Systems and methods for automatically adjusting a motor grader can include receiving one or more identifiers corresponding to a configuration of the motor grader; determining, based at least in part on the one or more identifiers, a position of a leading edge of a blade of the motor grader relative to a rear frame axis of the motor grader; and, if the determined position is not within an operating threshold, causing a frame actuator of the motor grader to change an articulation angle of the frame to move the leading edge to within the acceptable threshold.

Operator cabin post configuration in work vehicle

A work vehicle includes a main frame extending along a longitudinal axis and a pair of actuators mounted to the main frame. The actuators are configured to set an orientation of a tool mounted below the main frame, which in a home position center the tool on the longitudinal axis. An operator cabin mounted to the main frame has a pair of structural posts extending from a floor to a roof at a front side of the operator cabin. An operator seat mounted in the operator cabin faces forward so as to create a forward field of view to the tool for an operator seated in the operator seat. The front structural posts are spaced apart laterally on each side of the main frame at a distance from a longitudinal axis such that they each overlap along a reference line one of the actuators within a forward-looking field of view.

Strut assembly of machine

A strut assembly for coupling an implement to a frame of a machine is provided. The strut assembly includes a first elongated member configured to couple to the frame of the machine. The strut assembly further includes a second elongated member slidably disposed within the first elongated member. The second elongated member is configured to couple to the implement. The strut assembly further includes a shear system configured to engage the second elongated member with the first elongated member. The shear system includes a first shear pin configured to be inserted through a first opening defined in the first elongated member and a second opening defined in the second elongated member. The first shear pin includes a first fracture zone positioned within a gap defined between the first elongated member and the second elongated member.

Drawbar position determination with rotational sensors

In a motor grader, a total drawbar position may be determined based on signals from various sensors on a drawbar-circle-moldboard (DCM) assembly. The sensors can include rotational sensors for one or both lift arm angles, and one or both yoke primary angles in combination with sensors detecting lengths of the lift cylinders. The sensor information may be used to calculate roll, pitch and yaw angles of the drawbar relative to a frame of the motor grader.

WORK MACHINE AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING WORK MACHINE
20240352706 · 2024-10-24 ·

A work machine includes a vehicle body, a work implement movably connected to the vehicle body, a plurality of actuators that are connected to the work implement and change an orientation of the work implement with respect to the vehicle body, an operating device that is operable to change the orientation of the work implement, a sensor that detects the orientation of the work implement, and a controller. The controller acquires a current orientation of the work implement, determines a target orientation of the work implement corresponding to an operation of the operating device, determines respective target stroke lengths of the plurality of actuators so that the work implement assumes the target orientation from the current orientation with a combination of stroke motions of the plurality of actuators, and controls the plurality of actuators based on the target stroke lengths.
