Apparatus and method for the removal and containment of human waste excretion
The present invention relates to an apparatus for the removal and containment of human waste products from the effected area of incontinent patients. The apparatus and process encapsulates the areas of the body where urine and fecal matter are excreted. In particular, the present invention is directed to an apparatus for the containment and removal of human waste products, comprising: a receptacle; a vacuum connection to apply force for attaching the receptacle to the patient; and a vacuum dispersion membrane to provide mechanical support to the skin so as to minimize tensile force applied to the skin.
Blower instrument, apparatus and methods of using
A surgical blower for providing a directed stream to clear a surgical site, that can be used in multiple different use modes. In one use mode, the surgical blower is handheld by a user during operation. In another mode, a distal end portion of the blower is fixed to a foot of a stabilizer instrument and the handle of the blower is handheld. In another mode, a distal end portion of the blower is fixed to a foot of a stabilizer instrument and the handle of the blower is fixed to a stationary object such as a sternal retractor. In another mode, the distal end of the blower is free and the handle of the blower is fixed to a stationary object. An apparatus including a blower and a stabilizer is provided. Methods of using the blower as well as the apparatus are also provided.
Conduit management device
A conduit management device and method for quickly and easily securing a conduit and reducing the risk of conduit disruption is disclosed. A selectively securable cleat is arranged for selective encirclement and securement of at least a portion of a conduit by wrapping the conduit around the cleat. An embodiment is disclosed having an elongate cleat that is fixed to the patient apparatus at a first location of the cleat spaced apart from releasably securable locations proximate first and second ends of the cleat such that the fixation point at the first location forms the fixed base of the cleat.

Device for the treatment of anal fistula-in-ano and complex fistula-in-ano
A device for the treatment of anal fistula-in-ano and complex fistula-in-ano includes a balloon inflation/deflation tube, a suction/drainage tube, a scooping tube, that is disposed between the balloon inflation/deflation tube and the suction/drainage tube, a diaphragm that is disposed across the balloon inflation/deflation tube and the suction/drainage tube, and an irrigation/drainage path that is disposed between a balloon and a plurality of spikes. The balloon is disposed at an end of the balloon inflation/deflation tube.
Kit for washing an intestinal anastomosis in situ
A kit including a device for intestinal anastomosis enema in situ, and an anastomosis protection device comprising a flexible external sheath connected to a stent located downstream of the sheath and designed to be anchored upstream of the anastomosis. The enema device has: a perforated, tubular element of annular shape that can distribute an enema composition, upstream of the anastomosis, a supply tube one end of which emerges in the tubular element and one end of which is open to injection means designed to deliver the composition into said tubular element, holding means for the tubular element upstream of the anastomosis.
Apparatus And Method For Securing An Elongate Member To A Medical Instrument
An apparatus and method of securing an elongate member to a medical instrument. The apparatus comprising an attachment device including a base, a liner, and an adhesive. The base comprising an aperture configured to receive the elongate member, wherein the liner may be positioned adjacent the aperture and axially aligned with the elongate member when the attachment device is coupled to the medical instrument. The attachment device may comprise a pair of apertures and the liner may be positioned adjacent the adhesive and at least partially between the pair of apertures. The method of securing the elongate member to the medical instrument comprises threading the elongate member through the aperture of the attachment device and adhering the attachment device to the medical instrument. The method of manufacturing the attachment device may comprise cutting the aperture in the base, the adhesive, and liner.
