Track System for Retractable Wall
20180298687 · 2018-10-18 ·

The invention is a track system for a retractable wall. The track system includes rigid outer guide tracks and flexible inner track inserts that are connected to the guide tracks by means of flanges located on both. The flexible inserts include a channel that engages with a side edge of a retractable wall, holding the wall in place. The flexible nature of the track inserts allows the inserts to bend, which in turn allows the retractable wall to flex when force is exerted on the retractable wall without breaking the tracks or tearing the wall. When excessive force is applied, the channel of the flexible insert, the walls of which are thicker than the rest of the flexible insert, bend open, so that the side edge of the retractable wall disengages from the channel by means of an opening in the channel.

Flexible door assembly

A roll up flexible door assembly includes a flexible door with guides mounted along the opposed sides. Opposed tracks are mounted at a spaced distance from one another with each of the tracks having inner edges positioned opposite one another. An angled guide liner is mounted to each track and extends longitudinally along at least a portion of the track. The angled guide liner is angled with respect to the inner edge with the angle increasing from the top to the bottom. The guides are received within the tracks and adapted to engage the angled guide liner as the flexible door is raised and lowered in the tracks. The guides and the angled guide liner tighten the flexible door as the flexible door is lowered.

MANUAL RELEASE STRUCTURE AND ROLL-UP DOOR ASSEMBLY

A manual release structure and roll-up door assembly is provided such that the edges of the roll-up door can be intentionally disengaged from the guideway. This is accomplished by using modified roll-up door elements at the edges of the door. One modification is made to the rail within which the door edges reside when the door is in its down or closed position. Another modification is made to a face frame slide within which the rail resides. Still another modification is made to the edges of the roll-up door. Together, these modifications result in an improved manual release structure to be used when release of the door edge becomes necessary.

APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR DOOR CURTAIN BREAKAWAY DETECTION

An example apparatus includes switches to be distributed along an interior of a guide for a door, the switches to switch between a first state and a second state, the switches in the first state to extend into a path of a door curtain of the door, the switches to be urged to the second state by the door curtain as the door curtain moves along the path. The example apparatus also includes a controller to identify when the door curtain transitions from an operational state to a breakaway state based on a signal from a first switch of the switches.

NINETY DEGREE WIND LOCK WITH BREAK-AWAY CAPABILITY AND DOOR PANEL AND DOOR ASSEMBLY UTILIZING THE SAME

A wind lock for an overhead roll-up door, the wind lock having a first edge which is substantially straight and capable of extending substantially perpendicular vertically from a face of a door panel to which the wind lock attaches to, the wind lock including a second edge having an angled-beveled face, wherein the second edge extends at an angle from the first edge laterally across the face of an attached door panel is beveled with the face of the door panel so as to extend vertically from the face at an angle.

Roll-up door and guide system therefor

A roll-up type industrial door including a flexible sheet or woven fabric forming a curtain for closing a door way having an upper end, a lower end and two opposite side edges. The sheet has a main area and elongate side edge sections that are thicker than the main area. A shoulder is formed where each side edge section meets the main area. A curtain winding mechanism is connected to the upper end of the curtain and is used to raise the curtain. A pair of spaced apart guide channels are also provided and the side edge sections are movable therein. Each guide has one or two elastic members which act as locking blades. The locking blades of each guide form an elongate slot that receives a side edge section of the curtain.
