WARNING SYSTEM, INHALER, AND METHOD FOR GENERATING WARNING
A warning system for use with an inhaler includes an operating mechanism that is configured to be actuated to a reset state, a primed state, and a fired state. The inhaler dispenses a metered dose of a medicament upon actuation of the operating mechanism from the primed state to the fired state. The warning system includes a control circuit that is activated upon actuation of the operating mechanism from the primed state to the fired state. The warning system also includes an alert device communicably coupled to the control circuit and configured to generate a warning. Further, the control circuit is configured to control the alert device to generate the warning until the operating mechanism has been actuated from the fired state to the reset state.
Drug delivery device with electronics
A device for delivering medication to a user may include a main body, an electronics module, and a slider. The main body may include a mouthpiece, a medication reservoir, and a mouthpiece cover, where the mouthpiece cover may be hinged to the main body. The electronics module may include a communication circuit, a pressure sensor, and a switch. The slider may be configured to engage the switch when the mouthpiece cover moves from a closed position to an open position. The switch may be configured to switch the electronics module from an off state or a sleep state to an active state. The electronics module may be configured to never return to the off state after the mouthpiece cover is moved to expose the mouthpiece for the first time by the user.
NASAL DELIVERY DEVICES
A nasal delivery device for and a method of delivering substance to a nasal airway of a subject, the nasal delivery device comprising: a mouthpiece (519) through which the subject in use exhales to cause closure of the oropharyngeal velum of the subject; a nosepiece (517) for fitting to a nostril of a subject, the nosepiece including a nozzle (549) through which substance is in use delivered to the nasal airway; and a manually-actuatable substance supply unit (520) for delivering substance through the nozzle of the nosepiece.
DEVICE FOR INHALATION SYNCHRONIZED DISPENSING OF A FLUID PRODUCT
The invention relates to a device comprising a body (10), a reservoir (100) mounted in an axially slidable manner relative to said body (10), a metering valve (200) assembled on said reservoir (100), said device comprising: —a blocking element (500), —a triggering element (600), —a triggering system controlled by inhalation (60) cooperating with said triggering element (600), and —an actuating member (800) cooperating with said blocking element (500), said device comprising an automatic valve release system which automatically returns said valve (210) of said valve (200) to its rest position after actuation of the valve regardless of the position of said actuating member (800).
SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF AEROSOL DELIVERY WITH AIRFLOW REGULATION
An example aerosol delivery device includes a mouthpiece having an airflow outlet, and an airflow passage extending between an airflow inlet and the airflow outlet. The example aerosol delivery device further includes a housing configured to receive a cartridge that includes an aerosolizable substance and a vapor element configured to heat the aerosolizable substance, and an internal power source configured to provide electrical power. The example aerosol delivery device further includes a controller coupled to the internal power source to receive a portion of the electrical power and configured to, when the cartridge is installed at the housing, cause the vapor element of the cartridge to heat the aerosolizable substance to release an aerosol into the airflow passage during an inhalation through the airflow outlet, and a connector configured to receive power from an external source to recharge the internal power source.
Breath-Enhanced Nebulizer For Delivery Of Aerosolized Drugs To Ventilated Patients
A breath-enhanced nebulizer adapted for use in administering an aerosolized pharmaceutical composition to a patient by inhalation wherein the patient is connected to a mechanical ventilator is disclosed. The nebulizer has a Venturi driven by a nebulizer air supply that draws a solution of a pharmaceutical composition into a shear zone where the solution is atomized. The Venturi effect is amplified by the internal configuration of the nebulizer to increase the rate of nebulization of drug. Optionally, breath-actuated nebulization is used, employing a pressure sensor interposed between the nebulizer and mechanical ventilator that controls the nebulizer air supply, such that nebulizer air and concomitant nebulization only occurs during the inhalation phase of a breathing cycle.
ATOMIZER AND ELECTRONIC CIGARETTE USING THE SAME
An electronic cigarette includes a container for storing a tobacco flavored liquid, an atomizer connected to the container to atomize the tobacco flavored liquid by an electric heating, a battery tube to power the atomizer, and an actuating film movably positioned in the battery tube to control the atomizer.
Device for inhalation-synchronised dispensing of a fluid product
A device including a body with a mouthpiece, a fluid reservoir mounted to slide relative to the body, a valve, a blocking element movable and/or deformable between a blocking position in which the metering valve cannot be actuated, and an actuation position in which the metering valve can be actuated; a trigger element movable and/or deformable between a locking position and a release position; and an inhalation-controlled trigger system. The blocking element including a projection that, in the locking position, co-operates with a shoulder of the trigger element to define a latch that prevents the blocking element from moving and/or deforming. The blocking element includes a lateral projection that, in the locking position of the trigger element, co-operates with a bearing surface of the trigger element to form, in the locking position of the trigger element, a second contact point between the blocking element and said trigger element.
Inhalers and related methods
A nasal inhaler for the inhalation of inhalable substances comprise: a canister having an interior reservoir containing pressurised inhalable substances including fluid; a metering valve including a metering chamber and a valve stem defining a communication path between the metering chamber and the interior reservoir, the communication path including an opening configured to permit flow between a transfer space inside the valve stem and the interior reservoir, the interior reservoir being arranged for orientation above the metering chamber whereby gas located within the metering chamber is replaced with liquid from the interior reservoir.
DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE WITH ELECTRONICS
A system may include a mobile application residing on an external device and an inhalation device. The inhalation device may include a mouthpiece, a mouthpiece cover, medicament, and an electronics module comprising a processor. The inhalation device may be configured to both prepare a dose of medicament for delivery to a user and cause the processor to transition between power states when the mouthpiece cover is moved from a closed position to an open position to expose the mouthpiece. The electronics module or the mobile application may be configured to generate usage events based on usage of the inhalation device by the user. The electronics module may also include a pressure sensor, and the electronics module or the mobile application may be configured to determine whether a usage event is a good inhalation event, a fair inhalation event, or a no inhalation event based on feedback from the pressure sensor.
