Subsea support

A subsea support system comprises: at least one component (501) which is configured to be fixedly connected to a pressure conductor (101) in a seabed; and a subsea support (601) which is configured to compliantly support the at least one component (501); wherein, when the at least one component (501) is fixedly connected to the pressure conductor (101), substantially all of a mechanical load (T) which is applied to the subsea support (601) is transmitted by the subsea support (601) to the seabed while the at least one component (501) is substantially free of the mechanical load and remains fixed relative to the pressure conductor (101).

Anchoring Subsea Flexible Risers
20170350196 · 2017-12-07 ·

A subsea flexible riser installation has a seabed foundation and a steep-configuration flexible riser anchored to the seabed by the foundation. An attachment formation is fixed relative to the riser and a locating formation is fixed relative to the foundation, both at positions elevated above the seabed. The locating formation is engaged with the attachment formation on the riser. This holds the attachment formation and the riser against movement when engaged, protecting the base of the riser from over-bending and fatigue.

Thread Form for Connector Collar of Offshore Well Riser Pipe
20170350199 · 2017-12-07 ·

A pipe connection includes a pin having circumferentially extending external grooves. A box has an annular base with deflectable fingers extending upward from the base. Each of the fingers has circumferentially extending internal grooves on an inner side and an external thread on an outer side. A collar has an internal thread on an inner side. A radial dimension from the axis to the internal thread crest decreases from turn to turn of the internal thread in a downward direction. The box and the pin are movable from a stab-in position to a locked position in response to rotation of the collar. In the locked position, the external thread crests are in engagement with the internal thread crests, and the internal grooves are in full engagement with the external grooves.

The invention concerns a pipe joint formed between a pin section (10) and a box section (20); the pin and box sections each having a tubular pipe section, engaging at respective first ends in end-to-end arrangement and having a seal element partially therebetween, the box section including a collar extending from the first end, the collar being generally cylindrical, axially aligned with the tubular box pipe section and having an inner diameter of the same size as the outer diameter of the pin section, enabling the collar to be placed about the pin section, the pin and the box sections being secured together by means of a plurality of securing means housed in the collar and actuable to exert radial pressure to urge the pin and box into sealing arrangement, the collar (22) of the box section (20) including a test port, comprising a housing atrium, defined by an atrium wall, housing a test plug (60); the housing atrium (61) and the seal element (53) being fluidly linked by a box conduit; the plug comprising a plug body and a plug seal housed between the plug body and the housing atrium wall to seal the housing atrium from atmosphere and having therethrough a plug conduit connectable at a first end to a pressure test apparatus and fluidly linkable at a second end to the box conduit; the plug being moveable between a first position forming a fluid link between the plug conduit and the box conduit, and a second position closing the fluid link.

Connector for a drilling or production system

A connector is configured to couple a first annular member to a second annular member. The connector includes a rotatable plate and multiple lock segments. The connector further includes a coupling assembly that is configured to couple the rotatable plate to the multiple lock segments, such that rotation of the rotatable plate in a circumferential direction drives the plurality of lock segments along a radial axis to adjust the connector between an unlocked configuration and a locked configuration.

Robotic system for making or breaking a riser

The system for making or breaking the riser includes a robotic system. The robotic system includes one or more robotic arms configured to be disposed on a spider deck, and one or more riser-connection manipulation tools each having a camera and being configured to manipulate a riser connection, the camera being configured to capture an image of an object, wherein each robotic arm is configured to couple to one riser-connection manipulation tool. Further the system for making or breaking the riser includes a control system. The control system includes a robot controller in communication with the one or more robotic arms and configured to control the one or more robotic arms. The system for making or breaking the riser is configured to analyze the image to determine the location and orientation of the object and transmit the location and orientation of the object to the robot controller.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SENSING ENGAGEMENT IN HAZARDOUS RATED ENVIRONMENTS

Systems and methods for a riser coupling are disclosed. A riser sensor unit for sensing engagement of a riser tool with a riser coupling includes a first sensor attached to a sub of the riser tool. The first sensor is configured to generate a first signal upon detecting contact with the riser coupling, and an intrinsic safety barrier is configured to transmit the first signal to a control system.

BLOWOUT PREVENTER WITH WIDE FLANGE BODY

Blowout preventers having bodies without flanged necks are provided. In one embodiment, a blowout preventer stack includes first and second blowout preventers having independent and separable main bodies, each including a bore and a ram cavity transverse to the bore. The lower end of the main body of the first blowout preventer is fastened directly to an upper end of the main body of the second blowout preventer without a flanged neck extending the bore between the ram cavities of the first and second blowout preventers. In some instances, the main bodies of the first and second blowout preventers include external connection flanges that extend laterally from ram cavity body portions of the main bodies so as to enable connection of the two main bodies along the sides of the main bodies away from their bores. Additional systems, devices, and methods are also disclosed.

DYNAMIC RISER MECHANICAL CONNECTOR

High-strength, fatigue-resistant pipe connectors suitable for use in offshore risers, tendons and pipelines, such as may be connected to floating production systems (FPSs) principally used in the production of oil and gas. The present connectors include tubular pin and box components with mating frusto-conical, concentrically-grooved mating surfaces which threadingly interlock, and non-threaded (e.g., flat) mating surfaces that seal and preload (e.g., preload at least a portion of each component in compression), via axial advancement of the pin component into the box component. In such connectors, axial movement of the pin into the mating box results the in radial expansion of the box and radial contraction of the pin until the concentric thread patterns match and interlockingly snap into the connected position.

RISER MONITORING AND LIFECYCLE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AND METHOD
