A door skin is provided that includes at least one inner panel, an outer body portion surrounding the at least one inner panel, and at least one contoured portion surrounding the at least one panel and interconnecting the at least one panel to the outer body portion. The at least one contoured portion is recessed from the at least one panel and the outer body portion and includes a center base portion that interconnects with the outer body portion via a first sloping portion and with the panel via a second sloping portion. The first sloping portion includes a first angled portion and a first bump. The second sloping portion includes second and third bumps.
Doors comprising glazed unit, and method of making the same
A door include a first skin, a second skin, and a glazing unit. The first skin includes a first skin body portion, and a first flange portion extending inward from the first skin body portion. The first skin body portion has a first tip. A second skin includes a second skin body portion, and a second flange portion extending inward from the second skin body portion. The second skin body portion has a second tip. A glazing unit has an edge disposed adjacent to and between the first tip and the second tip. The first flange portion and the second flange portion provide an interlocking structure.
Door with frameless glazed unit, and related kit and methods
A door includes a door frame, first and second door skins having rectangular outer peripheries and inner openings, and a frameless glazed unit received at the openings. The door skins include exterior surfaces facing away from the door frame and opposite interior surfaces facing and secured to opposite sides of the door frame. The exterior and interior surfaces of the first and second door skins establish integral lips and grooves of the first and second door skins. Opposite sides of the frameless glazed unit directly contact and are sealed by the integral lips and sealant and/or adhesive contained in the grooves of the first and second door skins.
Security door hinge assembly
A security door hinge assembly is provided, comprising a door frame structure, having at least a head member, a first jamb member and a second jamb member, and at least one door leaf. The door leaf further comprises a leaf frame structure, having at least a top rail member, a bottom rail member, a hinge stile member and a lock stile member; an inner leaf panel, mounted to a first side of said leaf frame structure and extending past said hinge stile member, so as to form an inner leaf flange; an outer leaf panel, mounted to a second side of said leaf frame structure, opposite said first side, and extending past said hinge stile member, so as to form an outer leaf flange, and wherein, in use, said door leaf is operable between a first closed position and a second open position. The security door hinge assembly further comprises a hinge chamber positioned between said first jamb member and said hinge stile; a hinge-mount bracket, coupled to said first jamb member; a hinge mechanism, having at least one pivot axis and which is located within said open hinge chamber and adapted to pivotally mount said door leaf to said hinge-mount bracket, and wherein, in said first closed position, said inner leaf flange is in an exteriorly overlapping engagement with at least a portion of said hinge mount bracket, so as to prevent access to said hinge mechanism.
Door skins, doors, and nested door skins
A door skin is provided that includes at least one inner panel, an outer body portion surrounding the at least one inner panel, and at least one contoured portion surrounding the at least one panel and interconnecting the at least one panel to the outer body portion. The at least one contoured portion is recessed from the at least one panel and the outer body portion and includes a center base portion that interconnects with the outer body portion via a first sloping portion and with the panel via a second sloping portion. The first sloping portion includes a first angled portion and a first bump. The second sloping portion includes second and third bumps.
DOOR LEAF FRAME, DOOR LEAF, AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE DOOR LEAF FRAME
One object is to provide a door leaf frame capable of easy manufacturing, a door leaf, and a method of manufacturing the door leaf frame. A door leaf frame includes: two face plates disposed on opposite surface sides of a door leaf so as to be opposed to each other; two side plates each positioned on a lateral side of the door leaf and connected to the two face plates to form a U-shaped section; and two fastening members fastened to the two face plates. The face plates and the side plates are positioned relative to each other by projections provided on the side plates and holes provided in the face plates.
Fire rated door
A fire rated door includes a core, a first decorative panel and a second decorative panel. The core includes: (a) a gypsum-based fire resistant center panel having a bottom, a top, a first side, a second side, a first end and a second end, wherein the gypsum-based fire resistant center panel is made of a first gypsum-based fire resistant material, and (b) an extruded gypsum-based fire resistant border attached to the first side, the second side, the first end and the second end of the gypsum-based fire resistant center panel, wherein the extruded gypsum-based fire resistant border is made of a second gypsum-based fire resistant material having a higher density than the first gypsum-based fire resistant material. The first decorative panel is attached to the top of the gypsum-based fire resistant center panel and the extruded gypsum-based fire resistant border. The second decorative panel is attached to the bottom of the gypsum-based fire resistant center panel and the extruded gypsum-based fire resistant border.
DOOR COMPRISING VENTED STILE, AND METHOD OF MAKING THE SAME
A door includes a first skin, a second skin, two stiles, a core, and a gas permeable membrane. The first skin provides a first outer door surface. The second skin provides a second outer door surface. The two stiles are disposed at least partially between the first skin and the second skin. At least one stile defines a vent therein. The core comprises a foam material and is disposed between the first skin and the second skin. The gas permeable membrane, which is permeable to gas but not to the precursors of a foam material, is disposed on the at least one stile covering the vent. The gas permeable membrane contacts the foam material in the core, and separate the foam material in the core from the vent.
