Door comprising vented stile, and method of making the same

A door includes a first skin, a second skin, two stiles, a core, and a gas permeable membrane. The first skin provides a first outer door surface. The second skin provides a second outer door surface. The two stiles are disposed at least partially between the first skin and the second skin. At least one stile defines a vent therein. The core comprises a foam material and is disposed between the first skin and the second skin. The gas permeable membrane, which is permeable to gas but not to the precursors of a foam material, is disposed on the at least one stile covering the vent. The gas permeable membrane contacts the foam material in the core, and separate the foam material in the core from the vent.

A door assembly for an electromagnetic shielded enclosure includes a metal door frame for defining a passageway into the enclosure and a door for selectively enclosing the passageway. The door includes a door leaf pivotally coupled to the frame. A set of radio frequency (RF) seals is connected to the exposed peripheral edge of a conductive plate in the door leaf. Each RF seal includes a resilient movable finger which overlies a U-shaped bracket mounted along the outer edge of the door leaf. A plurality of air cylinders is mounted within each bracket and is designed to urge the resilient finger of each RF seal into contact with the door frame. By integrating the RF seal and its related mechanical components into the door, the passageway into the enclosure is rendered less obtrusive. Additionally, the use of multiple air cylinders to actuate each RF seal creates operational redundancy.

DOOR ASSEMBLIES WITH INSULATED GLAZING UNIT VENTING

A door assembly includes a doorframe, an insulated glazing unit (IGU), door skins, and a gas passageway. The IGU includes a substantially sealed IGU cavity and a hole communicating with the IGU cavity. The door skins are secured to opposite sides of the doorframe and have openings between which the IGU is provided. The gas passageway provides gas communication between the IGU cavity and the atmosphere outside of the door assembly. The gas passageway contains a gas passage conduit that includes a first end communicating with the IGU cavity through the hole and a second end communicating with atmosphere outside of the door assembly. The gas passageway may contain a gas passage conduit having a first end communicating with the IGU cavity through the first hole and a second end communicating with an air pocket, and a channel connects the air pocket with atmosphere outside of the door assembly.

Door skin stacking

A plurality of stacked door skins is provided, the plurality including at least first and second door skins each including at least one inner panel, an outer body portion surrounding the at least one inner panel, and at least one contoured portion surrounding the at least one panel and interconnecting the at least one panel to the outer body portion. The at least one contoured portion includes a substantially V-shaped indent area adjacent to and within the outer body portion, a planar area that is substantially parallel to the outer body portion and is adjacent to and within the substantially V-shaped indent area, and a declining area adjacent to and within the planar area and terminating at the inner panel.

A door system includes a door having a frame forming at least a portion of a perimeter of the door and a sleeve configured to encase at least a portion of the frame. The frame is constructed from a first material and the sleeve is constructed from a different second material. The first material may be electrically conductive and the second material may be electrically insulating. Alternatively or additionally, the first material may be susceptible to wear and tear and the sleeve may be resilient and replaceable.

DOORS COMPRISING GLAZED UNIT, AND METHOD OF MAKING THE SAME

A door include a first skin, a second skin, and a glazing unit. The first skin includes a first skin body portion, and a first flange portion extending inward from the first skin body portion. The first skin body portion has a first tip. A second skin includes a second skin body portion, and a second flange portion extending inward from the second skin body portion. The second skin body portion has a second tip. A glazing unit has an edge disposed adjacent to and between the first tip and the second tip.
