ADJUSTABLE PRESSURE REGULATING AND PRESSURE INDICATING NEEDLE-FREE CONNECTORS

A needle-free connector assembly is provided that includes a main housing coupled to an indicator housing. A plunger is coupled to a bellows disposed in the main housing. An inlet port is disposed at an upstream end of the indicator housing and an outlet port is disposed at a downstream end of the main housing, with a valve disposed within the indicator housing and adjacent the inlet port. A switch member is slidingly disposed in the main housing, wherein the needle-free connector assembly provides both flow regulation and pressure indication when the switch member is in a downstream position and only pressure indication when the switch member is in an upstream position. Infusion sets and methods of operating a needle-free connector are also provided.

Pressure indicator for medicament delivery device

A medicament delivery device having a reservoir for holding a medicament, a pressurizing system that dispenses the medicament from the reservoir when operating, a hollow cannula for insertion into a patient, and a fluid delivery path disposed between the pressurizing system and the hollow cannula and communicating the medicament therebetween. The medicament delivery device also has a pressure sensor external to the pressurizing system, sensing a back pressure in the fluid delivery path, and providing an indication when the back pressure drops below a predetermined threshold after the pressurizing system ceases operation.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ORGAN INJECTION

A system and method to enable treatment through cell therapy. The system can enable cell injection such as, for example, injecting beta cells/islets, cartilage cells, fat cells, and others. The system and method ensure that the delivery rate and delivered volume of the material pumped through a tube and into the injection needle is consistent over the course of the start-operation-stop process from run to run. The system and method can automatically stop delivery and alarm if an occlusion is detected during delivery.

RAPID FLUID DELIVERY SYSTEM

A system includes a tubing set and a drive assembly. The tubing set includes inlet tubing couplable to a source of fluid, a valve coupled to the inlet tubing, a syringe coupled to the inlet tubing via the valve, and outlet tubing coupled to the valve. The valve is configured to allow fluid to be drawn from the source of fluid via the inlet tubing into a syringe body of the syringe and to be expelled from the syringe body and through the outlet tubing, and to prevent fluid from being drawn from the outlet tubing into the syringe body and to prevent fluid expelled from the syringe body from flowing through the inlet tubing. The drive assembly is configured to reversibly receive the tubing set such that a drive mechanism is engaged with a plunger of the syringe to reciprocally translate the plunger relative to the syringe body.

Torsion spring injection device having an end-of-dose mechanism

The present invention relates to a torsion spring based automatic injection device for apportioning set doses of a liquid drug and which injection device is provided with an End-of-Dose feedback mechanism providing a user with an audible signal once the set dose has been injected. During injection, the scale drum rotates back to its “zero” position under influence of the torsion spring. This rotation is halted shortly before reaching the “zero” position by stopping means. The scale drum is thereafter only allowed to continue rotation and thus reach the “zero” position once the torque applied to the scale drum by the torsion spring surpasses a threshold value.

AIR SHOT DETECTION

A medication injection device includes a barrel and a plunger disposed to dispense a fluid from the barrel. A dosage tracking system is coupled to output data indicative of the fluid dispensed. A controller is disposed within the medication injection device and coupled to receive the data from the dosage tracking system. The controller includes logic that when executed by the controller causes the controller to perform operations including determining, based on the data, whether an air shot event occurred while dispensing the fluid.

PRESSURE SENSOR IN PLUNGER HEAD TO WAKE UP ELECTRONICS

A plunger head for a fluid injection device includes a transducer disposed in the plunger head to measure a compressive force when applied to the plunger head. The plunger head also includes a power source and a microcontroller disposed in the plunger head. The microcontroller is coupled to the power source and the transducer, and the microcontroller is coupled to enter a high-power mode in response to sensing application of the compressive force to the plunger head.

APPARATUS AND FORMULATIONS FOR SUPRACHOROIDAL DRUG DELIVERY

Drug formulations, devices and methods are provided to deliver biologically active substances to the eye. The formulations are delivered into scleral tissues adjacent to or into the suprachoroidal space without damage to the underlying choroid. One class of formulations is provided wherein the formulation is localized in the suprachoroidal space near the region into which it is administered. Another class of formulations is provided wherein the formulation can migrate to another region of the suprachoroidal space, thus allowing an injection in the anterior region of the eye in order to treat the posterior region.

Methods for injecting a drug into prostate tissue

Method and surgical instrument for treating prostate tissue including a surgical instrument having a main body, a needle deployment port, a needle, first and second handles and a lockout release mechanism to limit needle extension. Additionally, a kit includes the surgical instrument, together with a cystoscope, and optionally a syringe and reservoir of ethanol. The method includes needle-less injection and visualizing the ethanol injection by delivering both an echogenic agent and ethanol either by needle or needle-less injection or by providing an ultrasonically visible marker near the tip of the ethanol delivery cannula. The method also includes extending the needle transversely of the instrument housing using a link assembly.
