BUILDING CONSTRUCTION
A perimeter frame used in a construction of floors or roofs of buildings, including three superior radial sub-frames, three inferior radial sub-frames, and six non-perpendicularly interconnecting top hat sub-frames, wherein each superior radial sub-frame is located between a pair of inferior radial sub-frames such that there is a 60° angle between the first and second longitudinal axes of any two adjacent radial sub-frames, and wherein the innermost blunt end portions of the superior radial sub-frames are interconnected to define a primary hexagon structure at a centre of the perimeter frame, and the innermost blunt end portions of the inferior radial sub-frames are connected to a converging region of adjoining surfaces of each adjacent pair of superior radial sub-frames to define a secondary hexagon structure around the primary hexagon structure, and wherein the overhang end portions and the outermost blunt end portions define six corners of a hexagonal perimeter frame.
Truss, Arched Structure And Shed
The present invention relates to a truss that allows the formation of an arc when connected with other trusses and that creates an optimal angle that generates a lower calculation effort in the structure.
The present invention also relates to an arched structure comprising a plurality of such trusses and to a shed comprising a plurality of arched structures.
HOLLOW STRUCTURAL SECTION CONNECTOR AND METHODS OF USE OF SAME
A bracket includes a first wing, a second wing and a bridge that connects the first wing to the second wing. The first wing has a first inner surface and a first outer surface. The second wing has a second inner surface and a second outer surface. The bridge extends from the first inner surface to the second inner surface thereby coupling the first wing to the second wing such that the first inner surface is normal to a first direction, and the first inner surface is parallel to the second inner surface. The bridge includes a front edge and a rear edge. The front edge forms a recess that extends into the bridge towards the rear edge along a second direction that is perpendicular to the first direction, and the recess terminates within the bridge prior to reaching the rear edge.
Panelized structural system for building construction
Structural truss panels include first, second, third, and fourth horizontal elongated members and first and second vertical elongated members fastened to the first, second, third, and fourth horizontal elongated members. The first and fourth horizontal elongated members form respectively a top and a bottom of the structural truss panel. The first and second vertical elongated members forming respective sides of the structural truss panel. The structural truss panel further includes and an angled webbing fastened between the first and second vertical elongated members and the first and second horizontal elongated members thereby creating an integrated web truss within the structural truss panel. The structural truss panel includes first, second, and third brace members forming a V-braced truss panel.
SPACER FOR INTERCONNECTING ADJACENT ELONGATED MEMBERS, A METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME, AND A METHOD AND A USE OF SAID SPACER
A spacer for interconnecting in a frame structure, adjacent elongated members. Said spacer comprises: a main member having opposite ends, at least one first attachment plate, and a at least one second attachment plate, the at least one first attachment plate being adapted to be secured to one of the opposite ends of the main member, and the at least one second attachment plate being adapted to be secured to the other of the opposite ends, wherein the at least one first attachment plate is adapted to cooperate with at least one fastener for fastening the same to one of the adjacent elongated members, wherein the at least one second attachment plate is adapted to cooperate with at least one fastener for fastening the same to the other of the adjacent elongated members, wherein the main member has a length and a width, the length corresponding to a distance separating the adjacent elongated members, the width being close to the width of the adjacent elongated members, wherein the main member is further provided with at least one portion comprising an opening obstructed by a corresponding removable element fastened to the main member by at least one breakable member, and wherein when the at least one breakable member is broken, the element is removed to give access to the opening. Also, a method for manufacturing the spacer, a method of use of said spacer and a use of said spacer.
DUCTILE ANCHOR ATTACHMENT (DAA) MECHANISM, FUSE PLATE SYSTEM, AND MODIFIED JACKET
A ductile anchor attachment (DAA) mechanism is disclosed. Example embodiments are directed to a DAA fuse plate including a bottom section configured to connect to an existing anchor; a tapered lower section; a narrowed neck forming a ductile yield mechanism; a tapered upper section; and a connection mechanism for direct removable coupling of the DAA fuse plate to a structure being anchored, the connection mechanism being in contact with the tapered upper section of the DAA fuse plate, the DAA fuse plate in combination with the connection mechanism being configured to not buckle under compression forces and to adjustably dissipate tension forces acting on the structure being anchored.
SYSTEM AND APPARATUS FOR SECURING A FLOORPLATE TO A STRUCTURE
A multi-story building that includes a vertical support core and a plurality of floor plates is described, wherein fabrication of the building includes, in one embodiment, assembling each of the floor plates at or near ground level, and lifting each of the floor plates to a design level on the vertical support core. A system and device for securing one of the floor plates to the building includes employing a vertically-oriented lock-in bracket.
STRUCTURAL FUSES AND CONNECTION SYSTEMS INCLUDING THE SAME
Embodiments are directed to structural fuses and connection systems including the same. An example structural fuse includes at least one plate. The structural fuse includes a plurality of cutouts formed in the plate. The cutouts are configured to cause at least one first yield region of the plate to yield when a first load is applied to the plate. Optionally, the plurality of cutouts are configured to cause at least one second yield region to yield when a second load is applied to the plate. At least a portion of the first yield region is distinct from at least a portion of the second yield region and the first load is different than the second load.
BASE CONNECTIONS AND STRUCTURES INCLUDING THE BASE CONNECTIONS, KITS FOR FORMING AND METHODS OF REPAIRING THE SAME
Embodiments are directed to base connections, structures including base connections, kits for forming the base connections and/or structures, and method of repairing yielded base connections. In an embodiment, a base connection includes a base plate including a top surface and a bottom surface opposite the top surface.
