A pile installing system for a pile including a cylindrical wall surrounding a hollow space, the system having a central cutter which is locatable at a lower end of the pile for loosening soil below the hollow space upon installing the pile into the ground and which is displaceable within the pile in longitudinal direction thereof so as to remove the central cutter from the pile after installing the pile in the ground, a peripheral cutter locatable at the lower end of the pile for loosening soil below the cylindrical wall, a soil passage for guiding loosened soil from below the cutters to the hollow space, and a soil conveying member for transporting loosened soil upwardly through the hollow space. The soil passage is located at at least one of the central and peripheral cutter at a radial distance from the cylindrical wall.

Installation of embedded subsea foundations

A bearing surface of a subsea foundation has a low-resistance coating such as an aerogel, an aero-clay or a polymeric film. When the foundation is installed, the bearing surface is embedded in the seabed soil using the low-resistance coating to reduce resistance movement of the bearing surface relative to the seabed soil. The coating may then dissolve or fragment away from the bearing surface or transform into a higher-resistance state while remaining on the bearing surface. These mechanisms degrade a resistance-reducing property of the coating to increase resistance to movement of the embedded bearing surface relative to the seabed soil. Suction may be applied to the foundation before or after the resistance-reducing property of the coating has substantially degraded.

Pressure grouted displacement screw piles

A grouting module may include a lower surface configured for connection to a screw pile component, an upper surface configured for connection to an upper hollow pile shaft, a body disposed between the upper surface and the lower surface, and an axial bore through the upper surface and at least a portion of the body. The body may include a flange configured to create an annular space around the upper adapter and one or more flow injection conduits configured for injecting grout received from the upper hollow pile shaft through the axial bore extension into the annular space while the pile is advanced downward into a substrate. Once the final pile tip elevation is reached, the pile extensions above the grouting module are counter-rotated slightly to realign the ports in the grouting module from side to bottom discharge and allow post-grouting of the lead pile extension.

A coupling between lead and extension pile segments of a driven piling. The extension segment has a formed end, an opposite driven end and a body extending therebetween. The formed end has an inner diameter equal to an outer diameter of an exposed end of the lead segment and greater than an outer diameter of the extension segment's body. The formed end has an initial length prior to coupling the extension and lead segments; the formed end undergoes secondary end forming when a driving force is applied, such that the formed end has a final length exceeding the initial length after the extension and lead segments are coupled. In some embodiments, the extension segment has an external ring portion positioned upstream of the formed end, and the exposed end of the lead segment is cold extruded into and through the external ring portion of the extension segment.

A pumping unit base and methods for producing oil and gas with the pumping unit base. The pumping unit base may include a plurality of driven piles installed in the ground, and a metal platform fixedly attached to the plurality of driven piles, wherein the metal platform is positioned above the ground. The metal platform may be removed from the driven piles and reinstalled to the driven piles.

A pile includes a first pile section having a first end that engages a supporting medium and an opposing second end. A first end of a second pile section is engageable with the second end of the first pile section, each of the first and second pile sections having mating end fittings that create an in fit. A sleeve overlays the first and second engaged ends of the first and second pile sections. At least one through hole aligned with at least one corresponding through hole of the first pile section is sized for receiving a fastener far securing the sleeve to the first pile section. In another version, the ends of the pile section are engaged in contact while the overlaying sleeve has a pair of interlocking sleeve or coupler portions that are configured to provide torsional resistance. Additional pile sections can be sequentially attached to the second pile section.
