Control System for Mining Machine
A mining machine such as a mining shovel includes a digging assembly having an upward extending boom and a dipper arm generally horizontally supported by the boom. The dipper assembly includes a dipper disposed at one end of a dipper arm that can slide in translation with respect to the boom to crowd toward or retract from a vertical bank at the mining site. To translate the dipper assembly, the mining machine includes a crowd system having a crowd motor and a crowd actuator. An electronic controller receives the crowd motor torque, a crowd speed of the dipper assembly, and an inertia parameter associated with the dipper assembly. The electronic controller can determine an approximate location of the dipper with respect to the bank and, in a further aspect, can execute an anti-swing function if the dipper is in the bank.
Control System for Mining Machine
A mining machine such as a mining shovel includes a digging assembly having an upward extending boom and a dipper assembly with a dipper that is generally horizontally supported by the boom. A hoist system including hoist ropes attached to the dipper may be used to vertically pivot the dipper assembly with respect to the boom. To determine if the hoist ropes are properly supporting the weight of the dipper assembly, an electronic controller can calculate a calculated hoist force based on a hoist speed associated with the hoist ropes and a hoist motor torque from a hoist motor. If the calculated hoist force indicates that slack exists in the hoist ropes, the electronic controller can execute a slack reduction function to increase tension in the hoist ropes attached to the dipper.
INTERNAL VENTING SYSTEM FOR INDUSTRIAL MACHINES
A mining shovel includes a boom and a transmission unit coupled to the boom. The transmission unit includes an outer housing, an internal motor housing disposed within the outer housing, and a venting system coupled to the outer housing to direct air through both the outer housing and the internal motor housing.
CONSTRUCTION MACHINE HAVING SYNTHETIC ROPE ARRANGEMENT
A synthetic rope arrangement is disclosed for use with a construction machine. The synthetic rope arrangement may have a synthetic rope with an end, and an anchor having an opening formed therein to receive the end of the synthetic rope. The anchor may be removably connectable to the construction machine. The synthetic rope arrangement may also have a stop coupled to the end of the synthetic rope and configured to inhibit the end of the synthetic rope from passing through the anchor.
Shovel with pivoting bucket
A mining shovel including a base, a boom, a first member moveably coupled to the boom, a bucket, and a pivot actuator. The base includes a hoist drum for paying out and reeling in a hoist rope. The boom includes a first end coupled to the base and a second end opposite the first end. The hoist rope extends over the second end of the boom. The first member includes a first end and a second end. The bucket is pivotably coupled to the second end of the first member. The pivot actuator moves the bucket relative to the second end of the first member, and the pivot actuator includes a first end coupled to the first member.
Spacer shims for ground engaging tools
A spacer shim for locating between adjacent ground engaging tools of a work implement for an earth working machine includes a shim body, a shim upper protrusion, and a shim retention surface. The shim body includes a shim first leg and a shim second leg spaced apart to form a shim slot for receiving a lip of the work implement. The shim upper protrusion extends from the shim body and is adjacent to the shim first leg. The shim retention surface extends between the forward end and the shim upper protrusion and is configured to contact a bottom surface of a portion of an adjacent ground engaging tool.
Control System for a Rotating Machine
A system for evaluating a position of a target zone relative to a path of a material engaging work implement includes a rotatable implement system, an implement system pose sensor, and a target pose sensor. A controller determines a current pose of a portion of the implement system, determines a first pose of the target zone, determines a plurality of potential paths for moving the work implement to the first pose, and generates an alert command if a kinematic model and desired operating characteristics do not permit movement of the work implement to the first pose.
Fluid conveyance system for industrial machine
An industrial machine includes a frame supporting a boom, an elongated member movably coupled to the boom, an attachment, a conduit, and a reel supporting at least a portion of the conduit. The boom includes a first end coupled to the frame and a second end opposite the first end. The elongated member is movably coupled to the boom and includes a first end and a second end. The attachment is coupled to the second end of the elongated member. The conduit extends between the frame and the attachment. The reel is rotatably supported on a support shaft. The reel rotates about an axis of rotation to reel in and pay out the conduit as the elongated member moves relative to the boom.
HOIST ROPE PROTECTION
A hoist system is provided for an industrial machine including a digging attachment supported for movement to excavate material. The hoist system includes a rope attachment device configured to be coupled to the digging attachment; a synthetic rope configured to extend between a hoist drum and the rope attachment device, at least a portion of the synthetic rope configured to be selectively wrapped onto the hoist drum; and a rope protector extending along an outer surface of the synthetic rope.
Modular ground engagement tooling system
A tooling system includes a dipper having a lip with a plurality of apertures, the apertures extending at least partially through the lip. The tooling system also includes a modular adapter configured to be inserted partially into one of the apertures along an axis of insertion. The adapter is configured to be releasably coupled to the lip. The adapter includes a first portion configured to extend into the aperture, and a second portion configured to extend out of the aperture. The tooling system also includes a locking system including a fastener configured to extend at least partially into the aperture and couple to the adapter to the lip.
