Hemostatic powder delivery devices and methods
The present invention is directed to a device for expression of a hemostatic powder having an elongated reservoir with a manual air pump, such as a bellows, at a proximal end and an expression port at a distal end. A porous filter is slidably disposed within the elongated reservoir between the bellows, a plunger, and the expression port, and a spring is disposed within the elongated reservoir between the manual air pump and the plunger. The hemostatic powder is disposed within the elongated reservoir between the porous filter and the expression port, and the manual air pump is in a fluid communication with the expression port through the porous filter and through the hemostatic powder.
Vaporizer including a heater assembly and delivery device
A vaporizing assembly for an aerosol-generating system may comprise a delivery device and a heater assembly. The heater assembly may comprise a heat resistive substrate and a heating element. The delivery device is configured to deliver an aerosol-forming substrate to at least a surface of the heat resistive substrate, wherein the heating element is isolated or separated from the aerosol-forming substrate by the heat resistive substrate. The present disclosure is also directed to a method for generating an aerosol.
Spray dispenser for nasal drugs
Spray dispenser for nasal drugs includes a non-pressurized bottle for storing medical fluids in particular of drugs and other sterile fluids, a mounting body mounted to the top of the bottle and an actuating body, wherein the bottle, the mounting body and the actuating body are aligned along a longitudinal axis, and wherein the actuating body is slideably attached to the mounting body along the longitudinal axis and movable between an actuating position and a non-actuating position, wherein the spray dispenser includes an applicator nozzle and an actuating section for moving the actuating body into the actuating position, characterized in that the applicator nozzle has a nozzle axis which is inclined with respect to the longitudinal axis, the applicator nozzle facing away from the actuating section.
Dose delivery device for inhalation
Methods and devices for delivering a dose, such as a medicament, for inhalation. A dose may be stored by a delivery device and dispersed and delivered in a metered fashion to a subject, such as by the subject inhaling via a mouthpiece of the delivery device. One or more chambers of the device may have a toroidal shape and may be arranged to be selectively opened for fluid communication with a flow path of the delivery device, such as by sliding the chamber relative to a portion of the flow path. The flow path may include a restriction that permits air to bypass the chamber, and/or the chamber may be arranged so that fluid entering the chamber interacts with fluid exiting the chamber so as to enhance dispersion of the dose.
PORTABLE MEDICAL SPRAY
A portable medical spray includes a tubular body having a room defined therein, and a breakable portion is formed to the top end of the body. A connection portion extends from the bottom end of the body. A nozzle is connected to the top end of the body. The nozzle has a passage which is located corresponding to the breakable portion. A medicine cell is located in the room of the body and has medicine received therein. The medicine cell is a compressible bellow cell. A needle is located in the medicine cell. An end part is mounted to the connection portion. The end part is pushed toward the nozzle to compress the medicine cell, and the needle penetrates through the top end of the medicine cell and the breakable portion to release the medicine via the nozzle.
POWDER DISPENSING APPLICATOR
Provided is an applicator for the dispensing of a powder such as a pharmaceutical powder, on a target location. Also, provided are methods of applying a powder on a surface using the applicator.
Safe desmopressin administration
Disclosed is a family of intranasal spray dispensers for administering uniform low doses of desmopressin so as to achieve safe antidiuresis in human patients. The dispensers of the invention may be used in the treatment of nocturia, primary nocturnal enuresis, incontinence, urinary frequency, diabetes insipidus, or any disease or syndrome where desmopressin therapy is useful or where safe temporary suppression of urine production may lead to beneficial health effects or increased convenience in voiding control.
AEROSOL DELIVERY DEVICES AND METHODS OF USING SAME
An aerosolizing device for substance delivery to a user comprising: a rotational pump configured to receive a formulation from a source, where the formulation comprises a target substance that is designed to effect a physiological change in the user, and where the rotational pump is further configured to transport the formulation from the source and deliver the formulation in a vapor form with aid of a vaporization element for inhalation by the user are described.
INTAKING AN ANTIVIRAL BY INHALATION OR SPRAYING FOR RESPIRATORY TRACT INFECTION
Methods of treatment to inhibit or kill microorganisms (Bacteria or Virus) from infecting a respiratory tract of a human patient and to treat the respiratory tract when already infected by the microorganism are described. The method of treatment may include the step of administering a therapeutically effective dose of a treatment medication comprising eugenol to the patient via a nasal passageway into a respiratory system of the patient. Eugenol is found in clove oil, cinnamon oil, and other essential oils. Any one or more of these eugenol-containing oils may be used.
