WOUND CLEANSING APPARATUS IN-SITU

An apparatus for cleansing wounds, in which wound exudate is removed from a wound bed and selectively cleansed and returned to the wound. The cleansing means removes materials deleterious to wound healing, and the cleansed fluid, still containing materials that are beneficial in promoting wound healing, is returned to the wound bed. The associated wound dressing and cleansing means are conformable to the wound, and may have irrigant fluid circulated from a reservoir by a device for moving fluid through a flow path which passes through the dressing and a means for fluid cleansing and back to the dressing.

FLUID MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

Fluid management system and method of operating a fluid management system which may provide one or more functions associated with suction, irrigation, distention, deficit monitoring, infusion, fluid warming, and the like. The fluid management system may be selectable between pressure control and flow control modes.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR IRRIGATING AN ANATOMIC SPACE

Systems and methods are provided that may facilitate the irrigation of an anatomic space. The irrigation system can include a tube manifold, a fluid reservoir, a waste fluid trap and an emulsification system. The emulsification system can be arranged at a distal end portion of the tube manifold and can be configured to be inserted into an anatomic space and emulsify organic material located within the anatomic space.

SUCTION APPARATUS FOR PERITONEAL CAVITY FLUID PERFUSION SYSTEM

When sucking a fluid within a body cavity, foreign matter included in the fluid which exceeds the filtering diameter of a filtering apparatus may cause clogging of the filtering apparatus. Another concern is that a body cavity membrane getting stuck to a suction port of a suction tube may lead to the suction port being closed off. In response to such problems as these, provided is a suction apparatus, comprising a suction tube, and a filter member. The suction tube has side holes formed in a tube wall on a body cavity-side tail end part. The filter member has a tubular cap shape and covers a tail end aperture of the suction tube and the side holes, is formed from a foam body with an average aperture opening of 500-1000 m, and has a thickness of 7.5 mm or more.

Wound cleansing apparatus

An apparatus for cleansing and promoting tissue growth in wounds, in which irrigant fluid optionally containing cell nutrients and/or other physiologically active material from a reservoir connected to a conformable wound dressing and wound exudate from the dressing are recirculated by a device for moving fluid through a flow path which passes through the dressing, a biodegradable scaffold in contact with the wound bed and a means for fluid cleansing and back to the dressing. The apparatus has means for supplying thermal energy to the fluid in the wound. The cleansing means (which may be a single-phase, e.g. micro-filtration, system or a two-phase, e.g. dialytic system) removes materials deleterious to wound healing, and the cleansed fluid, still containing materials that are beneficial in promoting wound healing, is returned to the wound bed. The dressing and a method of treatment using the apparatus.

DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS TO SUPPLY FLUIDS TO AN ENDOSCOPE

Methods and systems for providing a flow of fluid to an endoscope. An illustrative container and tube set arranged and configured to couple to an endoscope may comprise a first container configured to contain a fluid and having a first port in fluid communication with a bottom portion thereof. A pressure vessel system may be in selective fluid communication with the first container. The pressure vessel system may include a manifold housing defining a cavity and including a first fluid inlet, a second fluid inlet, and a first fluid outlet. A first water supply tube may be in selective fluid communication with the cavity of the manifold housing and a first gas supply tube may be in operative fluid communication with the cavity of the manifold housing. A first flow control member may be positioned within the first fluid inlet.

Fluid management system and methods

A hysteroscopic fluid management system includes a saline source with an electrolyte concentration, at least one pressure mechanism for circulating saline to and from a targeted site and through a filter having filter characteristics back to the source, and a controller. The controller provides a saline inflow in a first flow path to the site and a saline outflow in a second flow path from the site through the filter and back to the source at a controlled flow rate. A diagnostic or therapeutic procedure is performed at the site in the presence of the saline. The filter characteristics and the controlled flow rate are selected to (1) cause substantially no change in the electrolyte concentration in the saline, (2) to prevent hemolysis of greater than 5% of filtered red blood cells exposed to the saline, and/or (3) to minimize effect on prothrombin time of plasma exposed to the filter.
