A front steering system includes front wheels that are movable around a steering axis with respect to the articulated frame and around leaning axis transversal to the steering axis so that the front wheels may turn and lean during steering operation. A control unit receives as an input a control signal representing a steering angle and outputs steering actuation commands for an hydraulic actuating system of the front steering system and for a hydraulic actuating system of the articulated frame realizing synchronized and proportional angular movements of the front wheels around the steering and leaning axes and of the first and second portions of the frame around the pivoting axis.
Automatic blade control system for a motor grader
Disclosed is a method for automatically controlling a blade of a motor grader. At least one global navigation satellite system (GNSS) antenna and at least one inertial measurement unit (IMU) are mounted on the motor grader. No GNSS antenna is mounted on the blade; and no pole is used for mounting. With each GNSS antenna, GNSS navigation signals are received, and a position of each GNSS antenna is computed. With each IMU, three orthogonal accelerations and three orthogonal angular rotation rates are measured. With at least one processor, a blade position and a blade orientation are computed, based at least in part on the GNSS and IMU measurements. The blade elevation and the blade slope angle (and, in some embodiments, the blade side shift) are automatically controlled, based at least in part on the computed blade position, the computed blade orientation, and a digital job site model.
Fender mounting system
A fender mounting system for mounting a fender disposed partially around the circumference of a wheel can include a first bracket, a second bracket, and a third bracket. The first bracket can be attached to a leading radial edge of the fender and depends toward an axis line associated with the wheel. The second bracket can be attached to the radial mid-section of the fender and depends toward the axis line. The third bracket can be attached to a radial trailing edge and depends radial toward the axis line. In an embodiment, the first and third brackets can resist lateral forces along the axis line and the second bracket allows deflection due to lateral forces along the axis line.
Work machine with grade control using external field of view system and method
A work machine is provided with grade control capability using an imaging system, e.g., rather than GPS. The work machine includes at least one work implement for working at least part of a terrain, and first sensors (e.g., cylinder sensors) generate signals corresponding to positions of the work implement. Second sensors (e.g., stereo cameras) generate signals corresponding to positions of representative features of the terrain (e.g., curbs) in a field of view. A controller receives the signals and determines in a local reference system independent of a global reference system: first position information corresponding to the work implement; and second position information corresponding to the representative features. According to a selected control mode, target parameters for the work implement are determined based on the second position information corresponding to the representative features, and output signals are generated corresponding to a difference between the first position information and the target parameters.
Seal assembly for a grading machine
Disclosed is a seal assembly for a grading machine. The grading machine may include a machine body, a blade assembly, and a circle assembly supporting the blade assembly. The circle assembly may include a circle having a plurality of gear teeth. The grading machine may also include a drawbar assembly connecting the circle assembly to the machine body. The seal assembly may include a non-metallic seal component extending circumferentially around an inner circumference of the circle assembly for sealing the plurality of gear teeth.
WEAR PAD ASSEMBLY FOR IMPLEMENTS OF MACHINES
A wear pad assembly for an implement of a machine is disclosed. The implement includes a forward face configured to engage and cast material sideways during a forward movement of the machine over a work surface, and a rearward face opposite the forward face. The wear pad assembly includes a first bracket, a second bracket, a wear pad, and a biasing member. The first bracket is configured to be fixedly coupled to the rearward face of the implement. The second bracket is pivotably coupled to the first bracket. The wear pad is coupled to the second bracket and is configured to contact the work surface. Further, the biasing member is engaged with the second bracket and is configured to bias the wear pad in abutment with the work surface during use of the implement.
SYSTEM FOR OPERATING A CIRCLE DRIVE GEAR OF A MACHINE
A system for operating a circle drive gear of a machine includes a pump configured to output pressurized fluid, an implement control valve fluidly coupled to the pump, a bi-directional hydraulic motor located downstream of the implement control valve and fluidly coupled to the implement control valve via a first delivery line and a second delivery line. The hydraulic motor has an output shaft that is configured to be rotatively driven by pressurized fluid output by the pump. A brake is disposed on the output shaft of the hydraulic motor and engages with the output shaft with the help of a spring force for reducing a rotational speed of the output shaft in a brake engage state. The brake operatively disengages from the output shaft in a brake release state with the help of fluid pressure in at least one of the first delivery line and the second delivery line.
Motor Grader Circle Drawbar Assembly
