Closure fire rated frame extrusion component and a method of making the same
10550631 · 2020-02-04 · ·

An extrusion component of a closure frame for defining an opening which is closable by a closure member and a method of making the same. The extrusion component comprises an elongate body having first and second sides, at least one of which is shaped for accommodating said closure member. The elongate body includes an outer layer integrally formed with an inner layer and the inner layer has an outer surface correspondingly shaped by or with an inner surface of the outer layer.

FIRE-RETARDANT CORES FOR HOLLOW-CORE DOORS
20240068296 · 2024-02-29 ·

A fire-retardant core for a door with a central cavity includes a first solid component made from non-fibrous material that is effective to disperse solid particles and to reduce water solubility. The core also includes a second solid component made from fibrous material that is less dense than the first component, and is effective to fill volume in the central cavity. The core also includes a third component made from a fire retardant material that tends to prevent combustion. The first, second and third components are blended effectively to fill the central cavity, and to provide a fire-retardant quality to the door.

Hardware preparation filler system and method for fire rated doors

A method and system for achieving compliance for a fire-rated door assembly. To comply with fire rated door assembly codes and compliance, all components, including hardware must be listed and labeled by a certification agency, such as Underwriters Laboratories (UL). The disclosure may include a hardware preparation filler solution which allows fire-rated doors to maintain fire rating and compliance when removing or modifying hardware, or converting between hardware types.

Device for closing an opening in a building
10458175 · 2019-10-29 ·

A device for closing a building opening, wherein a planar closure element and/or a frame rigidly attached to the edge of the building opening has a frame profile, which by way of two lateral surfaces delimits a profile cavity that is open toward the rebate face, wherein from each of the two lateral surfaces, a profile wall projects toward the direction of the respective other lateral surface. On the projecting profile walls, a metal cover plate and a clamping part are attached such that they are pulled together by screws, with the interposition of the profile walls. On the two projecting profile walls, a clamping part abuts, in each case, both flanks of a groove, the opening surface of which is parallel to the connecting surface between the two projecting profile walls.

Fire rated door core

A core for a fire rated door includes a fire resistant center panel and an extruded fire resistant border. The fire resistant center panel has a bottom, a top, a first side, a second side, a first end and a second end. The fire resistant center panel is made of a first fire resistant material. The extruded fire resistant border is attached to the first side, the second side, the first end and the second end of the fire resistant center panel. The extruded fire resistant border is made of a second fire resistant material having a higher density than the first fire resistant material.

CLOSURE FIRE RATED FRAME EXTRUSION COMPONENT AND A METHOD OF MAKING THE SAME

MAIN-FRAME BAR AND/OR WING-FRAME BAR, AND DOOR, WINDOW, OR FAÇADE ELEMENT

A main-frame bar and/or to a wing-frame bar for a main frame and/or a wing frame of a window, of a door, or of a faade element includes a main profiled element having a substantially U-shaped cross-section in single- or multi-piece design, which has, as viewed in a cross-section, a short leg, a long leg, and a transverse leg formed therebetween. A free intermediate space is formed between the ends of the short leg and of the long leg facing away from the transverse leg, a cover element and/or a fitting part extending over the intermediate space at least in some sections. The short leg and the long leg of the main profiled element have multi-function contours on the inner sides thereof facing each other, which multi-function contours completely or partially bound at least the following groove: in each case, a fastening groove open in the same direction on the side facing away from the transverse leg for fastening a corresponding fastening means of the fitting part or of the cover element.

Gypsum composites used in fire resistant building components

A composite product includes gypsum in an amount of 70 to 90% by weight, fibers in an amount of 1.5 to 26% by weight substantially homogeneously distributed through the composite, and a rheology-modifying agent in an amount of 0.5 to 6% by weight. The composite is caused or allowed to cure to form a cured composite. The cured composite is a fire resistant component used in a fire-rated door core, a fire-rated door or a fire-rated building panel. The fire resistant component may include a building panel, a door panel, a door core, a door rail, a door stile, a door lock block, a door border, or a door insert.

EDGE GUARD AND END CAP SYSTEM FOR A FIRE DOOR ASSEMBLY
20240191560 · 2024-06-13 · ·

An edge guard system for use with a fire door assembly to installed on a fire door is disclosed. The edge guard system includes a U-shaped channel edge guard that is sized and configured to fit over and to be secured to at least on edge of a fire door. The edge guard includes a first part of a fastener assembly to fasten an end cap to at least one end of the edge guard. The edge guard system also includes at least one end cap sized and configured to fit and be fastened to one end of the edge guard. The end cap includes a second part of the fastener assembly.

Fire protection retrofits for high-rise buildings

Buildings, particularly high-rise buildings, are retrofitted with a fire resistant liquid-applied material, preferably a material that intumesces with heat, where the exterior of the building is formed of metal clad combustible foam composite panels. Once the fire resistant coating has been applied, new thin panels matching the original fascia are installed outside the original composite panels, with space between, so that the appearance of the building is maintained.
