SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ROBOTIC INFECTION TREATMENT OF A PROSTHESIS

A system for debriding an infected implant area includes an ultrasonic tool, a navigation system for tracking movement of the ultrasonic tool, and a processing circuit programmed to determine an area to debride and control the ultrasonic tool to automatically adjust a parameter of the ultrasonic tool to provide a first vibrational characteristic when debridement is of a surface of the implant and a second vibrational characteristic when the debridement is of patient tissue.

Medical weighing systems

A weighing system for medical applications may include a basin that has a base and a sloped sidewall that collectively form a bounded cavity with open top surface that receives and holds the material to be weighed. The basin may be free floating above the weighing device within a restricted range of travel. In some examples, the weighing system includes a thermal treatment device to adjust the temperature of the material in the basin. The rate at which heat is delivered to the basin may vary depending on the weight of the contents in the basin.

Devices for intraocular surgery

An anterior chamber maintainer (ACM) is fastened to the cornea of a patient's eye at one or more, or potentially two or more, points of contact. The ACM can be inserted through a first and second incision. The ACM can be fastened to each of the two incisions using, for example, friction surfaces, ridges, a malleable tip, magnets, a segmented tip, or other types of fasteners. The ACM includes openings to provide irrigation solution to maintain the volume of the patient's eye during cataract surgery. The shape of the openings can be customized to reduce the amount of turbulence caused by the irrigation solution. By fastening the ACM to the cornea, the ACM is less likely to shift around or become dislodged from the eye during surgery. The ACM can be integrated with iris retractors to hold the position of a floppy iris during surgery.

A dental post kit is provided. The dental post kit includes at least one post having a first section and a second section, where the first section has a first opening, and the second section has a second opening covered by a thin shell. An internal central canal extends from the first opening to the second opening. A stopper is mounted on the at least one post and is located between the first section and the second section. At least one endodontic file is included in the kit. The at least one endodontic file is configured to be inserted into the internal central canal through the first opening and to pass through the second opening by puncturing the thin shell covering.
