Bahama/colonial louver shutter
A shutter is provided. First and second side rails have cavities running in a direction from top to bottom, each cavity having an opening along a lateral side. A plurality of pairs of slat supports are present, each pair having a slat support mounted in the cavity of the first rail and mounted in the cavity of the second rail. Each slat support has a first section and a second section. The first section has a shape to slide into one of the cavities, and to stack and nest with an adjacent first section of another slat support in the one of the cavities. The second section protrudes through the opening of the one of the cavities. A plurality of slats are present, each slat being mounted on the second sections of one of the pairs of slat supports.
Slat roof and method for adapting a slat roof
A slat roof (1) comprising beams (2), a plurality of slats (3) arranged parallel to one another therebetween and slat shafts (4) by means of which the slats (3) are rotatably fixed to the respective beams (2), wherein at least one slat shaft (4) is hollow and wherein the slat roof (1) comprises at least one corresponding tensioning cable (5) which is inserted through said hollow slat shaft (4) and the ends of which are fixed to the respective beams (2). In addition, a method for adapting a slat roof.
Replacement Window Panel With Air Conditioner Coupling
A window replacement panel including an air conditioning vent incorporated into it. A window assembly may be attached to a decorative panel with a vent disposed on a first side, and a coupling for an AC duct on an opposite side. The window may be a single, double pane, insulated, uninsulated or the like. The panel may be clad with material to harmonize with the building exterior, and the exterior vent presents a pleasing appearance. The combination of window and panel may be sized to replace an existing window, or may be used in new construction.
DRY OPEN WINDOW (DOW) APPARATUS
An environmental window apparatus includes at least two dry open window (DOW) assemblies stacked on top of each other. Each DOW assembly includes a dry open window (DOW) structure having a plurality of louvers which, when viewed in cross section, have V or W shapes that enable air to pass through a window opening while limiting passage of precipitation, the precipitation being captured by the louvers for collection or drainage and a plurality of vertical members supporting the louvers in a spaced apart arrangement. A plurality of vertical rods are fixed to the vertical members of each DOW assembly by fasteners in a spaced apart arrangement to hold the DOW assemblies in place.

Reconfigurable system allowing air flow through an open window while blocking precipitation
This invention relates to two devices that are used to let fresh air in or through a window or opening but at the same time keep rain or any other kind of precipitation out. This is a device that will enable people to keep a window or an opening open even in inclement weather or when precipitation of any kind threatens to enter the opening or window. This is a device that will also save energy as it will significantly decrease the use of air conditioning in homes and offices.

Dry open window (DOW) apparatus
Improvements in the manufacture, mounting and implementation of dry open window (DOW) structures. Such structures comprise a plurality of louvers which, when viewed in cross section, have V or W shapes that enable air to pass through a window opening while substantially preventing precipitation to pass, the precipitation instead being captured by the louvers for collection or drainage.

Exterior ventilator door for receiving outdoor air
A ventilator door brings fresh outside air into a structure through an outside opening and a fan or blower pulls outside air into a duct in the door. The air flows through the duct and into the structure through an inside grill remote from the outside opening. Heat is transferred from the flow of air to a heat sink disposed in the duct to cool the fresh air flowing into the duct. A regenerative heat sink may be used to capture heat from a flow of air from inside the structure and transfer the captured heat to a flow of outside air flowing into the structure. An inside opening in the door generally opposite to the outside opening. The air flow through the openings is controlled by movable panels by aligning or by misaligning openings in the movable panels with the openings in the outside and inside panels. A microprocessor controls the movable panels and the fan or blower in response to sensors inside and outside of the door.
