Forming column assemblies for moment resisting bi-axial beam-to-column joint connections
10179991 · 2019-01-15 · ·

A method of fabricating a biaxial moment resisting column assembly allows the column assembly to be formed with a minimum of external fixturing. A column of the column assembly functions as a jig for sequentially attaching each gusset plate to the column and in some instances to other gusset plates to form a gusset plate assembly of the column assembly. In some embodiments, all welds used to form the gusset plate assembly are made in the horizontal welding position. Movement of the column to different positions can be achieved by rotation about its longitudinal axis.

Frame systems for building structures

A frame system for a building structure includes beam members. Each beam member comprises two opposed, parallel flanges. A web is interposed between the flanges. Spreader members comprise two opposed, parallel side flanges, a web interposed between the side flanges and two opposed end flanges bridging the side flanges at respective terminal ends of the web. The beam members and the spreader members are configured to be fastened to each other to form a frame assembly.

An orthogonal framework for the fabrication of modular buildings includes a plurality of hub members formed to fit in the ends of vertical hollow post members including base hubs for securing the lower end of a hollow post to a foundation and/or base beams or shear panels, terminal hubs for securing the top ends of a post upper beam members and/or the upper ends of shear panels, and intermediate tubes for securing the ends of two vertically aligned posts together and/or to support beams for the building. The hubs are hollow and have press nuts mounted on their inner surfaces to allow the terminals to be bolted to the posts, beams and shear panels in a large variety of beam and post combinations to form modular buildings in various configurations.

The present invention comprises: an external wall installation step for forming a wall by inserting elastic pieces therein such that a core block and an exterior block elastically make contact, and coupling the same to an inner core block; a side end elastic member installation step, of a beam side end, for having an interval region at both end sides of a beam and an external wall inner surface and for fixing elastic members to an interval region; a top elastic member installation step, of a beam top to be interposed between a deck plate, which is installed at the top of the beam, and the beam; a slab forming step for installing the deck plate, a dry heating panel, and a floor finishing panel on the top elastic members; and a slab side end finishing step for sealing and finishing an interval portion among the side end surfaces of the slab and the external wall inner peripheral surface, and thus expected are effects of: ensuring shock resistance of the slab in a building constructed by using assembly-type blocks; having shock resistance, by using an elastic means for a connection region between the wall, built by the assembly-type blocks, and the slab so as to relieve the direct shock transmission; and simultaneously enabling a noise-blocking function capable of preventing shock, noise and the like, transmitted from the slab, from being transmitted to a lower floor.

COLUMN AND BEAM CONNECTION STRUCTURE AND METHOD

A column and beam connection structure for connecting a steel H-beam to a column uses an external diaphragm. The external diaphragm includes a plurality of divided diaphragm segments such that each diaphragm segment has a column plate abutting on the column. A diaphragm segment which is arranged along the steel H-beam among the plurality of divided diaphragm segments has a beam plate installed in a flange of the steel H-beam. The beam plate has an end portion in which the column plate is provided. A joining surface between the diaphragm segments is placed in a vicinity of a corner portion of the column so that only the column plate of one of the diaphragm segments abuts on each column surface of the column. A joining member fastens to fix between the diaphragm segments such that contact pressure is applied from the column plates to the surface of the column.

Main girder of bridge crane

A main grinder of a bridge crane, intended to be supported by its ends to end girders of the bridge crane and which comprises an elongated box-type central web, whereby there is, formed in the central web on at least one end of the main girder, a cutting slot running substantially in the longitudinal direction of the main girder, and connected to this cutting there is a knife plate, extending from a bottom of the cutting slot substantially to the end of the main girder, for supporting to the end girder.

A building structure includes elements that are integrally connected by a poured bonding structure. The elements include a beam having a cavity that is configured to receive a pourable bonding material and flooring sections that are supported by the beams. The flooring sections include voids that open to a cavity. Inserts are positioned in the voids to control the limit the depth that the pourable bonding material can flow into the voids and to increase the strength of the poured bonding structure.

GUSSET PLATE AND COLUMN ASSEMBLY FOR MOMENT RESISTING BI-AXIAL BEAM-TO-COLUMN JOINT CONNECTIONS
20180094419 · 2018-04-05 ·

A gusset plate assembly for use in connecting at least two beams to a hollow tubular column in a building. The gusset plate assembly can receive said at least two beams in a biaxial orientation of said beams. The gusset plate assembly comprises gusset plates sized for transferring the weights of said at least two beams and their reaction forces and bending moments from the application of severe load conditions acting on the building to the hollow tubular column. At least one of the gusset plates receives a portion of a second of the gusset plates. A joint penetration groove weld joining the first and second gusset plates together allows the gusset plate assembly to be free of welds on its internal corners. A method of assembling a gusset plate assembly is also disclosed.
