Pre-assembled gate opener assembly
12054981 · 2024-08-06 ·

A pre-assembled gate opener assembly is comprised of a gate and an anchor assembly having a platform. A plurality of track assemblies on the platform provide a track on which the gate may slide from a first position (closed) to a second position (open) and any position in between. A guidepost having a Shepherd's hook configuration guides the gate as the gate passes therethrough. A pair of rollers within the interior of the top of the guidepost makes continuous contact with each side of the top of the gate both while the gate is stationary and in motion. A gate opener controller contains the required electrical connections to fully the operate gate opener assembly. Subterrain anchor supports provide the necessary support for the gate opener assembly. An alternative embodiment accommodates nontraditional configured gates. Installation of the gate opener assembly is performed by do-it-yourselfers in minimal time.

Embodiments described herein relate to a self-extending/retracting gate for a platform. In one embodiment, safety gate includes a housing that extends laterally from a back support attached to the platform. The gate includes a sliding member that is operable to retract at least partially into the housing toward the back support to substantially conceal the sliding member within the housing and provide an opening beyond the housing for users to access the platform and to extend from an opening of the housing away from the back support to block access to the platform while the housing supports the sliding member. The gate includes a gate movement assembly within the housing between a rear portion of the sliding member and the back support. The gate movement assembly is operable to cause the sliding member to extend from the housing and retract into the housing according to a height of the platform.

Gate with anti-fouling proximity indicators for handling agricultural granular materials
10059513 · 2018-08-28 · ·

A gate control system that provides repeatable and reliable gate position sensing in a fully open position, a fully closed position, or both. In various embodiments, proximity sensors are maintained in biased contact (continuously or intermittently) with the gate panel throughout the travel range of the gate panel. The system may also include anti-fouling or self-cleaning of the proximity sensor(s), whereby the proximity sensors are cleared of materials that would otherwise interfere with the repeatability of the position sensing.

System for moving a barrier with warning devices thereon
12146277 · 2024-11-19 ·

A system for moving a barrier protecting a restricted area. A stationary linear induction motor moves the barrier by applying a magnetic field from the linear induction motor to a reaction fin attached to the barrier. The reaction fin has a groove on each side, which is engaged with guide members to guide the barrier. Holes are evenly spaced along the length of the reaction fin. Magnetic sensors sense the holes during movement of the barrier to determine the speed, position and direction of the barrier. Current flows in the reaction fin melt ice in cold weather environments. The system is operated by a main control logic that receives input data from the electronic sensors and controls the linear induction motor, heater and locking mechanism. An inductive connection charges a storage device mounted on the barrier, which storage device powers warning signals on the barrier.

GATE CHAIN TIGHTENING MECHANISM
20240376776 · 2024-11-14 ·

A securing apparatus includes a housing, a shaft, a sprocket having teeth, a bracket having a tooth, and a torsional spring. One end of a chain is coupled with the apparatus and a rotation of the shaft wraps the chain around the shaft thereby tightening the shaft. The bracket engages the teeth of the sprocket and the torsional spring maintains said engagement. A rotation of the shaft causes the bracket tooth to engage another tooth of the sprocket teeth further wrapping the chain around the shaft thereby tightening the chain.

MODULAR PROTECTION SYSTEM FOR CRITICAL ASSETS AND INFRASTRUCTURE
20180030755 · 2018-02-01 ·

A modular system for protecting a critical asset includes a plurality of vertical members extending vertically upwardly from a ground surface, and inner and outer stacks of spaced-apart horizontal members connected between adjacent pairs of the vertical members defining a vertical wall. The spaced-apart horizontal members have cross sections and spacings such that no line can be drawn through the wall without intersecting with one or both of the inner and outer stacks. The cross sections of the horizontal members in both stacks include elongated angled surfaces such that projectile on a trajectory toward the critical asset is deflected upwardly or downwardly and away from the critical asset. In a preferred embodiment, the horizontal members are angle irons. In a more preferred embodiment the horizontal members are 1/2 90-degree steel angle irons oriented sideways, such that the elongated plates making up the angle irons are 45 degrees off horizontal.

Sliding Barn Door Kit

A barn door kit includes a plurality of pieces disassembled that are packaged in a much smaller footprint than an assembled barn door. The pieces that make up the door include a plurality of frame pieces and a plurality of panels. The frame pieces are connected together to create a frame of the door having a channel along an interior perimeter. The panels are configured to be inserted within the frame with the channel providing support. The panels include tongues on one side and corresponding grooves on the other side for securing adjacent panels together. The frame pieces and the panels are made from polyvinyl chloride (PVC). The kit also includes a track, roller brackets, handle and hardware. The hardware includes brackets mounted to upper edges of a right side frame and a left side frame to enable the roller brackets to be secured thereto.

A gate opener for simultaneously operating a pair of opposed sliding gates. The gate opener includes a pair of identical pulley assemblies one each affixed to the ground adjacent to a either gate and oriented a hundred eighty degrees to each other. A first cable is affixed to a lateral edge of a first gate, passes through a series of pulleys and is affixed to a medial edge of a second gate. A second cable is affixed to a lateral edge of a second gate, passes through a series of pulleys and is affixed to a medial edge of the first gate.
