diameter of a filtering apparatus may cause clogging of the filtering apparatus. Another concern is that a body cavity membrane getting stuck to a suction port of a suction tube may lead to the suction port being closed off. In response to such problems as these, provided is a suction apparatus, comprising a suction tube, and a filter member. The suction tube has side holes formed in a tube wall on a body cavity-side tail end part. The filter member has a tubular cap shape and covers a tail end aperture of the suction tube and the side holes, is formed from a foam body with an average aperture opening of 500-1000 m, and has a thickness of 7.5 mm or more.

Surgical fluid management systems and methods

A surgical fluid management system delivers fluid for distending a uterine cavity to allow cutting and extraction of uterine fibroid tissue, polyps and other abnormal uterine tissue. The system comprises a fluid source, fluid deliver lines, one or more pumps, and a filter for re-circulating the distension fluid between the source and the uterine cavity. A controller can monitor fluid retention by the patient.
